do you have the part number by any chance?
-
no i haven't gone back at it yet, as its not being driven much anyway with lockdowns etc. and anytime i have driven it since been ok interesting about the brake pedal switch, i might do that, do you know the part number by any chance?
-
youtube videos not quite the same, the glowplug only flashes for a second when the throttle stops working then goes out again, both the videoes had flashing all the time, and they would probably have faults stored if they scanned em

Same here it is very intermittent haven't had it for ages then four times on Saturday hence I went looking and found this post Driving along and it's like there is no accelerator pedal, engine goes down to idle as the car slows Car stopped and pedal does nothing Turn car off and on and it starts working again, also turn off and on while rolling/coasting fixes it Don't think it's engine as mine is different Moorside you said you replaced the pedal did you do the basic adaptation sequence in vcds after? Wonder if that would help I had master cylinder changed a while back for a different issue but don't know if the brake switch was done at the same time The mystery continues... Dallan

I've used vcds and never any errors stored after it happens so it's most likely a physical issue Never thought of brake light switch it does seem similar to left foot braking now you mentioned that

I have this same issue with cega engine and can't figure it out either It's as if the pedal was unplugged, turn car off and on and it will work again for sometimes a few weeks before happens again, today had it 4 times

So as i look into the CECM more and more, its looking like everything on PLUG A and some of B and C is not working along with a few other oddities so i might swap A and D around later to see if it moves sides -

Just checked and the footwell lights arent working either, so looking more like cecm fault maybe i will try disconnect the battery later and see if that re-sets it -

Hi folks, so yesterday i get a headlight bulb out warning for passenger side dip beam, then today i get into the car and maxidot starts a novel of bulbs out so after buying 2 h7's and 2 h1's taking out the passenger headlight deffo gone, replace and it works, Now to the drivers side, all i have working on that side is the sidelight and indicator No Dip, No Main, and no Fog then i notice on the rear passenger side cluster is acting strange also, no side lights or brake light changed the top twin filament bulb no change Also when the sidelights are on the rear drivers brake light is on, and the indicator on that side is not working either (replaced bulb also) Its probably something odd, but checked all the fuses in both boxes, not wet in the boot and im stumped now Anyone had this before? Thanks Dallan

i might get along if i give the car a wash beforehand

fast beeps after starting the car
Dallan replied to Dallan's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
No its not like any usual beeps and no message on maxidot Its literally a series of bips in the space of 1-2 seconds -
Hi I have been meaning to ask the question for a while but kept forgetting, Anyway every so often after starting the car i hear a number of beeps in quick succession, its almost too fast to count but i think its either 9 or 10 beeps No warning lights or anything and car drives normally, just wondering does anyone know what the beeps mean? Thanks Its a 09 Mk2 CR 170 Dallan

Rosboy, if you have a maxidot display (Shows big picture of car if door is open etc.) you can program it through there also

Ignore the other links you just need to read the text, the diagrams are the actual switch on the end on the ignition barrell The steering wheel must not be removed. For installing the fixing screws of the bottom trim panel for steering column, turn the steering wheel to the left by 90° and subsequently turn it to the right. – First of all remove the top and then the bottom steering column trim panel. – Release cover -1- (if present) for ignition starter switch by inserting a small screwdriver in the opening -arrow- and lift off the cover -movement arrow- through extensive levering off and remove. – Disconnect plugs -3- from ignition starter switch -2-. – Release ignition starter switch by inserting two small screwdrivers (e.g. watch-and-clock screwdriver) in the openings -arrows-and by levering off the catch pegs. – Pull ignition starter switch -1- out of the steering lock. Install – Installation is performed in the reverse order, pay attention to the following points: Note When installing the ignition/starter switch and the steering lock must be in the same position, e.g. „Ignition ON“. – Insert ignition starter switch into the steering lock until there is an audible click.

turn steering wheel 90 degrees left and then right to access the others once the cover is off its a simple job, just unclip (2 small screwdrivers to hold in the tabs) the old one, line up the new one and pop it in (make sure the slot in the centre is lined up with the metal blade also its hard to explain, but you will see when you take the old one out, its a 15 min job

throttle at idling and occasional lunge?
Dallan replied to wolverineuk's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Yeah DPF removal and mapped out will stop it, doesn't necessarily have to be a stage 1 map, some places including Shark offer a stage 0 just to map out the dpf if insurance etc. is a problem -

Navigation Coding for pre-fl with columbus
Dallan replied to Dallan's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I will give that a shot Mike Yeah navigation is enabled and working, but now the colour scheme on the columbus screen is vw now so on the touchscreen where the green boxes around the radio station names for example are red now, obviously the backlights are still green on the physical buttons playing with byte 7 bit 4+5 got it working (but with red buttons) but not sure exactly which way to set it due to the missing text in vcds helper Thanks Dallan -
Hi All Managed to get a bargain columbus, so i asked my mechanic to code it today while doing a service Anyway we could connect but for some reason his long coding helper is acting up so we couldn't see the byte descriptions, now with looking through rosstech we managed to get the nav working on maxidot but now my screen buttons are gone to vw red :( can someone post up their working coding for 37-Navigation from a pre-fl with Columbus so i can just type it in and avoid the long coding helper Thanks Dallan
