  1. I'm always a bit conscious of charging the Octavia on a public charger over those who have a pure electric, but it helps my fuel economy and is that not what we are trying to do? That said I try to avoid shared rapid chargers and it's been hard to get on a charger now - indeed a Leaf owner was queuing the other night and a Tesla was circulating a 2 space charger. I was happy to jump off for the Leaf owner who seemed very distressed! Not helped by the Volvo who had been on 6 hours and was sitting full for the hour I'd been there. Changing to charged tariffs with overstay fees need to be done soon and councils are introducing it quickly as the rise in home electricity prices is seeing more EV owners taking the cheap options. Free charging is going to end soon enough and those who got in early had a few years of it being good, but the rapid rise in EVs and the energy market costs will kill it, indeed charging issues and costs might hamper EV take up. For me, the PHEV takes around 3 hours and 11kWh to charge from empty-ish to full which gets you around 35 miles of EV range. If I use the nearest paid one to me I pay £0.19kWh. At £7.50-£8 a gallon of fuel, I make breakeven 0.53p kwh where costs mean I may as well use petrol - the charger in Morrisons is currently 57p/kWh. Given rapid chargers (which the Octavia can't use) are already 60p+ and Osprey saying they are now going to £1 kWh that shows the costs of electric now.
  2. It's certainly very individual. I find my journey, particularly to work leads to awful MPG due to traffic and terrain, I mean an overall of 40mpg in the Karoq was good going. I've gone the PHEV route now as no guaranteed charging at home and I need to have flexibility. I'm quite lucky to be able get to and from work with a charge and have about 10 miles left on the battery at present. We have work place chargers which are reasonable and there are free public ones 5 mins walk so economically it works out fairly well for me. That said I think by rough calculations, 50p kWh is the breakeven where you may as well run on petrol.
  3. Indeed I ended up getting a slight saving from order to delivery I suspect due to that. If it is any consolation my Aug 21 estate order came this month, so maybe the end of the year might be doable!
  4. After 13 months waiting my SEL iV Plug in Hybrid arrived. All seems good with it so far, just to understand some of the infotainment features!
  5. Have had confirmation that I should be able to pick mine up in the next week, which is a nice bonus. Just around 13 months wait.
  6. I was 16 weeks for an estate and I'm now up near 50 weeks. Might get a cake for the year anniversary. 😅
  7. Id be worried trusting any car brand where such a wide and long date range of 6 to 9 months is quoted as this suggests they are struggling with demand and builds too. One thing if it was a cancelling for a couple of weeks to a month wait or for an in stock car. 18 months is an average unbelievably rate. My lease car is going back this month and I’ve not got the new one or a date yet. So that’s fun…
  8. Mine has apparently been built but awaiting parts since April. I've made it over 9 months (original quoted 18 weeks).
  9. . I'm suckered into it. After waiting 9 months your sort of like I've waited so long.... Need a car by the end of May and that doesn't seem likely. I'm almost tempted to wait as the market for cars is awful right now. Nothing good to lease in stock at decent prices, used prices are super high too. Thought I'd have a new car by now I have to say. The initial 16 weeks has been miles off which is annoying to say the least. Had I been told 40+ weeks I'd been not placing an order.
  10. Yeah PCPs have worked well. My lease ended months ago, and I just keep kicking it forward. I don't really want to MOT and run it without warranty so might have to review what to do if it doesn't arrive soon... I'm now over 8 months in the wait.
  11. "Octavia IV - Probably from Q3/2023". Holy moly that's a long wait. I know I've been told it's likely 9 months to get mine but that's a long wait.
  12. And Mini just shut down Oxford factory for a week. Everyone is struggling with supply shortages.
  13. 8 months? I'm gonna speculate that might be on the optimistic side. I'm over 6 months and been told April is build date....
  14. I've kicked my lease on a couple of times now, but coming to the time where I need to make a call on what to do . I'm not sure I want to keep the lease car indefinitely esp now it is out of warranty. I don't know what the iV delivery times are - but I'm already 7 months... Might do one last extension and hope it comes before then.
  15. That's the frustrating part for me, the timescales when ordered were a good bit off and I haven't heard anything since order.
  16. Been waiting since End July/start of August - still don't have a date but my current lease was extended to March which was suggested as the most likely time. Fingers crossed anyway!
  17. Same colour as I ordered on the same car. I think it looks really good which is a positive as I wasn't 100% sure on the colour. Good to know timescales as I'm probably a month and a bit later and was hoping for March so probably on for that. 👍
  18. Been browsing the thread for a while- interesting reading! I've been waiting since start of August. Have the current car extended for a few months yet so no real issues waiting, just managing the impatience! Looking at leasing costs a lot of them have jumped recently.
