  1. Simon - you have pm.

Yes, ET42 on mine too - probably wouldn't want to go too low as there would be some rubbing. Make look into some adjustable top mounts to add a touch of camber.

Howdy Garry, hope all is good? It's been a while. You still running the S3?

    Cheers

    Gareth

  2. Looks lovely Simon

Turini's are the perfect wheel for the Mk5. I'm biased as I have them on my GTI.

H&Rs will make a subtle difference, but I would consider whether you'd eventually jump to coilovers anyway, so could be better going with them from the start.

I've got H&Rs on my MK5 GTI and they are very good. Saying that, after nearly three years, I've just bought some coilovers.

Would deffo recommend a Miltek Non-Res on there - unleash the noise!!! B)

  3. Best bit was one of the partners of the firm who lives near me (who got a bit drunk last night at a partners meeting, as is traditional ;)) was standing by bemused watching me do all this. At least he got a lift to work and saved us both a one mile walk :D:thumbup:

I'm outraged that you have time for a partners  meeting in January :p - some of us within the profession seem to be rather busy :p

Glad you sorted the problem though

  4. If Fabia owners want a genuine set of BBS, they may be better off looking for a set of RCs or RKs (my old wheels) which were a more fabia friendly 7.5j 17" 5x100 ET35. Still flipping rare tho.

Or if you're heart is really set on genuine CHs, try to find the 17" 7.5 versions that were available in 5x112 and 5x120 and source a decent set of pcd adapters, such as H&R

    Final option: Fakes :dull:

  5. 40bhp more for Luke says for itself

I really do not believe there is really 40bhp difference between these two cars - they are much more closely matched on the street than the '40bhp/50lbft extra' would suggest. - that or Ross really is a driving god! :p

Both were RR'd at AmD on two different days (Ross' was on a particularly odd results day - even by AmD standards). I'd love for them both to go to JKM to get on a Dyno Dynamics RR on the same day to see a true reflection of the difference of the extras that Luke has.

  6. I'd sooner trust a company that makes engine mounts ;) i was prepared to buy another one then, making them more money, but he said it'd be fine.

You mean you'd rather trust VF engineering than a man with a golf??? :o

Good point tho, they could have easily taken a few more £££ from you - its not like you need an excuse to spend on your car.

Look forward to seeing the results :)

  7. I seem to find myself agreeing with Jase lately (a worrying sign :p ), but i'd have thought that both sides would need uprating at the same time...

I'm not a engine mount specialist, but wouldn't a more solid mount on one side put added strain on the other oem mount???

  8. Question: are they guys who are fitting TT control arms also fitting Anti Lift Kits (e.g. Whiteline)?

If so, then the SuperPro arms include anti lift already (according to the mail from AmD above) then this makes them a bit more cost effective? Yes?

    :wonder:

This would also be my interpretation.

As I already have a WALK, I guess I'd be better off just sourcing a set of TT arms.

Interesting vid though, and good to know that there are alternatives out their...
