Looks lovely Simon
Turini's are the perfect wheel for the Mk5. I'm biased as I have them on my GTI.
H&Rs will make a subtle difference, but I would consider whether you'd eventually jump to coilovers anyway, so could be better going with them from the start.
I've got H&Rs on my MK5 GTI and they are very good. Saying that, after nearly three years, I've just bought some coilovers.
Would deffo recommend a Miltek Non-Res on there - unleash the noise!!!

Phil fitted some a while back and posted a pic in the above link.
May be worth bearing in mind (for future mods) that they won't fit over 312mm brakes
-
The original clamps on mine were heavily corroded and I replaced them when I repainted the RARB.
Not at all suprised that the metal strap has had enough.
Good point though and a wise word of warning to those that had had the bar fitted for a while.
It is still (imo) the best single mod for the vRS

Best bit was one of the partners of the firm who lives near me (who got a bit drunk last night at a partners meeting, as is traditional ) was standing by bemused watching me do all this. At least he got a lift to work and saved us both a one mile walk
I'm outraged that you have time for a partners meeting in January :p - some of us within the profession seem to be rather busy :p
Glad you sorted the problem though

If Fabia owners want a genuine set of BBS, they may be better off looking for a set of RCs or RKs (my old wheels) which were a more fabia friendly 7.5j 17" 5x100 ET35. Still flipping rare tho.
Or if you're heart is really set on genuine CHs, try to find the 17" 7.5 versions that were available in 5x112 and 5x120 and source a decent set of pcd adapters, such as H&R
Final option: Fakes
-
They deffo did. The exact variant was BBS CH 006 which were 5x100, 17" 8.5j (could be fun ) and ET35

Must be a demand thing, it's available to buy on their website now...

fair play, hopefully a sign of the times. If Forge follow this with a better quality service too, they may improve their reputation.
No excuse for you not to get out there and build your home grown FMIC
-
Forge do a pipe with the MAF housing installed in 60m and 63mm. Maybe they'd do one in a smaller diameter if asked? Apparently they can be quite flexible...
J.
In the past, Forge wouldn't sell the map sensor pipe separately from their complete hose kits....
-
Genuine 17" CHs in 5x100 are like rocking horse poop rare.
I've never seen a genuine set on a Fabia :(
-
If non-skodas are allowed on track, then I'd love to join in with the track action
Surely my golf is only an Octy vRS in a different skirt....
Happy to pay full fee now to secure a spot

40bhp more for Luke says for itself
I really do not believe there is really 40bhp difference between these two cars - they are much more closely matched on the street than the '40bhp/50lbft extra' would suggest. - that or Ross really is a driving god! :p
Both were RR'd at AmD on two different days (Ross' was on a particularly odd results day - even by AmD standards). I'd love for them both to go to JKM to get on a Dyno Dynamics RR on the same day to see a true reflection of the difference of the extras that Luke has.
-
Both are junk
-
you'll miss the Fabia....
What is up next???
-
Looking good as always Trevor
Couldn't help but notice the massssive aerial on the most recent pics, and yet you have a stubby on the show pics - I assume this is for reception reasons? It's the first time I've seen a car with a 'show aerial'
-
BBS RK504 - 2 piece splits, 5x100, 7.5 x 17", ET35
Looking back at some old pics makes me miss my vRS :'(

I'd sooner trust a company that makes engine mounts i was prepared to buy another one then, making them more money, but he said it'd be fine.
You mean you'd rather trust VF engineering than a man with a golf???
Good point tho, they could have easily taken a few more £££ from you - its not like you need an excuse to spend on your car.
Look forward to seeing the results
-
hi
would you consider posting out the drivers side?
many thanks
mark
Luke isn't the biggest fan of the postal service, which is a shame as he'd deffo sell more items on here by embracing some bubble wrap, brown paper and a stamp...
-
I seem to find myself agreeing with Jase lately (a worrying sign :p ), but i'd have thought that both sides would need uprating at the same time...
I'm not a engine mount specialist, but wouldn't a more solid mount on one side put added strain on the other oem mount???
-
go lightweight and save 10kgs or so from the front end....
-
I'll be there
-
To be fair Jase, the design of the mk4 mounts is different to the Fabia, so the results may be (slightly) different.
I'd still expect it to be bone shaking tho - the uprated mounts I had in my mk4 were enough to knock your fillings out!
Lol at the 'trust me this once' comment

Question: are they guys who are fitting TT control arms also fitting Anti Lift Kits (e.g. Whiteline)?
If so, then the SuperPro arms include anti lift already (according to the mail from AmD above) then this makes them a bit more cost effective? Yes?
:wonder:
This would also be my interpretation.
As I already have a WALK, I guess I'd be better off just sourcing a set of TT arms.
Interesting vid though, and good to know that there are alternatives out their...

I suspect mine weighs a lot more than standard after the leather, FMIC, sound system, ARB's, strut braces, brakes, wheels, LSD, Methanol, etc...
Probably a reason why it's so slow....

Simon - you have pm.
Yes, ET42 on mine too - probably wouldn't want to go too low as there would be some rubbing. Make look into some adjustable top mounts to add a touch of camber.
Howdy Garry, hope all is good? It's been a while. You still running the S3?
Cheers
