  1. Thanks again. As far as I can tell all the fuses are OK but The two fuses for the front and rear heated seats are not there apart from the one that powers the switch(es). The front passenger seat heater was working well when last my wife was on board in mid December if I recall correctly. Noone apart from myself has been in the vehicle since then. I should be most grateful for your thoughts..
  2. Thanks for your prompt reply, Rusty. I have checked the fuses in the engine compartment and they are all OK. The drivers manual also refers to another fusebox behind the lefthand fascia cover, but I took the cover off and found no fusebox there - any idea where else I might find it please?
  3. Sorry, that should read "for a few weeks" (I never carry elks in my car!)
  4. Not having used my car for a few elks, I went to start it on Monday, only to find that the battery was flat. I recharged it overnight and the engine started with no fuss at all. I decided to give it a bit of exercise and went for a drive on the motorway and returned via an A road. The total distance was around 40 miles. During the drive I attempted to turn on the radio but with no success. I had already discovered the the driver’s seat heating was not working. I also noticed that the maxi dot display was only showing 4 items, namely MFD, Phone, Vehicle status and Settings. I should be most grateful for any suggestions about how to restore the car to its normal operating mode. Many thanks, Colin.
  5. Thanks for the prompt reply. I have sent you a pm. Colin
  6. A couple of years ago I had a Westfalia tower fitted to my 2012 Superb. Due to family circumstances I have only used the car for towing on four or five times since then. The guy who fitted the tower appears to no longer be an accredited Westfalia fitter - this comes as no surprise as he failed to make the Changs necessary for the vehicle to recognise that a trailer is connected. My local garage claims to have the "real VAGCOM" software but seem to think that is could take up to 2 hours to do the re-code. Is there, by any chance, a member in the Northampton area who might be prepared to help? Many thanks in advance.
  7. It never ceases to amaze me just how helpful people are on these forums! Many thanks for your very helpful replies, I have now managed to get the speedcam POIs loaded and visible. It seems that the RNS 510 unit is very sensitive when it comes to the directory structure; but by using exactly the info given in the link in Billyjim's post it is now working fine. Now all we need is to find a way to get audio warnings of proximity to POIs and we'll have it all sewn up! (Thinks, I wonder what operating system Siemens are using for these units - it would be good if it were a Unix-based one - but I guess it's a one-off special!) Once more, many thanks, guys, for your informative responses. Cheers, Colin
  8. Thanks Ray - Err, how do I re-boot the system please? I'm currently overwhelmed with all the new information about this car
  9. I'm not sure if this is the best place on the forum for this topic, but since I finally took delivery of my Superb today I'll stick it here! If any Mod/Admin wants to move it elsewhere, please feel free to do so (not that I could stop you anyway ) I have been trying to load the Pocket GPS World speed camera database using the info from http://rns510.posterous.com/tag/poinspect0r. Everything seemed to go well until I tried to find the poi category that I (thought) I had uploaded. I created a new database using a small sample of the zoned entries and copied it to an SD card. I then took the card to the car and loaded onto the hard disk as per the instructions in the link above. The Columbus unit then displayed a message to indicate that it had loaded the file and gave the instruction to remove the SD card. So far so good. But I cannot now see the new category in either the Nav or Map modes. Do any of you experts out there have any ideas about how to reveal the missing category, please.
  10. Now that's interesting. I have been told by several LPG conversion specialists that it is not possible to get the Skoda 1.8 engines converted for gas.
