  1. I changed mine to the one found in a lot of VW cars, Tiguan, T-Cross, Golf etc. Essentially as long as the release button is in the same place (front) it should fit. The one I got came from a T-Cross I think after some messing about I was able to get the gaiter off and move it over. Let me know if you want a picture as not sure I took any. Nick
  2. I could be wrong but I believe it's integral to the headlight, so replacing it would mean stripping the headlight unit down. Happy to be proven wrong of course.
  3. Hi All, After much searching the forum and Google I thought I'd ask the question, I recently pulled the door markers out which were replaced by the previous owner. They are the ones that project the "VRS" logo onto the floor, while they worked they weren't easily seen and when placing something in front of the projector I could see cracking in what was being projected. Attached are photos of the ones removed, I still have the original light but wanted to know what others had purchased like these that project the logo as I did quite like them albeit they were hard to make out.   5. @sutra so I had a crack at this over the weekend due to the nice weather, I was retrofitting an RVC. In the link below are pictures of what I needed to remove to remove the trim, you'll also see there is a join in the washer pipe right about where yours appears to be leaking (from your photo). I removed the rear boot trim that has the boot latch on it and the rear pillar trim, also the rear bench and the trim that goes over the wheel arch as this allowed for the trim to be pushed out of the way. There are 4 fixings, two with the fold out luggage hooks, one behind the rear pillar trim and the other where the rear shelf inserts. I also had to remove the two netting hooks and finally using a spline bit the lashing point right behind the rear seat, I pictured this separately as it has a cover hiding the bolt. You'll need to remove the rear luggage light as well, when I started to remove the trim piece I worked it from the rear over the lashing eye/loop fixed to the chassis. At this point I was able to reach in and disconnect the 12v socket, finally I had to lift the trim over where the seatbelt exits the trim. I wrapped the seatbelt round the rear seat that was folded down and this allowed me to move the trim far enough away to work comfortably, if you wanted to remove it completely you'd need to undo the seatbelt from the rear bench.   8. I might have a go at mine this weekend if the rain holds off. I have the variable boot floor in mine and the Canton amp, whether that makes it harder or easier I don't know! If I have any success I to will let you know.
  9. Morning, Did you have any success with removing this trim at all? I have a rear reversing camera I want to fit but when doing my dashcam for the rear I found this piece of trim to put up a fair fight, I removed all the screws I could find which look to be the same as you. Thanks, Nick
  10. My turbo on my PD140 (09 Plate) is being painful and the vacuum/actuator appears to get stuck making the car howl like a banshee. There appears to be a lot in the way from above on the FL so will go from underneath. Can I ask is the turbo easy to access from underneath as tbh I've never looked Cheers Nick

  14. Hi All, Took my Octavia down to the dealer yesterday to pick up some coolant and get my spare key programmed as when the BCM was replaced they forgot to tell me to bring the spare key. Anyway I get on well with the tech there and his passing comment was that the turbo was noisy (whistling) which I have noticed myself. Got the car June 2010 with 13k on the clock at about 15k had it remapped for better mpg & performance, guy that did it I have known for years as has remapped just about everything from Volvo's to Porches so that is not my concern. At about 42k the turbo failed and I had it replaced under warranty, failed when throttle was full shifting from 4th to 5th complete loss of power and when revved the turbo pipes where collapsing. Now I'm at 78k with the turbo as noisy as ever so are these stock turbo's just complete crap or what? Going back to my remap it's never been on a rolling road so don't know it's actual output but I don't believe it's got any more than a diesel vrs, do we know if the same parts are used for the engine ancillaries (clutch, flywheel, turbo)?   18. They're a little longer than a normal bulb, but the previous LED's I had in the housing were the same size and I ran them for 12 months I think without any heat issue. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 2

  21. Sorry I meant my DRL's are next to my fog lights as they reside in the same housing.
  22. Trouble with me is I'm a sucker for LED's I really like em and I also hate bulb warnings. I like the white DRL but as in the non vrs FL they are in the fog light housing I get sick of people flashing me and gesturing at me when I've pulled along side at a set of lights. "You've got your fog lights on" "No I haven't." "Yes you have" I then drive off. Will get a pic when the piece of junk Zafira has been moved from my drive. (Missus friend)
