  1. having tried to boost my signal and trying various methods..in the end the best fix is to replace the entire antenna base (£30 and you get the new mast too)...that solved my poor reception. Signal booster just made it worse when added to the new antenna.
  2. thanks guys, this one is sorted...the motor was knackered! checked all the wiring in everything else seemed to be in order.
  3. Hi, I'm told my air conditioning compressor has given up...I can see it but can get to the part number on the unit itself. Having searched the interwebs there seems to be a lot of revisions....would you know online where I can find which revision works for my car? Had a look here but couldn't find it 6Q0820803 this seems to be the part number but there are various suffix, like D, G and P.X, 2000 1.4 elegance hatch, engine code AUB thanks
  4. thanks for the advice...will get the tools and give it ago if the rain ever goes away.
  5. 3 years on I'm in a situation where I will need to remove the rivets at some point and want to know exactly what I need to take it off and put back on.
  6. showing details on the dash clock etc....no lights on. The car is locked and armed. Any ideas whats wrong? I'm 100% sure this isn't normal.
  7. I unscrewed it until it wouldn't go nore more and thats it it doesn't want to come off. I'm not really going to test the theory of yanking it off having spent days trying to sort out my fuzzy radio!
  8. this is the new type...it doesn't come off, its just unscrews, losens and like you said you can fold it back. just means if it ever breaks you would have to replace the whole thing.
  9. hey guys, could you help confirm/check some part numbers with me... getting confused with info from dealer and used parts specialists. 1j4959857A - driver side windows switch - been told it for an octavia but thats what the label says under the original part. Also, I have seen the same part with different ending letters, B, C etc...Would the part still work? they look the same and have the same number of pins.6Q0959811 - rear passenger window motor - rear window motor.I haven't seen the part number on my card to confirm. 3B2837016A - front driver door lock mechanism - is this correct for my car? again been told its for an octavia.I haven't seen the part number on my card to confirm. Thanks
  10. advice...i changed my head unit and the aerial cable head has snapped off...how easy is it to replace the head, get another one, cut and solder them together? I can do that bit but is there any special type to get? I have lots of spare ends. Can I just solder the right ISO connector to it? Understand that I will still need the booster. Thanks
