  1. Im experiencing same problems with my vrs, car due for first service in two weeks going to mention to dealer see if they can cure let you know later

    .

i`ve been complaining about my brakes since I bought the car

2 years ago ......... they are probably the worst brakes against

car performance I have ever known ... if I keep the car after

the warranty period .. I will fit 312`s

  2. Just driving 28 miles is not enough to recharge a flat battery...........

you either need to charge it on a battery charger or go for much longer

drive ........ I read many moons ago that it takes about 20 miles just to

put back 1 start up .......... so when you take other things using the battery like radio / wipers / heater etc

  3. I recently bought a set of valve caps that change colour

when the pressure drops by 2psi ...

they seem to work pretty good ........ have been checking

them and they do what it says on the tin .......

before that I was always looking at the tyres and thinking

they needed air but on checking they did`nt

  4. hey all how do I go about removing the rear badge???

Get some rsole to sneak onto your drive during the night and lever it

off with a blunt instrument ... leaving the paintwork chipped and a dented

just found out the scrote did 16 other local cars that night and he is being charged

for damage ......... when I discover who he is then I`m afraid he wont be able to pick

his nose for a month or two

  5. after 2 years of vRS ownership ....... I have just discovered

the fact that you can have the radio / cd player on without

the need for the key to be in the ignition :o

I dont like leaving the key in the ignition when I`m not sat in

the seat ie at petrol station etc ....... and cos my radio was always on

it used to switch off when the key is removed .... but if you push the

on/off button in and then out again the radio works without the key..

so you can have music while you are on your drive / garage without

worrying about someone jumping in your car and driving off

  6. My local shell garage in Taunton is 95.9p per Lt for diesel

have only used Shell since I bought my car in May 2005

also run my works van Peugoet Partner diesel on shell

both vehicles run smoothly and considering how the van

is thrashed daily get about 500mls from a tankfull .......

added bonus is now shell do a club card so will get some

money off fuel vouchers for my car

also double points on 200 Lts or more a month

  7. Not sure whether to be normal and get silver wheels or get white or anthracite. I'm thinking either OZ ultraleggeras, speedline turinis or Team dynamics pro race 1. Wanting a good set of light alloys.

    Opinions please!

    whatever wheels you get ...

have them sprayed white and the roof of the car

  8. inflate until no bulge from the front otherwise they will wear quickly on the edges.

I think the official figures are way too low for conti sc2

    I agree ...... I`m always thinking I have a puncture when looking

at them ......... running 36f 33r also seems to handle better

  9. [quote

The speedo is accurate thought, and if accelerating up to full speed the speedo needle slows down after it passes 90mph, which might give the impression your not going as fast as you really are.

I dont think you will find it is as accurate as you think

check it out against a talex or sat nav ............

the speedo overreads which is probably a good thing ..........

    speedo

    30mph = 27mph

    60mph = 56mph

    90mph = 84mph

if you do a search this has been discussed many times

  10. Defo go for the legal services!!! I have just had a pretty big accident, and when i comes to personal injury claims and whatnot it is invaluable. Im very glad i have it on my premium because in the long run it has saved me (maybe even made me ) a lot of money.

At the end of the day, you never know when someone might hit you like they did me and its best to be prepared for that. My two pennies worth, defo go for it.

    James

thanks James seems like a good idea then

    will go for it

  11. WELL I must add my twopennyworth to this thread :)

I have also been driving for 45 years ( 61 next month ):(

and tempting fate a clean licence also for 45yrs

during my driving career I have taken part as a driver

in rallies throughout the 70s 80s and currently drive a

van doing about 600 miles a week ...... so I think I can

say I know how to handle a car under all conditions ...

until about 3 months ago had never driven a vehicle with CC ......

but thanks to Stu I had one fitted to my vrs and have

found it to be the most usefull addition to my car .......

I wish I could have one on my van ......... I use the CC

in all sorts of circumstances .. I dont do much motorway

    driving ...... but use it on 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 mph speed limits

except when I wish to drive in a Brisk manner

I dont think I would buy a car without CC now
