I do 1000 miles a week commuting. Its 100 miles stop/start and 900 miles motorway in reasonably busy traffic.
I pay 115p a litre which works out at around £5.22 a gallon ... and the car costs on average 9.8p per mile
This averages out at 53.3mpg
The car is a 2.0 tdi DSG estate with 96,000 miles on the clock and the AirCon is always on.

Oh no ... thats not a great start is it!
I had a similar problem in 2004 when I ordered my first Mark II Octavia ... the dealership had literally no idea when it would be delivered, then all of a sudden I got the "are you coming to pick this car up today, or what?" phone call!!!
At least when you eventually receive the car you know you're gonna love it!

Thanks again for your help ... saved me breaking my car!

Cheers gents!
ShoeS700 ... if you PM me your address I will post it to you on removal ... I did put photos on my first post but they seem to have disappeared!

There was a phone holder in my car when I bought it, and I modified it to be an iPhone holder (ie, I removed the actual cradle and cut/glued my iPhone cradle onto it).
I no longer have the iPhone so the holder is surplus to requirements.
I have no idea how to get the dash mount out, but if you can post decent instructions on removal I will send you the holder/cradle for nowt lol

Thats mad ... one of two people that replies on a world wide website lives just down the road!
I wanted a VRS, but the older more sensible side of me won through hahahaha

I just stumbled across this site whilst looking for a part for my recently abused car lol
I owned an Octavia 1.9 tdi Elegance a few years ago, bought it brand new on a 54 plate not long after the new shape was released. I kept it for about a year and swapped it for a BMW 230d SE Touring (BIG mistake!) and have regretted it ever since.
Anyway, I have just bought myself an Octavia Estate 20. tdi PD DSG Laurin & Klement on an 06 plate and I LOVE it!
I will try and contribute as much as possible in a constructive manner to the forum, but my car knowledge is pretty much the same as my knowledge of astro-physics so Im probably not going to be much use hahaha.
Cheers

I had a 1.9 105 and I averaged 62mpg on the same journeys as I do in my post above in the 140bhp.
