Te control to stop you watching videos as you drive is driven from the GALA signal (this tells the radio/satnav how fast you are going and changes the volume out of the unit ) Disconnecting this from the sat nav lets you watch videos/tv . There are two feeds of GALA to the satnav but only one needs disconnecting

Did it when I was 22 ,with the north wales police .Their driving instructors trained anybody on a saturday or sunday who did the road safety evening class midweek . Back in the days when the north wales police thought educating young drivers was a good idea rather than just booking people for 3 mph over the limit . Some years I get a discount but other years a company who dont offer the discount are cheaper.

Reporter breaks an 'unbreakable' mobile phone at CES
kynastonp replied to No Waiting's topic in The Technology Shed
embarrasing but not unusual BBC journalists can break anything and I speak from experience . -
Follow the cable from the changer ,there is a 12 pin connector under the carpet where you can disconnect it.

The alarm I have is a 1213 ,the scorpion alarms go in groups 8xx,9xx,10xx,11xx,12xx,20xx,and each different group uses a different case and connector .The alarm supplied from skoda has a wiring loom with a part number from skoda and uses a 12 and 18 way connector and the same connector as the 12xx series of alarms but uses a different colour convention so without having the pinout for the connector I am stuck .I have identified most of the wires as they are common to the 1215,1218,1221 alarm but these alarms use separate remote controls and the 1213 uses the oem control so where those alarms have inputs this one has outputs and vice versa. If anyone is interested I have installation instructions for about 20 scorpion alarms from my research

Failing instruments in 1999 Octavia 1,6

Google Translate the site linked to above suggests that the problem is not the regulator but the resistors underneath it -
