  1. HI all, Long story short, I bought a 63 plate TSI VRS yesterday with 60,000 miles on the clock. About 20 minutes after leaving the garage the EML came on, so back to the garage for it to be scanned. The scan found a 'coolant temperature fault'. As garages are operating as 'click and collect' at the moment, they agreed that if the code were to return then they would arrange for the repairs to be carried out at a garage local to me. I later also noticed that the water temp gauge wasn't working properly, and the oil temp gauge on the dash was showing '--'. A search on the forum has led me to believe the most likely cause of the failure is the thermostat housing, which I believe is attached to the water pump? I believe the salesman was assuming it was a simple coolant temperature sensor fault - but I now don't think that is the case. Has anybody any experience of a similar fault? And if so what is the likely cost for Skoda to replace? Thanks in advance Ryan
  2. All the standard bumper needs is an LCR splitter
  3. I've had my Weitecs sat under my bed now for 2 months, so i think it's about time i got them on. Does anybody have a list of parts that it's advisable to replace? Top mounts, bearings etc... And a list of part numbers? Thanks
  4. I think he means to hit 300 with the k03s hybrid...
  5. +1 for buying directly from Forge. I fitted mine on Friday, you wont be dissapointed.
  6. Contact pastyboy, he has done a few group buys on badges/stickers
  7. I prefer them without stickers tbh, i couldnt imagine driving one all stickered up. People dont realise its a 'special' and i think they look tacky as hell. You can get away with it on a classic or bug eye scoob, but an octavia...really?
  8. Not that hard to fit, the hardest part is prabably getting that top pipe to fit properly, i still couldnt get it perfect but didnt want to cut any more off. I think it took about 3.5-4 hours, but if the pipe had fit without any cutting it would probably have taken around about 2 hours.
  9. Dont have any progress pics, might take some tomorrow if the weathers nice and i get time to give it a good wash. Its just a standard vrs with a front mount though. the weitecs are still under my bed waiting for me to order top mounts :(
  10. I needed to trim the top pipe quite a bit to stop it kinking when it goes through the crash bar, i must of taken at least 1 inch of each sides. Anybody else had to do this? It just wouldnt fit as it was, the pipe was nearly bent in half and i would of never got the bumper back on Also sounds differamt now, a deeper noise just before it come on boost, is this normal? Thanks Ryan
  11. Well all 4 tyres are nearly new (ditchfinders though). Let me know what your doing, if not I'll probably keep the spiders and have them done a differant colour.
  12. My best mate refurbs wheels for a living aswell, so if you did want to a deal I could get them painted any colour for you.
  13. Still on spiders atm, wheels are my next purchase.
  14. If you sell them in the near future make sure I know! I would come and get them the day you advertise them.
  15. I was hoping you would reply lee, I look at your progress thread on CS daily, its better than porn.lol No problems with the rears catching? And what size spacers are you using?
  16. I know flybikeslee does, anyone else? Im after a set, but do you have the 10'' rears? Or are you using 4 'front' wheels (7.5j?)?
  17. I have the weitecs at home waiting to go on aswell! Got a Forge fmic on order and silicone TIP to put on at the same time.
  18. Without knowing what map you currently have its hard to comment really.
  19. The standard exhaust manifold is not a restriction, so it would be pointless to change that atm, i think somebody said on here that it actually flows better than the standard manifold on the k04 based cars. What map do you have? You wont do alot with £500, maybe some coilovers or better brakes instead? Rear ARB etc etc...
  20. Have to agree with Westallc here, cannot see that being anywhere near enough for 400+bhp. Probably not THAT much more efficient than the standard smic. If you don't want a fmic on show then paint it black?
  21. Ive got a TIP and top breather from creation motorsport, the quality really is top notch.
  22. I dont think there is much point on the standard turbo. Never heard of the manifold being a restriction.
