  1. I'm running a diesel superb. Have the same problem from time to time.
Didn't Think about it at first, other than "thats a Little annoying".

But it seems to happen with some pump/nozzle/handle types. I'm not quite sure how many different pumps there is though.
I'm driving both in Denmark and Sweden and it happends mostly in Sweden.

My conclusion is that it's some kind of compatability issue somehow.

  2. The engine size is the reference or potential for engine power.

The Turbo is the extra "oxygen mask" of the engine, which translates into more power.

A normal gasoline engine is operating at 7000 RPMs at it's peak while the turbo is running at a staggering 100.000 RPM. In other words, turbo's where meant to be auxiliary power.

Running bigger and bigger turbos in ever smaller displacement engines will kill the your engine over time.

So when your buying this new fine ECO engine, your accepting a more and more fragile engine design in your car.

  3. 1.2 TSI in an Octavia is probably just fine.

But remember, to achieve 105BHP and 175Newton meter on a 1.2L is really pushing it. The turbo is probably doing a horsesjob to drag the Octavia around.

I would suspect alot of weir and teir on this little engine in this big car.

I'd go for the 1.4 TSI any day. Probably cheaper in the long run also.

  4. I was driving to a furniturestore today to look for some new kitchenchairs for my existing kitchentable

While i was there i fell in love with a new table also, so i ordered 8 new chairs and a new table.

When i was going to pick it up, the guy at the warehouse said "NO WAY it's going in there.", and i answered "You'd be surprised how much it swallows".

Then i opened up the backdoor, laid the table on the bottom and then 8 big chairs over that.

When i drove away, the guy just stood there and could still not understand.

  5. Hi

Have had a weird week with my mirrors this week.

When i got down to the car the other day, my mirrors where folded halfway in, and the internal mirrors rotated as far up as possible.

Now while i drove today, my mirror on the passenger side went from pointing inwards toward my field of view to the uppermost right position (away from me) and in just 1 second. Never have i seen the small motors go so fast while i manually adjust the mirrors,

What in gods earth are happening with my car?

  6. Hey

Just bought a Gadget at the local Gadget Store. It's called Sound Racer V8.

It's a little thing that you can install in your 12volt jack that measures the pulses from the engine and converts it to a V8 roar that is transmitted through FM directly to your speaker.

Iv'e got mine permanently installed in my trunk now. When i tune into the FM frequency it just transforms my Superb 2.0 TDI to a wild roaring V8 engine.

It must be the best 25pund i've ever spend.

You can have a look at it here (clip from youtube):

  7. Had 1st variable service today at mileage 6441 - 18 months from delivery (£217.80 inc Pollen Filter)

Advisory - Front discs corroded on inner side.

Seems quite a short period. Has anyone experience this ?

    Seams like you're an eco-driver.

Drive the car as you had stole it. It needs some rough driving sometimes. Both for the brakediscs and for the DPF.

I change discs on my girlfriends car every 15 months, she never apply the brakes.

  8. I have some mixed feelings with Columbus.

It works really well from day to day, and it covers the needs of most people.

But it freeze on occasions and is very slow.

The Columbus (RNS) software is very mature, but (i suspect) also very poorly written.
