  1. Hi Chris. Many thanks for the update. I very much like the idea of the additional USB C port by the rear view mirror. I note it says "Optional" so obviously an extra cost item. No sign of it being listed on the configurator yet so no idea of what the cost might be. Probably academic for me as my Build Week is only about 3 weeks away, so probably too late to request a change without possibly compromising an early (on time for me) delivery. Just checked the latest brochure (06/20) and it's not listed there yet, but I did notice that they have priced 2 USB C ports in the center armrest at £100!!!. Crazy!! actual cost of the components to build a twin USB power outlet would be about £1. I know because I did it on our first Yeti (See picture attached). Brilliant when placed in the Yeti Top-Box where it housed the Sat-Nav and gave me a charging point for my phone as well plus a small 12v power socket. Ahh well! No problem, I will just run a small USB power cable as usual to my Mobius dash cam. I have done it on the past two Skodas and it is pretty easy to hide the cable behind the "A" pillar trim, avoiding compromising the air bag in the process! It usually only takes me about 30 minutes to do an install. so not a big deal but that extra port would have made it really easy. Thanks again for the heads-up. Greatly appreciated!....................Tony
  2. Hi CJJE It’s all out there if you know where to look (Google Search is your friend!): Click on the links.... LINK 1 LINK 2 LINK 3 All pretty much the same narrative but it may help. If you are thinking of adding the 360 Vision to your order, it may be best to do it sooner than later as it can affect your Build Week. It can lead to a delayed build, but on occasions, has brought the Build Week forward! It all depends on what slots the factory have available and additions can and do change things. Best of luck!.......Tony PS: I was fortunate enough to be in Portugal when they had the International Launch for the Kodiaq (2016 / 17?) . We blagged a demo from one of the demo crew. Only round the test track for about 30 minutes or so but WOW! What an eye opener that was then. The 360 vision coupled with autonomous vehicle maneuvering totally blew our minds. It is VERY impressive!!!!
  3. Hi Guys KESSY Update: I had a call from our brilliant dealership (Simpsons of Preston) last week advising that our new Scala SEL DSG 1.0L has a build date of week 33. The beginning of August, and that it will be a Model Year (MY) 2021 with the new "MY" upgrades. Hopefully it will be here for September as our current Karoq P.C.H. ends then. (I am assured I will not be left without a vehicle whatever happens!) Amongst the upgrades is “KESSY” and to quote Škoda “In the optional KESSY keyless vehicle entry system, the transmitter signal now deactivates if the key has not been moved for five minutes, instead of the previous 15 minutes” Some of the other 2021 MY changes are: A new steering wheel / Kessy operating on all four doors (? - Certainly on some models though dealer could not confirm on Scala) / Modified engines across the Škoda range to Euro 6d standard / Multifunction storage pocket underneath the boot cover for extra storage (Coats etc) / An activated carbon filter that can also remove allergens from the air and one or two other minor items. I am given to understand that the Karoq also gets many of the new "upgrades" I'm looking forward to the Scala. It will be our fourth Škoda - Two Yeti and a Karoq so far and all been completely fault free! And yes, they have all been DSG! - I hate to say it but the Karoq has the Yeti beaten in my opinion! That's something I thought I would NEVER say!! Hope the above info is helpful - Stay safe and well..............Tony
  4. Hi Guys: P6bJOHN - Yetiherts & Tarby Many thanks for the replies - Sorry for the delay in replying! P6bJOHN. Yes I suspect you are correct! I have used them now for the past nine years and have only good things to say about them! Service and sales departments are superb in my experience, A real can-do attitude and always with a smile. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. Our sales Guy Ian is superb! Yetiherts. Thank you so much for taking the trouble to measure it for me! All the other information is most welcome. Good information that brochures don’t give!. Like you, we also had a Yeti previously. Two in fact, one after the other! I was so disappointed when we last came to change that we could no longer get a Yeti. They were amazing and always put a smile on my face whenever I drove them, I thought we would not find a car to equal them! Disappointment turned to sheer joy when we finally drove the Karoq. Škoda had done the impossible (in my mind anyway). They had made huge steps forward over the Yeti in terms of comfort and reliability and the 1 litre engine is a dream. Up until going to look for its replacement, we had not once had to return to the dealership for anything whatsoever! Hope the Scala is as good! Tarby. Kind and encouraging words indeed. Yes, hopefully no delays for delivery with such a long lead time. Interestingly, when we got our first Yeti, it was a 26 / 28 week delivery for factory orders. Even towards the end of that time scale, we had no indication of a build date! Then, early on a Friday afternoon in August 2010 I happened to call in the showroom whilst out shopping with SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed) and we spoke to our salesman. Sorry Sales Executive! He said he had checked the system that morning and still no update on the Build Date. He then proceeded to show me the system online, and sure enough the Build Date entry was blank. He continued to point out several things on the page when suddenly the page refreshed and in the column was shown “Built” with a time adjacent showing the current time (13:14)!!! Hallelujah“ Now the wait begins” was what he said next. He anticipated several weeks before it would arrive at the dealership. Fast forward to the Tuesday (only 4 days Later) at 9am. A phone call from our dealership; “Guess what I am looking at” Yes! “Tigger” had arrived! Everything must have fell just right with transportation and shipping and we took delivery the following day. Don’t suppose anything like that could happen again - but you never know! We have absolutely loved the 1 litre TSI engine in the Karoq and really wanted another, but it was not available in that model. What we were offered was a Karoq with either a 1.5 litre TSI (almost double the price on PCH) or a 1.6 Diesel which we definitely did not want, and yet again considerably more expensive. We also had the choice of a Kamiq or a Scala with the 1 litre TSI. We really liked the Scala and the price was amazing, beating anything the competition had into a cocked hat!. So, SWMBO saw the SEL in Energy Blue and thought it was great and after a quick test drive. that’s what we ordered! Thanks again for your input and info! All greatly appreciated! Stay Well & Stay Safe…………..My best regards….Tony
  5. Hi Guys 🖐️ I managed to get my order in for a new Scala 1 litre SEL with DSG before we needed to isolate ourselves for the next 12 weeks. Our 4th Škoda and our 3rd using PCH. We currently have a 1litre Karoq SEL / DSG, but our PCH runs out on the 31st of August. The very BEST car we have ever owned! Would have loved another but as many will be aware, the Karoq is not currently available with the 1 litre engine. Apparently they are in short supply (popularity / reliability) and they are being reserved for new models across the VAG network such as the Škoda Scala, V.W. T-Cross etc. I believe they are to be reintroduced at some time, according to our dealer, but no dates as yet. We had wanted to stick with the 1 litre engine or something very similar and so after a good look around everywhere and after being offered an amazing PCH deal with our favourite dealership, we decided that our new car come, September 1st will be a Scala. The SEL has almost all the “bits” we would normally order, but we added Heated Seats as the Old Bones appreciate the added comfort. Hoping that the Scala will give me similar MPG to the Karoq!🤞 PCH, for anyone wondering. Means “Personal Contract Hire”. This comprises of a deposit and 23 monthly payments. The car is registered as a private lease (Hire) with a leasing company (in our case VW Finance). When the lease has run its term, you hand the car back - That’s it. The lease company put the car on the road and Tax it for the two years. You put fuel in and insure it and make sure the car is in reasonable condition on its return. Full manufacturers warranty, breakdown assistance etc etc is included, along with a milaege allowance of 8000 mile per year. Additional mileage is available for a small uplift in cost. The BIG advantage is it is a very cheap way to run a new car for 2 years and it’s so simple. For example: Our SEL DSG with the addition of the heated seats (a £255 optional extra). Works out at £54 per week including the initial deposit VAT etc! A Scala 1 liter SE Manual is just a tad under £45 a week! If I can help anyone who needs more details, send me a PM here at Briskoda together with your email address and I will try and help. When our dealer checked lead times for a factory order it was running at 10 to 12 weeks. I wonder how Coronavirus will affect that? Hopefully, ours should not be impacted too much as its currently 23 weeks before we anticipate delivery. QUESTION: I wonder if I could trouble some kind soul for a favour. I need to know the height of the tailgate lip from the floor when it’s fully open. Could you measure it for me please? It was the one thing I forgot when reviewing our prospective order and cannot find the information anywhere online, and the “retail” side of things is rather restricted by people working from home etc. so no joy there either. Many thanks in advance! Stay well everyone and hopefully we will make it through to the other side of Covid19…….Tony
  6. Hi Paul 🖐️ In answer to your question and as I said in my original post: "I managed to fit all four mud flaps in about an hour, and without the need to remove any of the wheels. Just putting the steering on opposite locks gave me sufficient room to work " No need to jack the car etc. It's REALLY easy and fitting all four mudflaps took me less than an hour (& and i'm 73 and not as fit as I once was!). Read the original posts second Paragraph and the Note about the expanding rivet, and you will do it easily!.....Best of luck......Tony
  7. UPDATE 17th Feb 2020 Well it's almost 10 years on from my original post and just become aware that the previous Link has stopped working for some reason, no idea why! Anyway it seems like people are still trying to access the original PDF, so I thought it best to provide a working Link....... LINK Sorry if the failure of the original Link caused anyone any problems! Hopefully this one will continue to work for as long as it's needed! Stay safe and happy (Yeti) motoring!.........Tony
  8. Hi PlinY Sorry the original link has failed 😞 No idea why but here is the link again: LINK I will post an update in original post in the Technical Guides section - Thanks for the "Heads Up" about the link not working! Hope this helps............Tony (Great Yeti)
  9. Hi J.R. Thank you for your most kind comments. As you correctly pointed out, I was only one of many who attempted to assist other Yeti owners in the Technical Guides Section. Some may be gone from here, but are not forgotten! I must say that when I first discovered Briskoda back in 2010, I was most encouraged and impressed by the people who contributed to the Yeti section. It always has been an amazing place to find new friends and exchange ideas and information, especially in the Yeti Technical Guides section. I have always found it to be not only informative but exceptionally helpful and especially friendly! I still drop in to Yetiland now and again. often just for something to make me smile and see what old friends are upto! Sadly I (we) are now Yetiless and have been since we took delivery (August 2018) of our new Karoq. I miss the friendly banter that you can always find here in Yetiland. It's not quite so prevalent in other sections in my humble opinion. I put that down to the Yeti's ability to always put a smile on your face whenever out and about in a Yeti. On a different note, when we first went, somewhat reluctantly, to test drive a Karoq. We were not expecting to be impressed, as in our prior opinion, NOTHING could possibly compare with a Yeti! Boy, were we wrong. We have a 1.0 litre DSG SEL Karoq now and it is an amazing car. Many of the attributes of the Yeti were carried over and some new ones added. The result is a very good family car. Lots of room and the 1.0 Litre engine is so quite and surprisingly powerful. Paired with the DSG the engine is amazing! Due to my wife's poor health we only manage a few short runs these days but they do cover all types of road. We seem to average around 48 MPG overall (Tank Full to Full). Who knows what we would get on a halfway decent run. Anyway, thanks once again for your comments. And to all the other people who inhabit Yetiland.......Please keep smiling and helping each other - My best wishes to all, new friends and old........Tony
  10. Thank you Ulisse . The photograph and information is a very welcome addition to this (now quite old) thread...........Tony
  11. I think you will find that they do fit. Not quite perfectly but pretty well! - I too had a Yeti and the rubber mats from that happily reside in our Karoq............Tony
  12. Hi Sjrcass Glad to see that some of the PDFs I created such a long time ago are still helping members here. The technical section is a great place to share information and has helped me tremendously in the past! Anyway, Thank You for the kind comment. It is much appreciated.....Yours in friendship...Tony
  13. Hi Rosegrrl Believe it or not, the car is doing what it is supposed to do. It's actually alerting you to the fact that the windows control module has lost its "Force Limiter Setting" Just as a previous poster (S76) was telling you. The Force limiter is a safety setting to prevent injury should anyone have any part of their body between the window and the door frame whilst it is being closed. To reset it is very simple (and covered in the owners handbook) But for ease, here are the instructions for you: NOTE: Each window must be reset individually: 1 Turn on the ignition 2 Using the appropriate switch fully open (send down) the window and release the switch 3 Now fully close the window (send up) 4 Release the switch 5 Pull on the switch again as if to close it and hold for a second or two This action causes the window control module to relearn the force for the force limiter function. A vital safety function which the car is telling you, by sending the windows down, has lost its setting. The setting can be lost when the battery has been disconnected and if the battery voltage is low for any reason. Even cranking the vehicle over when the battery is on the low side can cause some features to shut down. Its an old Briskoda cherry that has been doing the rounds for a few years now and literally has had dozens of threads on it in this and other sections over the years. It's not uncommon for people to find that they (including dealerships) miss the fact that the switch MUST be released between the operations in performing this reset procedure. Anyway, I hope this helps and solves the problem for you................Tony
  14. If I am reading this correctly? You are missing a step in the power (Window Force Limiter) reset. 15. As per my first comment on your original posting - The cake was fantastic but the icing was superb! Many many thanks for the time and effort you have put in in getting these for myself and many others on Briskoda. It really is appreciated and a BIG thanks for remembering the request! I hope that one day I may be able to return the favour! ....Sincerely, Tony
  16. Hi Karoq-N-Roll Fortunately I still had my [Front] fitting instructions and I have scanned them into a PDF for you. I will try and find the instructions for the rear set. I may still have them somewhere. I will place a link to the documents in the “Škoda Karoq [Technical] Guides section so others may find them should they require. I have scanned the instructions as a shortened and smaller file with U.K. instructions only, and also a larger second PDF complete with all the languages that the original contained. Note: When fitting the “Expanding Rivet” you may find it difficult to push home the plastic pin. If you do, enlarge the hole to 6.2mm. This will ensure that the pin engages easily and firmly. This problem is caused by the way the plastic pin expands the rivet in the thick plastic wheel arch liner. It does not take long to fit them I managed to fit all four flaps in about an hour without the need to remove any of the wheels. Just putting the steering on opposite locks gave me sufficient room to work and you can wind a 6mm (6.2mm) drill through the liner by hand quite easily if you do not have a right angle drill adapter. Hope this helps you! Regards…….Tony PDF LINKS: Karoq Mud Flaps [Front] UK Version Karoq Mud Flaps [Front] International Version
  17. Fitting mud flaps to the Škoda Karoq is a simple DIY job with only a minimum of tools required. I have scanned the [Front] fitting instructions into a PDF for you. (I will try and find the instructions for the rear set. I may still have them somewhere. I will post them here when I find them) I have scanned the instructions as a shortened and smaller file with U.K. instructions only, and also a larger second PDF complete with all the languages that the original contained for our friends abroad. 18. Mike, Just read your PM - Sincere thanks! You are amazing.......Tony
  19. BRILLIANT! just what the doctor (DIY Mechanic) ordered. Absolutely invaluable Seriously, I cannot thank you enough for taking the time and trouble to post these, So many members here will find these so helpful......Tony PS: If you ever come across the manual for the 1.0 liter TSI, that would be the icing on the cake?................
  20. I hope you have allowed for the fact that there are Air Bags within the seat backrest and that fitting seat covers do not compromise their operation?....Tony
  21. Good Morning John. Sorry to say but the door mirror heaters are manual control only! They DO NOT turn off after a preset time as you had thought. It's been a topic on here before when people have suddenly found that the heater matrix behind (bonded to) the mirrors have failed as they have been left on. Lots of suggestions of how they could / should have been configured but that's the way they have been on the Yeti & others since they were introduced.........Tony
  22. Yes, I am afraid you are. It does fold up correctly on ours, and it should on yours. If you read the manual, it details an extra manoeuvre that needs to be done when pushing down on the centre seat prior to lifting it up against the centre console........Tony
  23. Morning :-) I think you will find it is the software on the Nokia phone that is incompatible with the car. I recently bought two Nokia 216 phones to use in our Yeti and now our new Karoq. Whilst the Bluetooth version on the phones is (I think!) the latest one available. The software that drives the phone is peculiar to Nokia. In my case , its "Windows Series 30+". This results in only certain facilities of the phone being able to be used. The most annoying of which is that the Phone Book (contacts) only displays phone numbers! No Name and no picture! I tried putting your vehicle / phone combination into the Skoda Compatibility checker [LINK = https://compatibilitylist.skoda-auto.com/ ] and it unfortunately shows no compatibility whatsoever for the 220. Perhaps you might like to try it? It appears that this software has issues with a number of different manufacturers and that you and I have fallen foul of this irritating problem. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Chin-up, not the end of the world but annoying nonetheless.........Tony
  24. Last Post! Well I hope not, but it is my last post as a Yeti owner. Today we pick up our new Moon White Karoq. A 1.0 litre TSI with DSG and a few extras. Whilst looking forward to the new vehicle, I will really miss the friends and comradeship that I have found here in the Yeti section. I find the Yeti section to be the most friendly of all the sections here at Briskoda. So, with your permission, I will continue to haunt these hallowed halls and may occasionally chip in my two penn’orth in the hope that I will still be welcome and may even be able to help someone - who knows. In 2010 we became one of the relatively early owners of a Yeti. A 1.2 DSG SE. A vehicle which was replaced by another in 2016, identical except for colour and that it was a Face-Lift version Yeti. That means we have had Yeti’s for eight years now and the only fault was a delaminated screen on the first car. So for those who are interested / concerned regarding MPG. I have kept Brim to Brim records of our fuel consumption on our second Yeti, and over the last two years it has achieved 46.77 MPG! Mostly over A & B roads with some occasional motorway work. So, no mechanical, paintwork or electrical issues on two Škoda Yeti’s in the last eight years and excellent MPG to boot! Who could complain! Well, ME! Oh Škoda, why are you not still making this amazing vehicle that after eight years still puts a big smile on my face whenever I get behind the wheel? I am living in hopes that the Karoq may do the same - we will see…. As always, my very best wishes to all here and especially to those who have helped me during the last happy eight years of Yeti ownership. Most of which I am proud to call friends. Stay safe! All my best……….Tony
  25. Picking up our SE-L tomorrow. We had a choice of either Mitikas or Braga wheels as a no cost option on SE-L spec. Went for the Braga (Top most Pic). We saw both in-the-flesh and prefered the Braga. Also ordered the spare wheel option and heated seats.
