  1. The difference is in the size of the expanded polystyrene container. One will fit inside a 16inch spare wheel and the other an 18inch.
  2. I have a 2010 1.8TSI and it has happened to me twice recently but only in Northern France. The first time I was at a small filling station and only managed 8 litres before I gave up. I stopped later on a Motorway but had the same problem. Back in England and the problem vanished. After long or short journeys I've had no issues since. Baffled from Bolton Graham
  3. I reported vibration when changing into second gear to my Dealer last August, two months before the warranty expired. The car had done 21,000 miles and without a test drive the Dealer agreed over the phone to replace the double clutch unit as they said that this was the problem. The car was duly booked in for three days and a courtesy car supplied. The car has performed perfectly since. I understand that the replacement is a modified item to prevent the build-up of dust within the unit. My advice is to insist the unit is replaced before the warranty expires. It's a known fault across the VW group so your problem should be rectified without argument. Graham
  4. Don't stand any nonsense - Insist the faults are rectified to your complete satisfaction under the terms of the Warranty. The Dealers know what the fault is and should react accordingly. Don't be fobbed off. Graham
  5. My DSG 7 started juddering in second gear in August this year with 21000 miles on the clock. A telephone call to my Dealer-Claybank Motors-Eccles resulted in the car being booked in for 2 days to have the clutch pack replaced. This was done entirely on my description of the fault-there was no suggestion that the fault was likely to be anything else. I was given a new Octavia as a Courtesy Car and the job was completed on time and the car, which was returned to me spotless, has since performed perfectly. It's obvious that this is a wide spread problem and it is ridiculous that some Dealers won't accept the fact.
  6. Thanks for that - mine do the same but then vanish without trace possibly after three or four weeks. I input them again and all is ok for a while and then they vanish again. Frustrating to say the least because I only realise they aren't there when I need them. Graham
  7. Can anybody suggest why the pre-set telephone numbers on my Columbus screen occasionally disappear Even though the telephone book list is intact. The mobile is a Galaxy GT S5360 and this works perfectly Cheers. Graham
  8. My Samsung Galaxy GT-S5360 connects to the car and works perfectly for three start-ups and on the fourth attempt gives the message 'no Bluetooth connection available'. If I then turn off and then turn on Bluetooth on the phone it then works for three more start-ups. I've disconnected and re-connected at the phone and in the car to no avail but haven't come across the 'always connect' prompt. My wifes Motorola works faultlessly. Graham
  9. I have subscribed to this Mag. for years and it is as good as any in keeping me up-to-date with the happenings in the world of Motoring and reasonably priced. What annoys me the most is when the photos in the road tests are not of the model or spec that they have actually tested. This particular thread relates to the current edition of the Mag.and the dash photo. shows a DSG when they tested a manual The test in issue 1251 was for a L&K yet all the pictures were of an Elegance model. This happens regularly with all makes and models and can be very misleading. I think I'll waste some time and write to the Editor!!!!!!! Regards to all Graham
  10. Hi Steve Shouldn't happen in this Country unless towing in very hot weather. I had this on an Octavia 1.8 a few years ago and it was a faulty temperature sensor - fixed by the Dealer while I waited. Just book it in and let the Dealer worry about it - not you. Cheers Graham
  11. Thanks Al & Bill Would you believe - its worked perfectly all day - no obvious explanation. Cheers Graham
  12. I know this topic has been done to death but I have a problem that doesn't seem to have been mentioned. I paired a Motorola with my MY11 Elegance when new and it has worked faultlessly until today when I successfully paired a Galaxy GT S5360. When I attempt to make or receive a call the car audio mutes but no sound relating to the phone calls can be heard. This happens whichever phone I select. End the call and the audio returns. Anyone know what I've done wrong? Graham
  13. To save myself the trouble of measuring can anyone tell me the minimum size of pre-cast garage needed to house a Superb with enough room to exit through the drivers door - I am average build. Graham
