Here in Israel I've heard more than once about out of warranty goodwill repairs regarding this issue. I guess it shouldn't be any different in UK. However this appears to be problem only with earlier models of 1.2 TSI. The way I understand it, the new models have a redisigned camchain and tensioner so it shouldn't be a problem on newer engines. I for sure am not worried about this with my new Yeti.

Had this on my 1.2 Octy which eventually resulted in timing chain skipping. Definitely not something to ignore.

I have a 1.2 manual with 3500 km on the clock. I've found it to be VERY sensitive to the way you're driving. Being gentle on throttle and shifting up quickly plays a major part with this engine in the Yeti. Crusing at 90km/h I get around 5.5l/100km. Doing 120km/h I get around 7l/100km. Heavy right foot will get you easily into 10l/100km. krko

Just curios, how do you do it? All best, krko

Going to the beach... it's around 30 degrees celsius here in Tel Aviv. Having said that, would give anything for some snow.

If you thought the Nissan Juke was polarising in the looks dept...

For what it's worth we own both a Yeti (1.2 TSI Manual) and a Superb (1.8 TSI DSG) and I prefer the Yeti

Glad you got it sorted out! Now you'll be able to enjoy your Yeti

Hello all, I received my Yeti 2 weeks ago after having to wait for it for 10 long days (at least there are some advantages to being in Israel) . It's a 1.2 TSI manual, candy white. Just thought I might share some pictures of it... All best, krko

This would be my fourth Skoda After replacing my 2 years old Octavia for Superb I'll probably replace the 1 year old Fabia for Yeti :) The questions I have: 1. Does the 2x4 offer any more off road capabilities than a regular car? 2. Does it have the "off road" mode (like 4x4) or any other "off road" settings not found in a regular car? I'm not going to use it much off road just curious wether I should go for the 4x4 models or stick with 2x4. Thank you in advance, krko

Bought a brand new Fabia a week ago. After driving it for about 500km I noticed that starting the car requires to hold the starter a bit longer than normal. Took it to my local dealer (in Israel) and they diagnosed faulty injectors! How bad luck is that! This completely ruined the experience of buying a new car for me :( Maybe I'm exaggerating but all I'm thinking of is what else is wrong with the car... bummer... krko
