Cheers guys!! £79 for cooler and seals, ordered yesturday at 2pm and arrived this morning
-
I have ordered the new part from the dealer today and it was £235.46 (ouch) for the cooler and seals.....I thought I found one for £65 on eBay but turns out in was the gearbox oil cooler not the engine oil cooler. Does that sound about the right price?
Cheers guys

So it shouldn't be anything to do with the service then? Just can't understand why after 57k miles the oil coolers fooked :s Cheers guys

Hi guys, had my 09 Octavia VRS LE tdi for a couple of months and serviced it myself a few weeks ago. Yesturday I had the coolant light flash up so checked the coolant only to find what I can only describe as greyish sloppy water.
I read up to see what it could be and my research has led me to believe it's the oil cooler failing but I'm just wondering if it could be anything linked with the service or am i just panicking? Everything went okay when I did the service and it runs fine, just the coolant light flashed up
Thanks in advance

I have a problem with the deadlocking on my 04 octty VRS, When it locks once you pull off the passenger door locks and then unlocks straight away. It does it about 75% of the time but the rest of the doors are ok. Anyone else had this problem and if so what was the problem?
Cheers

Thats what I thought about the lack of feel as i was used to the biteyness of my Fabia VRS clutch. It wasnt a Skoda dealer as they quoted £800 wheareas the garage i went to charged me £650, should have been about £600 but they found a seal that was leaking so replaced that at the sametime.
They said they used an OE LUK clutch kit and DMF but you never know with these garage really.
It's been back once already as i had the throttle bodies cleaned and reset cause it had the horrible surge and drop in power at low revs, but the lad that took it out said that he couldn't feel anything and to be honest my dads drove it too and he said it was ok, however its an irritating intermitent problem just like the surging that no one else could feel :/
WIll just run it for a bit and see what happens, but to be honest if I had the chance i'd rip it out and try the G60/VR6 setup I think.
Thanks for the input matey

Had a new DMF and LUK clutch kit fitted for about 1k now and to be honest from the day i drove it away it has this annoying grating feel to the pedal but no noise what so ever, however the problem is not all the time as some days you can drive it the 20 miles to work and it'll be perfect. It also seems have no feel to it with regards to pulling off and bringing the pedal up after a gear change which i dismissed as user error as I was used to the old dead clutch but I'm now starting to think otherwise. Also did a hillstart today which started the grating feel off??
Just wondered if anyones had the same problem and if so what was it. The clutch is warrantied for 12k miles which is one of the reasons i didn't go for the G60 SMF and VR6 clutch conversion.
Cheers

Hi there, looking at getting JOM coilovers from DPM however im struggling to find anywhere to fit them. I live in the Isle of Man and nowhere fits them here so will have to have them fitted around the area i used to live because thats where i stay when i go over. I'm just wondering if anyone knows where abouts i could get them fitted, around the derbyshire area would be best.
Thanks alot

I'm only lowering the car for looks and improve the handling a little...i don't really want a bumper scraping drop, just enough to reduce the existing arch gap? would it be better going for eibach springs with a 20-25mm drop?
-
would they be any good > http://www.dcperformance.co.uk/cheap/349367/skoda/ap-suspension-kits/sp82-018.html ? says it lowers the car 25mm which i suppose would be enough
-
didn't really want to go for coilovers due to cost really :/

I'm looking at lowering my 2007 Fabia VRS and have seen some 30mm Cobra springs > http://www.dcperformance.co.uk/cheap/470630/skoda/cobra-lowering-springs/co7024.html . I'm just wondering if anyone has these springs and are they any good as i don't want the car to scrape or be too bouncy?
Thanks guys Josh

im 18 with 0 no claims and a claim in august 2010, costs me £980 fully comp with admiral couldn't believe it.

The way i was looking at doin it was get a stereo fascia, iso adaptor and aerial adaptor and just put my sony HU in, but the only problem i have then is whether the existing aux input, MDI and steering wheel volume controls will work which to be honest i dont think will. :/
-
will have a look at that then...could be a possible route. I know it sounds stupid but it wont affect the sound quality at all will it? and where abouts will the remote wire for the amp connect to? Thanks alot for the help guys
-
didn't think it would somehow just wanted tto find out from someone who knew rather then removing the stereo to find out......wont bother for a few years then :/ :L
Thanks tho
