  1. Car in question is an Octy FL 2009 1.8 TSi. Has done 20k kms till date. Problem - I'm having a unique sort of a problem with the air conditioning. When I start the car, the A/C works as it should without any issues at all. However, 15-20 mins in, the air con slowly stops cooling. It is more of a gradual fading in the cooling effect. This problem is instantly solved if i switch off and on the car. I did a scan with VCDS but no errors are coming up. I took it to the dealer and he's saying the compressor is faulty and needs to be replaced. I fail to understand how a compressor can conk off within 2 years and less than 10k kms of driving. Another peculiar thing that has started along with the air con issue is that no matter how long or short the drive the engine fans stay on after the car's been switched off. Also, after the air con has stopped cooling, when I depress the clutch I can feel a motor whirring away for about 5 seconds and then cut off again, this keeps repeating at short intervals. Are these things related ?? How come there aren't any errors on VCDS ?? IS there something I should check or look out for ?? Need help guys, a new compressor with fitting and everything is upwards of 1000 pounds. !!!
  2. Just ask your dealer to do a software update on the engine via VAS. I got the gear shift indicator automatically on the update.
  3. Happened to me when I was getting the interior detailed, but the swing player displayed a message saying - LOW BATTERY .. quite a neat feature IMO.
  4. I had retrofitted a 3 spoke multi function steering wheel with the phone button.. There was a time when I only had the MFSW and not the oem Bluetooth, I had tried to code the phone button to work as the source changing but iirc it didn't work that way. But, I can't speak for the new steering wheel controller in the slip ring as I have the old steering wheel module.
  5. Anyone have a full list of the part numbers ? 1) Headlight switch surround 2) Small piece on the otherside of the steering wheel (in-line with the headlight switch) 3) Straight trim piece between the passenger side airbag and the glovebox 4) Fascia surrounding the Swing player/ Bolero ( w/ manual a/c) 5) Ashtray box 6) Gear box surround trim 7) Trim near the power windows on all four doors PLease feel free to add any parts i'm missing out on !! Thanks
  6. I think 2 x threaded ball extensions should do the trick having seen the video. A bracket might need extra drilling.
  7. So, I'm going for it, not a substantial investment, might just work out .. However need help from you guys ... I'm calling for a gas strut from MK5 golf and a M8 threaded ball extension 10mm from sgs engineering. Only thing I need to know now is which bracket will I need to fit the Octavia's engine bay ? Here's a link of the list of available brackets ( I'm thinking the 90deg one should probably do the trick). http://www.sgs-engin..._stud_bracket/#
  8. Me too would be interested if it's not too much of a hassle to fit on.
  9. I have a 3d mat in my car that covers the dead pedal next to the clutch but not the one next to the accelerator.. yea I would def buy one !!
  10. The coding is very easy, just simply checkboxes within the Steering wheel option on vcds. I had the old type module that was below the steering wheel column and not the slip ring that you have and to control the maxidot functions the wiper stalk worked as default after the MFSW retrofit and inorder to use the scroller on the MFSW I had to code it such that the wiper stalk did not have the rocker buttons. It may sound complicated, but it is dead easy... especially on the 5K0 steering modules as they are only checkboxes in vcds to tick.
  11. Actually I was hoping that it was something like that, so I tried activating it with my VCDS cable as IMO it's a good reminder to have. But had it checked and double checked at the workshop and skoda have not provided any connection to the seat belt clip at all.:-(
  12. We don't have the seat belt warning here from the factory itself, except for on the l&k. I would like to believe that the pre-tensioner and the airbag are working fine.
