  1. Hi there, passat R-line cheaper than the Did anyone consider the Passat before getting their Superb? THere's some very good deals on Carwow at present meaning I could get a Passat R-line cheaper than the equivalant Sportline! Were there any reasons for discounting the VW if it was an option? Thanks Mark
  2. Hi all, It's been a while since I've been on here, other the browsing, but there's a good chance that I'll be returning to the fold. I just wanted to ask what peoples experience of the Extreme alloys was, comfort wise. Is the DCC a must with them? Most of my driving will be motorway, 500 mile round trip to work!! So, it needs to be pretty comfortable. I'm looking at the 245 or the 184, I know which is the most sensible, but sensible isn't everything!! Thanks Mark
  3. After reading this I might have to reconsider my potential plan to change my petrol VRs to a diesel one. I'm currently getting 430 miles to a tank, my daily commute is 130 miles, mostly on the motorway & A-roads. It's a petrol DSG with 6800 miles on the clock. I'm usually doing 70-75 on the motorway, so not driving slowly. Either my engine is very good or the TDi doesn't seem too good by comparison :(
  4. Thanks for all the input so far, much appreciated. I'm going to be working nights, so hopefully as I go in, everyone else is leaving London & vice versa! I don't start till July so i'll give it a few months & see what it's like anyway, only potential problem might be mileage on the PCP, it's 8000 per year!! Oops
  5. I had thought about the diesel VRs, but i wouldn't get the 0% finance, which I've got now. I'll be working 4 on, 4 off, so around 40 sets of shifts per year. I'm guessing that what I'll save in fuel in the long run will offset the loss I'm going to take if I change the car so early.
  6. Hi all, I've run into a major headache, just got a new job which means a 70 mile trip to & from work each day. The problem part of it is I picked up my new VRs Tsi in mid-Feb, when I wasn't doing many miles at all!! The fuel costs for the run to work are going to be pretty high (560 miles per set of shifts), & the sensible option would be a diesel. I'm aware that if I change I'm going to be hit in the pocket badly but will it be worth it long term, with the better fuel consumption the diesel will give? The commute will be 90% motorway, down the M4 to Heathrow so I should get around 380-400 miles from the VRs per tank. The other thing is, I really like the petrol Vrs & I'm trying to decide if the car can justify how high the fuel costs are going to be Any help/advice/thoughts would be very welcome!! Cheers
  7. Car picked up today & it's fantastic, well worth the wait. I love it. I'll get some pics up when I figure out how!!
  8. Mine is arriving at the dealers today  Pick up is arranged for lunchtime on Friday, feeling like a kid waiting for Christmas now, can't wait!
  9. Got the call yesterday, my BW3 VRs had arrived at Sheerness & getting taken off the boat. Dealer was hopeful that it would get to them in the next few days, then window tints & PDI before a possible pickup next weekend, hopefully. Can't wait
  10. Got the news that I'd been waiting for yesterday, the car's been built & on it's merry way to Emden. So hopefully, not too much longer. I'll be taking delivery as soon as I can, waited too long not to. Plus, managed to get his & hers reg numbers! (sad isn't it ). the missus picked up her Fabia Monte Tech before Christmas.
  11. Spoke to my dealer today & had my BW3 confirmed, at last. I wouldn't be lying if I said that I was just a little relieved!! Just got the wait for it to arrive now, mid Feb hopefully.
  12. Still provisional BW3 for me according to SUK, but been told there's no reason for it to be moved. I'll be collecting mine as soon as possible, assuming it gets built!! ordered 31 Aug. VRs hatch DSG Race blue Canton Sunroof Black pack Spare Colour maxidot Can't wait!
  13. When I went in to check on my BW, the dealer said that the demand for VRs's is much greater than anticipated. Skoda were expecting around 20/25% of orders to be VRs, apparently its nearer 50% of Octavia orders! He also said that company car orders would be stopped, so as retail cars only would be built. Bit of a balls up by Skoda if it's true!! Currently i'm still BW3 (ordered 31 Aug), hopefully with the factory closing for Christmas today, that won't change
  14. Ordered my VRs hatch 31st August, had a provisional BW49, fell off the system completely 3 weeks before it was due to be built Now got a provisional (still!) BW3, so hopefully mid Feb delivery
  15. As I'd had no information from my dealer, I thought I'd ring & find out if there had been any changes to my build week, I think I wish I hadn't bothered. I ordered at the end of August for a mid-Jan delivery as I'm currently in a cast after an op on my foot. Got a build week of 48, it slipped to 49 around 3 weeks ago & I foolishly thought I was safe!! Big mistake. I now have no build week at all! Not a very happy person at all, as I would guess that my mid-Jan delivery won't be happening. If they can't manage to deliver for mid-Jan, which would have given them 4.5 months, I'm tempted to cancel the order & look elsewhere. Problem with that is I really fancy the Vrs & what would I replace it with? The though of starting the process again isn't very appealing.
