Hi All, Thanks for your help with some questions I asked over the weekend. Test drove the Enyaq 80 today, really like it so we placed an order. Pretty much ticked every option box. Now the wait , around 3 -4 months but we will see. The spec is: 80x sportline - racing blue 21" wheels All the plus packs (lights, comfort, drive, parking, etc) Sunroof Retractable towbar (read here about issue with bike racks) Came out at 56k Obviously you will never get the money back on all the packs but wanted to order something I will really like. We are part exchanging my wife's Kodiaq as they offered us a great deal on it

Hi All, Just getting ready to order the Enyaq on Monday if our test drive goes well. Was looking at the head pump but from this thread it doesn't appear to be worth it, any change of opinion from anyone on this?

Thanks for the responses, think I will stick with the 80x , will probably place an order next week. They lady at the dealership told me lead times were shorter for the 80x (probably due to price).

Hi All, Not been on the site for a while but had many Skoda's over the years, given this week's fuel crisis it's confirmed my choice to go Electric. Going to chop in my Superb 280 l&k, been a great car for the last four years. Test drive of an Enyaq 80 on Monday, have a very high spec 80x done on the configurator (around 55k) with every option ticked. I hear there is a vRS coming, anyone know when this will be available for order. Debating placing the 80x order next week unless the vRS is a big difference . Guessing around a 4-5 month lead time Thanks.

When I specced and ordered my 280, I was going to add the Sunroof and a couple of others bits but refused due to this disgraceful tax, it's not even about doing the right thing i.e. heavy polluting vs envirmentally friendly. I kept my order just under 40K to make sure I wasn't going to be fleeced, even though the discounted price I paid was 32.5K the tax is at the RRP irrespective of the discounts. Anyway, I'm massively happy with my 280, once you get over the shock of MPG when coming from a diesel its awesome. The grip is also fantastic compared to my A6 which was non quattro

What is quite funny is we also own a 190 Diesel Kodiaq, when I get back in the Superb I forget how much power it has until I put my foot down in S mode. I've gotten so used to flipping from S to D mode having had the same issue in the Audi A6 with S-tronic and the Kodiaq, I typically flip it into S mode when approaching junctions or needing a turn of speed. I also specced up the flappy paddles in case I want to override it. The Kodiaq doesn't have these and I did missing having the option to override the DSG.

Fully agree, I got mine a month ago and really like it. For me it's the perfect car for me with two large dogs, a toddler and 9 month old and also a turn of speed when I need it. I like the fact there are also not many on the road

I recently had this dilemma having owned BMW/VW diesels over the last 12 years. I do around 12 - 15 k a year but was just bored of the same old diesel 2.0 190bhp type engines. Having run a current shape A6 Avant (2014) and currently also owning a Kodiaq diesel, I was also was bored of constant ad blu top ups and DPF regens. To be fair, when I got the A6 I was doing more longer journeys, this is partly down to shorter journeys I do now. I did feel the ad blu top ups were far more frequent then Audi would have you believe... My Audi also had a couple of DPF sensor issues coming up to its 3 years that worried my given all the scare stories on various forums. For me , I decided to take a small hit on fuel and go for the 280 and have a bit more driving enjoyment . As I paid for this by myself I decided for the change. This is going to be my last conventional fueled car , I will keep for 5 years and then move to electric once they have matured a bit more.

Thanks @RoyF280 for posting this how to, i used it yesterday to install a NextWave Duo HD dashcam. Works a charm, I have blind spot (fuse 48) also and piggy backed this fuse , I tried fuse 38 which is the trailer but I was worried a permanent live might drain my battery despite claims of a limiter. For anyone looking at the NextWave dashcam, it has a parking mode which will only switch on when it's G sensors are activated. You may miss the initial hit when parked, it will record as soon as it detects the hit. This runs off NextWave battery and doesn't require a permanent live fuse connection.

Hi, I've had mine a month now, it's an l&k 280 estate with 19" wheels. Before this I've owned a number of BMW's and Audi's with sports suspensions over the years , coming back to a petrol is a delight especially with the 280 engine. Speed is there on tap when I need it. Handling wise it's fine , it's no race car but handles well. I also have the DCC as standard in mine. I have set everything else to sport apart from ride. I was considering a Golf R estate but this ticked more boxes and was amazing value for money. I got through a broker so saved just under 8k on list. Look at drivethedeal, carwow or some of the other brokers. I got mine through coast2coast, brilliant discount and very efficient. Not the best communication but I ordered easily and they just contacted to say when to pay and deliver. So far really happy with my purchase, it allows me to have a bit of enjoyment and also meets all my family requirements .

Having recently owned a high spec A6 Black Edition Ultra edition with lots of options I can give my view on this, I purchased new in 2014 at a heavly discounted price of £36500 compared to factory price of £47,000. The A6 is due for a replacement soon by Audi so I decided to hand back and get the Superb L&K 280 estate, once again I got this for a very good price against list. Without a doubt, the Audi was the sexier looking car to drive as it had 20" wheels and Black line edition making it look sporty. It was only a 2 litre 190 diesel with S-Tronic and two wheel drive, the BiTurbo Quattro would have cost me around 55K which was too rich for my blood at the time. The Superb cost me 32K with a high spec factory order with 4 wheel drive and a 280 Petrol engine, it also puts a little smile on my face when I decide to put my foot down. I had the tech advanced pack for an upgraded MMI with larger screen but this was not on par with the touch screen system in my Superb due to resolution and old software (this was revised in the 2015 update but not significantly). The big flip out screen had massive potential to fail over time, there were several reports of out of warrantly failure with horrendous cost to fix. The MMI wheel and touchpad is a horrible and I never really got used to it in 3 years of ownership. I also kept getting lots of sensor and other errors in the final year of ownership due to all the gizmos I specced which concerned me, I will probably have these on the Superb as a lot of these systems are similar but stadard spec now. Quality wise it was higher quality then the Skoda, these are small things you notice in the showroom but when you start driving you forget about this i.e. leather on the centre console near your left leg, the skoda its plastic but how often do you look, same as around the bottom half of the doors. The steering wheel was nicer in the Audi but this was due to it being more sporty, I actually prefer the seats in the Superb apart from they havent got the extending leg part. I found the Audi ones uncomfortable after 3 years on long trips (This may be more due to 20" wheels and sports suspension) For me, what I got with the Skoda for the price outweighed the cost of slightly nicer quality and a badge.. The joy of the Skoda is I don't always get people trying to race and generally refusing to let you into a lane due to driving an Audi. Don't get me wrong, my ultimate car is an RS6 as it gives you practicality and driver enjoyment, while I have a mortgage it would be lunacy for me to burn that amount of cash on a car that depreciates so heavily. I haven't once looked back and thought I missed my Audi... Well, apart from the full matrix LED's which were Superb.

Interesting does the Racechip XLX impact warranty? I'm still genuinely loving the speed when input my foot down, surprised a few BMers and Audi's ... I'm not flooring it everywhere , mainly when coming off slip roads on the motor way and needing to change lane etc.. driving on the motorway it returns a very respectable MPG considering the engine. My biggest surprise is how smooth the petrol engine is having driven diesels for so many years

I believe it is 7, I think it's listed in the spec PDF you can download from Skoda. I'm 99% I read it in there recently.

On my A6 I got back in 2014 I paid the extra for the Matrix LED's, they were very good and included really good dynamic lighting turning off individual LED's for oncoming traffic etc, our Kodiaq also has LED's. Xenon's seem dull in comparison on my Superb, I prefer the white light LED's provide..Still I have gotten over this quite quickly.

These are both very good comments, I think I'm well placed to answer based on my experience , we own both the top end spec Kodiaq and Superb. We ordered the Kodiaq in January before it was released, it was a bit of a gamble but the prereviews and previous Skoda experience led me to believe it would be a winner. Having owned since May I can say it is the perfect family car in the spec we have, it has everything you could want in a car and handles well for a SUV type vehicle. We looked at lots of SUV type things including Audi Q5's, Toureg - Too small and underwhelming, the Kodiaq is massive and can get all the double prams and rubbish in with ease. It also lends itself nice to an auto. On top of that it is very good value for money in you compare it comparable size vehicles such as a Q7 (plusher inside I know but with a high price difference). I personally prefer my Superb as I prefer normal cars without a jacked up ride height, the boot is easier for the dogs to get in without straining legs and jumping up etc. Spec wise they are very similar but I feel the Kodiaq is slighty better quality ranging from the Gear stick, storage holes and bits. It's tiny things which are probably due to a newer design. My Superb has a newer entertainment system. Generally it comes down to what you want.. I can't get a Kodiaq with a 280 bhp engine. As we are lucky to afford both we haven't had to compromise... .if I had to only choose one as a family car the Kodiaq would probably slight edge it (by a tiny amount)

Funny this, I was just trying this with my new L&K estate today, didn't work for me either. On our Kodiaq one wave and the foot and it opens everytime

Agreed, 40k would have been steep but at the price I paid I think it's a good price, second hand people will grab a bargain in 2 years on these. Still, I remember back in 2011 when I got my first Skoda, a superb estate elegance 4×4 170bhp estate.. that was 24k fully specced. This is before everyone realised how good Skodas were.

Thanks the exhaust our really nice and the engine tone is fantastic, the 190 diesels are greate engines. It's just nice to have a change after all these years of driving them. I will probably say the same when I get a car with an electric car once they solve the range issues. @nicknorman Good tip, I do use tasker but I mainly used to use it for battery saving task, I already spare GiffGaff sim kicking around form the Audi. I'm using a Pixel XL 2 which integrates really nice in the Skoda. @Whenwillilearn Fully agree, I wouldn't pay list price for it.. saying that I can't remember when I last paid list price for any car, the Superb will probably drop like a bomb due to the engine, my aim was to keep this for a number of years before changing to Electric... so I though I may aswell buy something to enjoy for a change. I was suprised at how much the A6 dropped in 3 years. Over 50%, people just don't want large estate cars anymore.

Hi All, As some of you will know, I took delivery of a lovely shiny L&K 280 white estate. I previously had an Audi a6 Avant Black Line Ultra 190 S-tronic diesel (silly long title I know), I gave it back in April as I decided there were a few things I didn't like about it. As we also had two small children with prams and also sorts of stuff we ordered a Skoda Kodiaq Edition 190 diesel fully specced as a family car. I was then driving my wives Kia sportage as I was mainly home based for work, as we have two big dogs this wasn't suitable plus it was a big step back from the Audi. Looked at an Rs4 but it was too small and there is a good chance someone will try to nick it, Golf R estate was nice but looked a bit wrong and underspecced. Then I noticed there was a Superb with the Golf R engine and 4x4 that I could fit my dogs in... Done some looking and realised I could get a massive discount through a broker so decided to order the Superb, I previously had a 190 Superb Elegance 4x4 190 diesel (2011) so I have prior experience of Superbs. Anyway, on to the present The 280 petrol engine is an absolute gem and I cannot remember the last time I enjoyed driving a car, my last petrol was a MK V Golf GTi in 2005. This speed when I put the peddle down is absolutely awesome. Having direct experience of the 190 diesels in the Kodiaq and Audi a6 the difference is night and day, the DSG lag is non existent compared to what I had on the Kodiaq in both D and S modes. The engine pull and noise is lovely, I haven't been so excited to drive a car for a while and love the noise it makes when I floor it. Externally I love the understated look in moon white with the nice 19" anthracite alloys. Internally it's a really nice bit of kit, I would say the Kodiaq is slightly higher quality inside, The Audi A6 was obviously slightly better but it's little things you don't notice such as leather down near your legs. The LED ambient lighting and screen on the Superb is fantastic. The gear knob in the Kodiaq feels thicker and better quality as does the A6. I used Android Auto in the Kodiaq and it works just as well in the Superb, the SatNav has a built SIM unlike the Kodiaq where it is an option. This removes the hassle of having to put my mobile as a hotspot if I wanted to use online traffic. Ride is also really good, smoother then the Audi (that was on 20" wheels though) and less crashy then the Kodiaq. Heated windscreen is really really good, only downer is you are then sat that waiting for the rest of the car to defrost, heated steering wheel has been very good (I'm now convinced the one in my Audi never actually worked).. Overall I'm massively happy with this car, it's definintely not a downgrade from the Audi. I feel an element of smugness that I have one of the best value money cars on the road that stands out from the sea of Audi's and BMW's on the road without any real compromises. List price on the spec was 40k... I paid 32.5k making it a great buy in my book, for me this will be the last fossil fuel car until a suitable electric family fun car is on the market, Seeing people shocked when they get out accelerated by a Skoda..... If your on the fence... Try one out, I didn't think I could drive a massive estate that was still fun to drive without having to pay Rs4/Rs6 prices...

Interesting, I don't have climate seats so my heated steering wheel appears above the heated seat setting
