  1. Hi there, My Octavia vRs LE drivers side footwell was soaking wet full of water yesterday, definitely clean water, Soaked up with old towels etc, have left car with a dehumidifier in it. Any body got any ideas where this could be coming from?

i have seen threads on here a long time ago about passenger footwell, but not drivers!

Would be grateful if anyone can suggest what the problem is?  The black plastic scuttle cover by the wipers has vents in, but they appear to be clear?

  2. My car went into D M Keith in Hull for this update, when i booked the car in i made the lady on the phone aware that under no circumstances was the emissions update to be undertaken, i was told that the emissions update was optional.  When i took the car in the work sheet had an item listed on it that ( in orange highlighter)that no emissions update was to be undertaken.

Update to the ABS took about 40 mins, all very efficient, was offered a wash and vac which i declined as i was in a hurry.

  3. This recall for the ABS/ESC module, is not just limited to Octavia or vRs as both my daughter  08 Diesel Golf  1.9tdi and my 09 Octavia vRS Le have both got the letter. I am going to check with CAB as to legal issue about them updating the Emissions issue @ the same time ! as they aren't touching that! I will let you know what CAB say.

  4. Hi there, on my Octavia vRS estate the central locking has altered the way in which it works. One click on the key fob to unlock it used to unlock all the doors and the tailgate all at the same time. Now one click to unlock only opens the doors and not the tailgate. The tailgate can only be opened by pressing the boot/tailgate button on the key fob.

Any suggestions? i suspect i have pressed a button down for too long or something and altered the settings, the handbook is not very clear!

    Cheers Toddie

  5. My 09 LE Vrs Octavia Estate over the winter developed nasty rust blebs that were obviously coming through the paint from inside. Knowing that the paintwork warranty was well expired i took some photos and emailed them to Matt Worsnam @ the bodyshop @ DM Keith leeds. Who raised the issue with Skoda uk, who authorized repairs. The car was duly booked in to the bodyshop with Matt ( about 2-3 weeks delay) who organized a loan car ( Fabia Monte Carlo ) for me, whilst my Vrs was being sorted.

When DM Keith got the tailgate stripped down they discovered that the rust was too far advanced to repair, so they got Skoda to authorize a new tailgate. I picked the car up about a week later, with a new tailgate, exterior badges etc in cracking valeted condition. No complaints at all. So a big thank you to Simon Duckworth ( Bodyshop Manager) Matt Worsnam and the bodyshop team for a top job.

I should like to point out i am in no way connected to DM Keith, i am a Photographer with a very keen eye and i am very fussy about my cars, and i can't tell where it has been painted.

I have attached 5 pictures so you can see the problems on the tailgate.

The moral here is that Skoda fulfilled their obligation under the anti-perforation warranty even though the car is 6 years old this july, it has 54000 miles and full skoda sevice history bar 1 service.

  6. Just had my 09 Octavia vRS LE estate into DM keith Leeds, because the tailgate had come out in rust blebs from inside the paint. Skoda authorised reapirs and the car was booked in with Matt Worsnam who was very efficient and organized a loan car for me. When DM Keith got the tailgate stripped down they discovered that the rust was beyond repair so got authorization from Skoda to replace the tailgate. I collected the car about a week later, all sorted and valeted.

Top paint job, i can't tell it's been painted, and i should point out being a photographer i am very fussy!  So all in all a top job from Simon Duckworth (Bodyshop manager) Matt Worsnam and the bodyshop team.

I would recommend to anyone, and will definitely be back if i need more paintwork doing

  7. Vredestein Ultrac Vorti XL from Camskill £70-70 per corner plus carriage & fitting at the moment. Really pleased with these tyres had Conti Sport 3 on before. The Voriti's are much quieter, a lot better in the wet, the car feels more planted and they seem to wear Okay.

  8. I book marked this ad off a site about 12 months ago can't remember which could have been Pistonheads/Briskoda can't remember. Not used them so can't recommend, book marked it when my daughter was buying a diesel Golf, but the one she bought came with cam belt done.

Autohaus in Sheffield quote £296 using genuine parts inc water pump.  Not far from Bingley.

  9. I had a similar issue on my Le Vrs, it was the opposite of yours ie would not recline it would only get more upright. Took it to my dealer DM Keith in Leeds, who had to fit new seat frame as they said it was the only way to sort it. The car was just out of warranty but DM Keith got it through with Skoda uk as goodwill ( Full service history with them etc).

  10. Hi there, i live in Hull and had my winter wheels powder coated @ Wheelemin,   see http://www.wheelemincmengineeringhull.co.uk/carbodyrepairshull.html  Their main website seems to be under construction at the moment.

The job on my wheels was good, but like all powder coaters they can't do the plastic centre caps, they can only wet spray them. Can't remember what i paid but £220 for 4 wheels comes to mind. The only problem i had was the centre of the wheels seemed to have too much paint on, they were very tight to fit, so flatted back with wet and dry.
