To clarify we do agree and ultimately we will do what we want, my partner, her feelings and wishes will always come first over anybody else and I would do anything for her. .
It's more around how to deal with upset and hurt family I suppose.

A bit of an odd one for a car forum but I thought I would ask for opinions.
My partner and I recently got engaged and are now thinking about when and how to get married. Neither of us are really interested in a big do and would hate all the attention that goes with a traditional type of wedding. Her parents eloped to get married and we thought that this would be a good idea as well. Her parents would be absolutely fine with this and even suggested it to us, however my parents are a different matter and my Mother has made it abundantly clear that she wants to be there and would be incredibly hurt if she wasn't.
I can see both sides and I'm not sure what the answer is, my partner is angry about my mothers reaction and can't see what the issue is.
Really what I am after is who has eloped and who had a traditional type of wedding and how they went
Thanks Dedders

2013 mk3 Octavia VRS DSG TDI estate first registered October 2013. I purchased this car new from a Skoda main dealer and I'm the only registered keeper.
Just under 22500 miles, first serviced October 2014 and second service October 2015 both on a fixed service schedule at a Skoda main dealer. Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyres fitted all round with good tread on them.
White with the following options:
Black pack
Columbus Sat Nav
Canton Sound system
Park assist
Kessy
Heated windscreen
Heated front seats
Variable boot floor
Sunset glass
Spare wheel
Rear bumper protector
Cruise control
Overall the car is in good condition, several of the wheels have slight kerbing on them. (See photos) There is also a small dent (less than the size of a finger nail see photo) on the rear near side wheel arch where someone opened their door into it but otherwise it is in good condition.
There is finance on the vehicle but it will be cleared prior to purchase.
Please pm me for further details or any questions.
£16500.
The car is located in Camberley Surrey.

Just seen that the last Top Gear reasonably priced car is for sale on EBay.

Odd that it has Sat Nav fitted when it was just going to spend its life on a track.
I wonder what someone's willing to pay for it?

Quite like this more general discussion thread,
More and new details arrive at Frankfurt show :http://www.evo.co.uk/ford/focus-rs/16703/2015-ford-focus-rs-price-announced-just-how-much-does-345bhp-cost
I think Ford were always going to undercut VW R7 and Honda Type R coz that's their thing.
Think they have missed a(Profit) trick, with the Audi RS3 and the Proposed Faclifted A45 AMG being so overpriced in comparison,if they really had the confidence in the design. quality / performance of their product ,not yet arriving in UK until early to mid 2016,they would have pitched the price say midway between R and RS3 etc. Say £34k imo
Window of opportunity for VW to do minor improvement uplifts in Power, braking and handling before mid 2016.Prior to say R420 and others being brought on
production stream, say 2017.
Shame that there is no RS configurator yet available from Ford, to get a "real price" /spec comparisons with the competition
So because it's cheaper than the almighty Golf that can do no wrong you think that they don't have faith in their product.
Maybe they just don't want to rip their customers off and and want to sell the car at a fair price.
I really think it's about time you took your blinkers off about the Golf just because you think it's the best car ever doesn't mean everyone else has to. It would be nice to see a post occasionally that doesn't end up with you just saying how much you love Golfs and that they are better than everything else.

Well having not played with Lego for about 20 years when I was about 12 I decided to give it a go again after speaking with a friend who was going on about it.
I think I was a bit ambitious with my first go but I completed it tonight.
It's even remote controlled, Lego has certainly got more complicated than I remember!
It was great fun I've just got to decide what to get next!!

I've got a Fitbit Surge and I think it's brilliant. It tracks heartbeat, steps, calories, stairs and miles walked. In addition you can tell it what type of exercise you are doing and it will monitor that as well. It uses gps to track you position and then gives you the speed you covered the previous mile and then a final report when you have finished.
In relation to the heartbeat monitor when I have checked it manually it seems accurate to me.
All the data syncs with the iPhone app and gives you all sorts of graphs to look at.
I wear mine permanently and only ever take it off to charge it etc.

It depends what energy tariff you are on.
I pay £15p per kW. And factor in 10% losses in transferring from electrical to chemical energy.
So on a LEAF a full charge (20kW out of total battery size of 24kW, as 4kW is protected to save battery life) is 20x15p+10%. Or £3.30p.
Which should give a range of 80 miles in the summer and 70 in the winter. Or less in the winter on the early LEAF with the naff heating system.
But I do most of my charging at work, for free.
Thank you for that I really appreciate it.

I'm really interested in getting an electric vehicle mainly inspired by your updates on this thread. I've been and test driven the Leaf and I'm trying to find a Kia dealer that can help with the Soul.
I hope you don't mind me asking but roughly how much does it cost to charge at home overnight?
Thanks.

Every car we watched go through was partially dismantled except for a Vauxhall Calibra which they didn't touch for some strange reason.
They do have some standards!

Programme needs fresh faces, not a bunch of poser's, in particularly, about the cars every-day people can afford, and not the few elite such as these over-paid commentators..
Posing as drivers in fast cars is not entertaining, what about the mechanics of the vehicle hands-on ie: get it up on a ramp, lets have a thorough good look/ under the bonnet, look in the boot for space available, etc, etc, etc.
If the BBC did that they would lose 90% of the worldwide audience and the reputed £50 million it brings in to them every year.

I just wondered what unusual cars people have seen out on the road recently?
This morning I saw 2 DeLorean's on the M3 travelling together from junction 6 towards 5. Unfortunately I was going the other way so I wasn't able to get a picture but it's the first time I've ever seen one on the road let alone two.

The mk1 RS was exactly that 4501 (each individually numbered) made worldwide with bespoke parts and a wider track that meant it couldn't be made on the standard production line. Ford also lost money on every one they made due to the parts used. And a ford focus is a bespoke car built in
Low numbers for select individuals?
Lol
