Am having problems with my new VRS FL Octy which now seems to be stalling under load...
I only purchased the car on 01/09/09. I took it back under warranty a few weeks back to my dealer who could not find any faults with it. No fault codes at all coming up.
I took it back to the dealer because when lifing off the throttle, it was taking an eternity for the revs to come back down. Was told that it could be a blockage or throttle sensor problem which had cleared.
Now the car seems to have a nasty, "flat spot" when accelerating at low revs. I have also noticed the car has a stutter at higer revs. Its a real pain at junctions when pulling away as the tendancy is to stall it.
I also find that the car has a split second delay between depressing the throttle pedal and the engine winding up, noticably again when pulling away from idle.
And ideas guys? Am taking it back again this Friday.......wanted any info which may be useful beforehand....

Very Very Nice.
Any Chance you can help me out ??
Octavia Running Lights v Side Lights
When your engine is running, your Running lights wcome on. What happens at night when you switch your side on ? do your running lights go dim and your side lights come on at the top of the headlight housing.
Many thanks
Nice car by the way
spot on! no pun intended. LED's are always on day or night. When switching side or headlamps on, the LED's simply go a bit dimmer....

manual gearbox every time....more feel for what the car is doing in my view....

I tested a DSG but in derv, whilst I really wanted to test a petrol. I also then tested a manual LE.
Found the box very smooth, fast changes and tiptronic mode was cool. Noticed it kicks down if I wanted to pull away quickly which can be jerky but its the first time I've driven an auto. Of course you get the paddle shift now. I ordered a petrol DSG last week.
Gearbox on mine is very smooth, is quite close ratio compared to my old mk1 vRS. Clutch is really light and smooth...

Any chance you can lock and hold the button to see if the mirrors fold, they do in the euro brochure but this is not documented for UK spec, can't believe the wiring is different though.
Thanks
Have tried pressing and holding key fob - mirrors do not fold..:thumbdwn:

Have had all of mine in Black - as it matches the wife's Fabia! It was a toss up between Black Magic or Candy White - both look great...

Am now the proud owner of my new 59 plate Octavia Estate vRS Facelift....with no spare wheel....
Am currently looking on e-bay for a suitable space saver to chuck in the boot to replace the can of tyre weld:(. I am baffled by the different types of space saver out there. My car currently has the new look 18" Neptune Alloys on.
Anybody have any idea about which space saver I should be looking out for. What will fit?

Have just paid my deposit to Paul at Faintree and am waiting to pick up my new facelift 59 plate Octavia VRS from him on 01/09/09. A smooth and pleasant transaction so far. I would highly recommend this dealer.

Can anybody make sense of this....
Just been quoted a renewal of nearly £350 for my MK1 Octavia VRS Estate - Not suprised by this.:(
Have just brought a 59 facelift VRS estate and have been quoted £190!
Why is the new car (which is worth in excess of £20K) with a bigger engine (2.0 TFSI as opposed to 1.8T) so much cheaper to insure?

Petrol. :D:D

......Rest assured that it will be the ONLY time that a Fabia will be in FRONT of my new Octy! They are usually way behind!

Just a quick update on this for you....
Took the car back to dealer (Faintree garage in Bridgnorth) who again could not find any fault via VAG diagnosticis.
Spoke in detail to Steve Wedgebury who was extremely helpful. There have been similar problems on the Fabia Vrs it seems.... Steve has agreed to replace the throttle pedal and sensor under warranty for tomorrow. Lets see what tomorrow brings.....
