  1. Rob how long have you had yours fitted?

Ilovemysuperb... Yours appear to be the same ones as Simbos again how long have you had them in now? And they look to be cheaper when bought direct from their website rather than through their eBay store.

    Cheers

    Dave.

    Davey,

I have them fitted since late feb this year, just over 6000 miles. Absolutely no regrets ...

    Best of luck mate,

  2. Just my two-pennies worth...

I'm a fan of LED DRL's but so far have resisted the urge to fit them to my Superb.

I've yet to see a set of CANBUS / Cree LED bulbs that:

    1) are as bright as the non-LED OEM bulbs.

    2) are able to overcome the blown-bulb warning properly.

    3) last more than 6 months (I do high mileage so assume 3 months).

The brightness thing is my biggest concern. You can tell a car approaching from a mile off that has non-OEM LED DRL's as they look really blue or dim and just naff.

See here for some bulb types that have proved to be no good over the years:

    Silver 1011,

I have to say the ones I got from Superskoda are totally error free, way way brighter than the standard halogens and being LED's should last ages. They also really freshen up the look of the car, well worth the few bob in my book.

Rob..... Do you have a pic of them lit up in daylight on your car?

    Cheers

    Dave.

Sorry Davey, I don't have any pics of them but the pic's on the Superskoda site are pretty much the way they look in the flesh ... They're very bright in daylight too ... Go for it.

    Cheers lads,

  3. Hi Richard,

Yes there are at least two. One in the fuel tank (called the lift pump, not very expensive) and one in the engine (high pressure diesel pump, very expensive). Possibly an auxiliary pump between these two (I've had this fail on a BMW I owned in the past) but I'm not sure if VW use this set up ... I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than myself can inform you.

Either way, best of luck and keep us posted on your results ...

    Cheers,

    Rob

  4. update on mine.......

Rang wed late. They said it needs a new fuel pump.

Rang friday late.... They're still waiting for it to arrive.

Luckily I can keep the hire car as long as necessary, allthough I'm not using it as I've got use of OH's Clio

Helipilot.... do you live N or S of Barcelona? We like the Costa Brava a lot.

    Hi Richard,

Did they say which fuel pump you need?

    Thanks ...

  5. I'm not looking to open up a cam belt discussion but just after some info - Did the dealer recommend the cam belt change @ 80,000 or did you make the decision. I only ask as the dealer who just serviced my 61 plate 170 has said 120,000 or 4 years? The handbook says 130,000 miles (210,000 km) for my engine code with no time specification. I am not worried by the 4 year issue. I am currently, for what it is worth, writing to Skoda Uk for clarification and the variations will be questioned as every dealer should be using the same service schedule.

The same dealer informed me that my warranty won't expire @ 60,000 as the warranty is two years unlimited mileage and 60,000 in the third year! If only this were true.

I do 25,000 miles a year so will be thinking the same thing around Christmas with regard to changing but again have had no issues rather than the hatch struts failing being replaced under warranty.

    Regards,

    Kevin.

Pretty much the same story here regarding the cam belt / water pump. Skoda Ireland say 180,000KM's with no time limit ...

(oh god the can is open, here come the worms  :peek:

  6. Welcome.!

I've never put seat covers on a car but it might be worth asking your local taxi company what they use. I've been in a few taxi's that have a custom fit clear plastic on the seats. You'd still have the look of the leather but it'd be well protected, and would be removable. I guess it's just a case of how much you want to spend ...

    Best of luck,

    Rob

  7. Thanks for replies.

I had ordered a Ford Galaxy to replace my 10 plate Skoda superb estate with 235.000 miles

but finance seemed rather to high so i hope im doing right and fixing the superb for 1 more years work.

    Dorsetcoast,

Thats some milage for a 2010 car.! What (if any) other issues have you had with your MKII?

    Cheers,

  8. From personal experience having two cars remapped, I've never seen a real improvement in economy. Others I know have had the same experience. It might be too much to ask of any tuning devices to increase power and decrease fuel consumption, more power = more fuel needed. Maybe on a steady motorway cruise you'd see some slight improvement ... If you want to have more power and don't mind using a bit more fuel, you'll be happy

    My two cents,

    Rob

  9. Fitted these yesterday .. Amazingly bright white light, totally transforms the look of the rear. They'll also make the car much more visible from behind at night. One thing I found was the resistors rattled around a bit inside the tailgate so I stuck a double sided sticky pad (about 3/4" square) to the resistor and stuck it to the inside of the cavity. This should hold it and the pad shouldn't compromise the heat dissipation much, although I'll be keeping an eye on it.
