  1. Hi all , Just a follow up in-case any of you have a similar problem, Crank sensor replaced car now running well, the part cost £111.00 at TPS and i got it fitted for £66 ,If you go to a garage and they tell you you need to take the oil filter housing off then shop else where . the first quote i got was £250 plus vat (that included the part ,works out they wanted £150 for the sensor !!) so it pays to shop around . You could fit this yourself if you have access to a car ramp ,I had a go of normal ramps and you don't have enough ground clearance for £66 it's a no brainer.
  2. Can someone shed some light on how easy this sensor is to fit ,I have been quoted £250 for this job to be done ,If it not to hard having to work under the car then I will have a go myself.
  3. Thanks DGW i have looked at this as well ,most websites that quote the fault code always seems to be related to Diesels ,I haven't found 1 yet that mentioned a petrol engine ,
  4. Just looked at my post sorry about the fault code I can resend if anyone needs more info
  5. Hi all ,I have been having a issues with the engine cutting out when giving it some beans ( and i dont mean baked!) also sometimes i have noticed the rpm and speedo gauge return to zero and have had a oil pressure warning flash up on the maxi dot display, lift off and all returns to normal apart from speedo, rpm, oil pressure warning ,swicth the car off then on again and its all ok. Its thrown up a fault ........... Thanks for looking.
  6. Guys my VRS has been running like a dream since i changed the PCV, Fuel consumption as gone back up, on the way home not really trying 36MPG on the way into work 39MPG at 70MPH ,no engine light on. Paul remember I told you about my Audi A4 130 TDi ,well the engine light came on and was on for 3 days only just gone off today ,I was wondering if this could be the same issue as my VRS (brimming the tank).? I think it needs a Scan ,do you think you could help me out again? I would be most greatful.
  7. If i remember when servicing my old seat toledo the sump plug was quite hard to get in quite easy to cross thread if you don't know what you are doing ,lets face it these days a lot of young apprentices are doing the hum drum oil services in the stealers,my bet would be the thread is threaded and they just keep on going with it until it was tight ,30Nm isn't that tight, but if you kept on going and tightened it over that it would just go loose. Its all down to Skoda fight it all the way.
  8. I would like to gave a big thanks to GTI jazz Blue for his help today, engine light still remains off,I replaced the PCV today ( for the N version as a matter of course ),couldn't see much wrong with the old one ( it was a F vesion) anywho car is running well. While I was at TPS I bought some oil which turned out to be cheaper than what I get in halfords with my trade card result. Again thanks Paul.
  9. Thanks I am in the process of sorting that now ,hopefully will get the car scanned tomorrow
  10. I replaced that a few months ago ,could this be a PCV fault??
  11. Thanks will this work with the I phone ? also what lead do you need for this to work on your lap top?
  12. Hi all, noticed my engine light on today, the car does seem to run fine although over the last few months i feel like I have lost some boost ,also from time to time i do get a very slight lumpy idle ,I dont have any VCDs (don't know what I need that doesn't cost loads),I have a 2007 VRS petrol 84,000 miles any ideas??
  13. is this the correct part number for my car 06H145710D ?
  14. Anyone know the part number for a DV for 2007 VRS would mine be a TSI or a TFSI?
  15. No its standard,if the DV is slipt or is perished could it be intermittent ?
  16. Hi all I have read lots of posts on the problem I have with my 2007 VRS petrol-when driving on the motorway in 6th doing 60mph sometimes not all the time the turbo doesn't kick in until about 3000-3500,it also does this on some b roads as well.4th or 5th,if I drive it hard from the start then all is well turbo kicking in about 1600- All the other posts I have read never give the outcome to what the fix was ,could this be a sign of a worn DV?? I do not hear any hissing noise when the turbo is spinning. Please can someone shed some light on this as its doing my head in. Thanks All
