  1. Rubbish. No way that washing your car properly will damage the paintwork. Any damage is down to poor technique.
  2. Not noticed it in the vRS to be honest. An astra hire car I had did this and it was so annoying. First time it happened I was sat revving trying to move thinking the stupid electric handbrake had seized on somehow.
  3. That's how it happened for me. Didn't even need to ask for it.
  4. Anything that ends highway is used by skoda AFAIK
  5. +1 on this. I had a rattle from the dash above about 30mph. A good push on the surround and something clicked into place. Not heard a noise since.
  6. Mine had about a quarter of tank in when I picked it up, first trip I made wa to Shell and filled it with V-Power. I'm surprised that over the 50 miles it's covered (including 11 delivery miles) it's averaging just over 32 mpg!
  7. Looks identical to mine, good choice! Did it have the little decals on the wings? Sorry to hear you've had trouble with it though!
  8. I picked mine up in green with black roof and wheels yesterday and it was the first time I'd seen the colour in the 'flesh' so to speak. Looks stunning and IMO miles better than the White one they had. There was also a yellow one in the showroom with black wheels and roof which looked surprisingly good but I think might be a bit more difficult to get rid of in a few years time.
  9. Same as mine with black roof and wheels and no extras apart from rear electric windows. More evidence that extras don't affect resale value?
  10. Yep I've got the badges, was the first one they had received with them on. Photos will be added once it has stopped raining and I have cleaned it
  11. Yeah it's confusing but I think my mk4 Golf was the same yet Ford and Vauxhall seem to have the double press for deadlocking. Shame they can't all be the same!
  12. I believe it's a Skoda finance deal, worth asking your dealer before you pick it up. Oh and yes I've picked it up, shame it was raining but it is an amazing car. A guy in a scirocco tried to race from the lights and was left looking a little bit silly
  13. Having picked mine up today I can confirm that the vRS does come with a spare wheel as standard.
  14. They informed me that the offer was on and resubmitted the finance documents to get the offer. Really pleased cos I'd have been none the wiser if they didn't do it and they'd have been able to take the money for servicing straight from me.
  15. I think those silly little three cylinder engines are likely to be more stressed and fail. PS I don't really, just trying to start a forum fight
  16. On my way to pick mine up now and had some good news earlier - I'm getting the 3 years free servicing deal as I'm buying on a PCP so apart for tax, insurance and petrol it's going to be very minimal running costs for the next 3 years!
  17. Haha sorry! I just made it clear that I didn't see why they needed the car for so long!
  18. After a slightly heated conversation I will be signing for mine tonight and collecting tomorrow. The delay is partly due to the order of "black pack" parts which I will be going without now to make sure I have the car asap.
  19. My week 16 build arrived at the dealers on Monday. Despite the dealer claiming they had no idea when it would arrive, Skoda customer services told me that they could see that the dealer had already requested transport. Phone skoda customer services first to get the correct information then use it against the dealer when he starts lying to you
  20. Er because if you're sat in a queue of traffic at night with somebody in front standing on the brakes while waiting it's a lot brighter than just their tail lights which would be on if they used the handbrake instead? It's common bad driving practice by those with automatics and inconsiderate to those behind.
  21. Are you sure about this? Ignoring the fact that brake lights will dazzle others at night I thought it was fine to use footbrake while waiting at lights etc but should put into N or P if applying handbrake and releasing footbrake?
  22. Beats me. Could be something to do with the load or speed rating of the tyres being unsuitable for using the sealant? Having said that I had a Ferrari 348 that came with tyre sealant so I doubt it could be that. Strange decisions by skoda again?!
