  1. Thanks for the information. Oil temperature is now activated.
  2. Yes thanks, tried all of those mentioned above. I have only had the car three weeks, but no matter what I do I get no oil temp indicator. Will have to try the service dept when it goes in.
  3. I had the Skoda internal bike carrier for use in my Skoda Yeti’s. The boot tie down points are in a different position in the Karoq, but I know the Skoda community is a pretty inventive lot, so has anyone devised a work around to get the internal bike carrier to fit the Karoq?
  4. The handbook says that I should be able to view the oil temperature. On my old Yeti it was on the maxi dot display. Anyone else have this problem?
  5. I don’t think ACT works in Eco mode. See above post.
  6. I am currently on my second Yeti and collect my Karoq this week. Varioflex seating is one of the reasons I have stayed with the Skoda range. They have proved so flexible and yes lifting them in and out may seem heavy but you do get used to the best way of lifting and handling them in time. I particularly like the fact that you can remove the centre seat and leave the two outer seats fitted, makes for roomy comfortable travelling with just 4 adults. The bungees have always worked well for me keeping the seats up and have never marked the leather upholstery permenantly. I am looking forward to comparing the Karoq set up compared to the Yeti, my biggest regret is that I will no longer be able to use my internal bike rack.
  7. Phone call from the dealer this morning and the car is being delivered to him Monday. They offered me collection Friday 1st March, but I can’t make it so it will have to be the following week. So Skoda has kept its forecast of delivery Mar/Apr from a December order. 12 weeks from ordering to collection including Christmas and New Year break. I think that is more than acceptable.
  8. The vast majority of 1.5 DSG users suffer no kangerooing, but they do suffer wheelspin setting off uphill and a certain lag when wanting to accelerate quickly when rolling up to a junction. I think this is just a quirk of the DSG gearbox which warrants a peculiar style of driving. I have had two DSG powered cars, both Yeti’s, one 2ltr diesel and a 1.2 Ltr petrol. Soon I will add a 1.5 DSG karoq to that list which I test drove prior to ordering and had no problems with kangerooing, hesitation or wheelspin. Enjoy your test drive.
  9. I don’t really think it is the 1.5 DSG that has a problem. The 1st gear problems are with the manual. You already have a DSG and it should be no different with the Karoq.
  10. Just had it confirmed by Skoda UK that car was in build last week and will be delivered before the end of March, so taking in to account the Christmas break 12 weeks would seem achievable.
  11. 1.5 DSG SE L model, extras over standard include: Quartz grey metallic Beige leather interior Heated front and rear seats Heated windscreen and nozzles Family pack Spare wheel It had everything else I wanted as standard. Having had two Yetis, both DSG, one 2.0 Ltd diesel and one 1.2 Petrol, it will be interesting to see how they compare.
  12. Car ordered 10th December, heard yesterday that it is scheduled for build week 5 and delivery March. So more than happy.
  13. I have been waiting for the reintroduction of a 1.5TSI Edition model, but having contacted Skoda direct and my local dealer, placed an order yesterday for an SE L model as there is no forecast of an Edition model being introduced in the near future.
  14. Had wanted to trade in my Yeti for a 1.5 TSI DSG next year for delivery March. Would have liked Edition so I thought I would ask Skoda UK if they were intending to reintroduce the model for next year and what delivery forecast was for any 1.5 powered model. Their reply below was quite surprising. Thank you for your recent contact with ŠKODA UK Customer Services. Please accept my apologies for the delay in my response. I’m glad to hear that you’re looking at upgrading to the KAROQ Edition. Regarding your query, whether the KODIAQ Edition comes with a 1.5 engine next year or not is currently unknown. The KAROQ Edition trim level will be available with the following engines: 2.0 TDI SCR 150 PS 4x4 2.0 TDI SCR 150 PS 4x4 DSG The KAROQ Edition is currently unavailable to order, however, I recommend keeping in contact with your local Authorised ŠKODA Retailer to see when it is available.
  15. I have had my 110 3 years, 25k and averaged around the same at 49.4. This is based on actual fuel consumption not the maxidot which would have you believe the average is 54mpg. 60mpg is achievable as I proved driving back from Cornwall during the fuel crisis with diesel in short supply. Just ordered a new F/L which will be the 1.2 TSI but only because my situation is changing and I expect to do lots of short journeys. Refinement - well I think it compares favorably with its peers and to be honest think for comfort it is hard to beat. A 6th gear would not go amiss but there againyou don't have to change down on the motorway going uphill. Swings and roundabouts spring to mind.
  16. Just ordered a F/L to replace my 2011 110 Elegance. Looked at the reversing camera but required Amundsen unit too at £800 total. Already have a perfectly good Nuvi with lifetime European maps and US on micro SD. Travel to Europe and US on business regularly, currently working in Florida so Nuvi is ideal. So spent the money on Kessy instead.
  17. I have a full size spare but only carry it when travelling away from home, I stick it in upright next to the bikes, so therefore lower floor level.
  18. I have the Skoda internal bike carrier which locks in to the rear tie down points which makes sure the bikes are going nowhere. The seats have to be removed to get two bikes in, you can get one bike in across the boot with the seats folded forward, just. The bikes have to have the front wheels removed and then are secured using the fork wheel attachment points. My saddles stay fixed but as my wife and I are only 5ft 6in, six footers with larger frames could be different. With two bikes in I remove two seats which leaves room for a passenger in the rear and there is plenty of room in the back for luggage around the bikes as well as the rear foot wells. I have been away for a long weekend to Centre Parcs with three adults, two bikes plus food and clothing. Wife and daughter do not travel lightly. Hope this is of use, I am away at the moment so am unable to post any photos.
  19. I have the internal bike rack which allows me to carry two mountain bikes internally with one rear seat fitted. No security problems and easy to get in and out with the bike front wheels removed.
  20. Another + for LV. My wife had an accident in the Yeti last year and LV were excellent in their service, loan car and repairs. On renewal the premium decreased by £10 to £185 fully comp, 2 named drivers, 9000 miles limit, with NCD protection and £100 excess!!! Again discount for CSMA membership but still competitive I think for quality cover with no hassle when claim assessed.
  21. Impressed with the finished result. I fitted the heko lower vent cover for the winter which has performed as required but I will not be leaving it on throughout the summer. I replaced the grills on my wife's Suzuki Cappuccino last year as they were corroding and looking shoddy. I got a rigid black plastic diamond pattern grill off eBay which looked just as good and will not corrode. They do various patterns of mesh so will be investigating a suitable pattern for the lower vent.
  22. Can sympathise with you. My wife too had a shunt in November. Luckily no-one hurt and the other driver accepted responsibility so recovered my excess. Repairs were carried out to a high standard. Happy days. Surprisingly my insurance renewal has just come through at £10 less than last year. £185 fully comp, 9000 miles limit, with NCD protection and £100 excess!!!
