  1. It is a while since I took the wheel off, it was quite easy
  2. Crikey, I went from a 16 inch to 15 inch, to make the ride less bouncy over poor sufaces, and it works
  3. My 1.9tdi 2003 is approaching 216k miles, just had new rear shocks put on, and gearbox oil changed, first time for both I am sure.The shocks were completely gone, no spring in them at all when compressed. It now rides much better,( and is quieter , which I suppose is the change of gearbox oil,) I am very pleased. I got the oil, 2 litres, from the skoda dealers, only cost about 16 quid. Used Meyle shocks off ebay for around £50.
  4. Sounds like a decent deal, see how it goes.
  5. I have had loads of Pugs, loved all my 405's and 406's, and had a 309 for years, brilliant cars all, about 9 in total-nice drive and very reliable, comfy and economical; diesels of course
  6. My 2003 tdi had the clutch and dmf done at 115,000, miles it is now on 211,000 miles ; of course clutch wear depends on how they are used, we do motorway miles, so I do not expect to replace the clutch for a while;
  7. Astonishing when you consider how much is being spent, very poor practice
  8. Bought our 2003 tdi hatch with 124k on the clock in feb 2011, now has 210k on clock, had no issues at all with the rear shocks
  9. Ireally do not like the fashion these days for the 'squashed' look at the rear of cars, looks like an elephant has sat on it, must be poor visibility
  10. On 208k miles on 2003 tdi elegance, engine still going strong, just had a couple of rear springs put on as one of them went 'pop'. Also had a buzzer fitted , off ebay, which activates when the lights are left on, and you turn the ignition off ,works well
  11. You 'bought' them , you did not 'brought' them
  12. Just passed 200,000 miles, 2003 tdi 110, car going very well
  13. My 2003 1.9tdi elegance has 199.3 k miles, soon to pass 200k miles going very well thanks
  14. Got them fitted by the mechanic through the week, they work a treat
  15. Might have a bash at this soon ( well, I'll ask the mechanic to do it ! ) Thanks for the guide, will show it to him
