  1. I can't afford new. My maximum budget, including importation and VRTing it here would be 12k. As a stopgap, we have replaced valves and coils and while it is still a bit uneven, it's going, which is more than it was doing a week or so ago. I would struggle to get 1200 euro for it here, so I can't keep spending on it.
  2. Further to this, I contacted a guy who regularly brings cars over from the UK. The VRT and costs would not actually be as bad as I thought, so it is possible a 2015 1.2 Roomie will be on its way to me soon and keeping me company for a few years yet. He described it as 'a car that does not attract the younger driver' and so they are usually kept in pretty good nick. The cheek of him. Really pleased. Thanks all for your suggestions.
  3. I like the idea of a VW, but unfortunately everything is looking like WAY out of my budget, which realistically is about 12k euro. If only people sold old Roomies here, I could find one. I see some beautiful late models on UK sites, but the VRT and import costs to bring it to Ireland would make it crazy.
  4. My beloved 2007 Roomster has reached the stage where to repair it/replace parts is costing more than it's worth. Here in Ireland people tend to hang on to them, so decent second hand ones rarely come up for sale. Looking for a similar style reliable car (any make) in terms of carrying space really. Would welcome suggestions. Really not bothered about looks, though not terribly keen on enormous 'safari hunter' cars.
