  1. Brakes can vary between cars but I would expect the same level of performance between two Skoda's. There could be air in the line or a problem with the brake servo. Definatley worth mentioning.
  2. I think its electric steering on the Superb and it sounds like there is an issue with it. I would definatley mention it.
  3. I once ran a test to see what the most mpg I could extract from the car was. I reset the gauge as I was driving down a slip road (jn3 of the M3) and was sitting at just over 100mpg the whole way to the Winchester exit (about 30 miles). It dropped to 96mpg at the very end. However, I was cheating a little as I was slip-streaming trucks nearly the whole way which made a big difference. Tyres matter too as I'm running winters at the moment and mpg is suffering badly due to higher rolling resistance. The low temperatures are a significant contributing point too.
  4. I assume you mean £90 (the difference) and no, of course I'm not paying it. My point is that its a very small amount of money compared to the yearly cost of a car. A couple of days ago I drove past a patch of broken glass on the road. What if I had punctured a tyre? Should I call the police and find out who had an accident there and then insist they pay for it or should I just spend £60 on a new tyre and move on?
  5. A different 1.9 PD engine? Perhaps. Whats gone on yours?
  6. The hatch is £30 I believe but the estate is more. Its a mistake and one that is quite easy to make. It really isn't a big deal.
  7. I bought a brand new steel wheel from ebay for £50 and a tyre for £50.
  8. They are and I appreciate greater torque and the 18" wheel will increase wear but it 6 times the wear rate seems alot. I was getting more mileage out of rears on an M5 than that.
  9. 11,000 miles? I've had almost 30k out of the original tyres and they are not half worn yet (Continentals on a Greenline)
  10. I've had clutch issues on mine since it was almost new. The pedal would creak sometimes as if something wasn't lubricated properly. After 40,000 miles a garage finally diagnosed a faulty slave cylinder, replaced it and its not fine.
  11. Exactly the same with me. Just recently changed the battery and its solved it. Car is 2.5 years old.
  12. Mine gives days and miles and is on fixed.
