  1. Brakes can vary between cars but I would expect the same level of performance between two Skoda's. There could be air in the line or a problem with the brake servo. Definatley worth mentioning.
  2. I think its electric steering on the Superb and it sounds like there is an issue with it. I would definatley mention it.
  3. I once ran a test to see what the most mpg I could extract from the car was. I reset the gauge as I was driving down a slip road (jn3 of the M3) and was sitting at just over 100mpg the whole way to the Winchester exit (about 30 miles). It dropped to 96mpg at the very end. However, I was cheating a little as I was slip-streaming trucks nearly the whole way which made a big difference. Tyres matter too as I'm running winters at the moment and mpg is suffering badly due to higher rolling resistance. The low temperatures are a significant contributing point too.
  4. I assume you mean £90 (the difference) and no, of course I'm not paying it. My point is that its a very small amount of money compared to the yearly cost of a car. A couple of days ago I drove past a patch of broken glass on the road. What if I had punctured a tyre? Should I call the police and find out who had an accident there and then insist they pay for it or should I just spend £60 on a new tyre and move on?
  5. A different 1.9 PD engine? Perhaps. Whats gone on yours?
  6. The hatch is £30 I believe but the estate is more. Its a mistake and one that is quite easy to make. It really isn't a big deal.
  7. I bought a brand new steel wheel from ebay for £50 and a tyre for £50.
  8. They are and I appreciate greater torque and the 18" wheel will increase wear but it 6 times the wear rate seems alot. I was getting more mileage out of rears on an M5 than that.
  9. 11,000 miles? I've had almost 30k out of the original tyres and they are not half worn yet (Continentals on a Greenline)
  10. I've had clutch issues on mine since it was almost new. The pedal would creak sometimes as if something wasn't lubricated properly. After 40,000 miles a garage finally diagnosed a faulty slave cylinder, replaced it and its not fine.
  11. Exactly the same with me. Just recently changed the battery and its solved it. Car is 2.5 years old.
  12. Mine gives days and miles and is on fixed.
  13. I make a habbit of driving as ecconomically as I can. I often get more than 60mpg on a journey, sometimes alot more. I'm at 740 miles from the current tank (a couple of long trips and about 50 short journeys of 8 miles or less). The range is showing 45 miles but even when it hits 0, I'll only get 55 litres in it. 785 / 55 X 4.54 = 64.78mpg over the tank. It is a Greenline though.
  14. After my experience with Skoda (its continually appauling every time I have an issue), I would have zero-tollerance in your situation and reject it. Don't yeild and don't put up with driving around in a cheaper car than the one you paid for if they seem to just be sitting on their hands.
  15. Give Skoda UK a ring and tell them you'll be rejecting the car as if this is how you are treated so soon into ownership of such an issue, you don't want to find out what its going to be like if you have a more serious problem.
  16. I've had this. Just had a new KESSY module from the dealership under warranty (picked the car up today). If its under warranty, get it to a dealership.
  17. Alloy wheels are much thicker and hence heavier.
  18. Slightly off topic but I assume you have seen this? http://www.dailypost.co.uk/incoming/coastal-defences-review-needed-after-6469211
  19. Don't panic, I have exactly the same. The winter tyres are clearly stickier (you can feel it when they are new) and thus have more rolling resistance which decreases ecconomy. I would get very high 50's or low 60's in the summer but am getting 53mpg in the winter. Same car as you.
  20. Mine won't let me lock the door if the key is inside. No warning tone or lights flashing, just nothing.
  21. I think I paid around £85 for the spare wheel and jack kit when I bought the car (new). They are available on ebay for more but then I may not be rememering the price correctly. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Skoda-Superb-Spare-Wheel-Tyre-And-Kit-/171080324997?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Rims_Car_Wheels_ET&fits=Car+Make%3ASkoda|Model%3ASuperb&hash=item27d52e9785 Remember that the V6 has larger brakes so I cannot be sure that this 16" steel wheel will go over them. Regarding front sensors, I'd be looking for a car with park assist as this includes front sensors. I doubt you'd be able to find a place that would match the front and rear sensors otherwise. For sound, Jakes advice above sounds excellent. There is an upgraded stereo option available to 10 speakers. Not sure how many people took it up when buying theirs.
  22. You could try rebooting the unit. To do so press < and > (which are to the left of the CD slot) and the voice recognition button which is the one to the right of the CD slot. Press all three together.
