What colour have you got ?
White, not my first choice of colour but it looks OK. I'd imagine it will be as difficult to keep looking good as the Black Magic VRS I used to have.

Thanks,
Yes Pre FL
Just seems odd that most of the tyre websites list a wider tyre.

Having just bought a 2 year old Octavia VRS 230 at the weekend, I was wondering what the standard tyre size is. The car is fitted with 225/35R19 but the majority of tyre websites list 235/35R19.

Hello, thought I would reintroduce myself as I haven't been on here for years. I joined Biskoda back in 2005 when I bought a MK I Octavia vRs, but sold it a couple of years ago and have been driving a diesel Toyota Avensis Tourer since (reliable but boring). Time has come to hopefully buy another Octavia. This time a 2 year old vrs 230.

Don't think it's worth worrying about, mine were similar if not worse when I replaced them a couple of weeks ago. They still worked better than most other cars I have driven.
-
I have the same problem, noticed after remap, switched back to standard found it was still there just not so noticeable. I think I have found a cure, replaced fuel pressure regulator with 4bar one last week and haven't noticed any hesitation since.

My Y reg has 16's, it seems some early ones have 16's and others 17's.

Y reg VRS 37500 miles, about 10000 by me since buying it about 20 months ago.

Does anyone else have an opinion on this drag figure as mine is 48.5 BHP also at Star. While I am not disputing the figures I did think this was high for transmission losses in a front wheel drive, as figures I saw for a BMW only showed losses of 20 BHP.

16 secs seems slow where was that timed may i ask
i was running consistant late 14's with 193 bhp
It was timed by local car club on an airstrip they get occasional use of,but everything seemed to have slowish times, possibly gear not set up properly. I will be trying again shortly.

thanks for the heads up. just checked mine which are made in china but have the correct number after the e13 (phew!)
Just checked mine, they are also made in China and have the e13 stamp.

Remap, K&N panel filter and Forge DV gave 206BHP 218 LBS/FT.
Wheel output was 155BHP. More power available but boost was held back as I don't have access to higher octane unleaded.
Did consistent 16 second quarter miles.
Fuel economy has suffered a bit as a result.

Has somebody put petrol in by mistake?

whats maf stand for?
Mass Air Flow
The sensor measures air intake to engine.

Try inside the fuel flap.

Tried to find info myself but as far as i can see they make very little difference, but a CAI should be best option

Ford Capri 2.0 followed by Citroen Visa Gti

I get upto 10 mpg more with remap off but miss the extra oomph. Think i'll have to cut costs for a while petrol now

Going to the Unst Thrash in Shetland on 22nd July. It is organised by The Shetland Motorsport Club. Any suggestions for best way to launch 200Bhp + octy down the quarter mile.
-
No failures yet but original owner had new set under warranty.
-
I have seen various threads about air filters but does anyone have any opinions on pipercross viper or vis kits or am I better just to fit an element ? No other mods as yet but thinking about a remap. All replies gratefully received.
Cheers, Gordon
P.S it's an Octy vRS

I find mine much easier to park after only a few weeks than my previous car a Toyota Avensis which I had for over 2 years.
-
A Briskoda Octy vRS owner in Shetland!! Excellent - what speed have you had on the Tingwall straight
Don't live up there now :( :(
There are a few other octy and furby vRS's here. I have only had a short blast down the straight when test driving it, been too wet and windy since I bought it to try it flat out, :( also plod is clamping down at the moment due to complaints of bad driving :thumbdwn: They caught 2 teenagers racing last week and there was a fatal accident at the weekend.

Only the basic unleaded available here in Shetland and it is currently
Turbo issue
in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Posted
Morning people, my 2016 Octy vRS TSi has developed a turbo issue. It is putting up code P00AF. I haven't actually looked at it yet but I am assuming it is the variable vanes sticking due to carbon build up. The issue only presents itself when cold, as soon as it starts to warm up it is fine.
However I recall seeing somewhere there is an issue with these turbos. Anyone have any info?
