  1. If I remember I had to pay for the locate car function. but cannot sound horn or flash lights I was advise that in order to operate the lock /unlock function you have to send a copy of your driving license to your scoda dealer. I have done this on three occasions over the past year but no effect. Advise to anybody do not pay for anything in the app it is useless.
  2. If I am correct you now have to purchase the facility to save destinations in the Nav system.
  3. Likewise here. I think you now have to pay for some of the facilities on the app.
  4. I have just paid to "renew" my infortainment package but , cannot see what I am getting for my money. My reason for renewing was my method of keying in and saving destinations changed at about the time my initial "free year" ended and ,I thought this was the reason for the change. Nothing has changed since I paid .
  5. My free 12month scoda connect has just expired and I have not renewed . Since then I have noticed that the method of address entry into my navigation system (Columbus) has changed and is very awkward. If I do not enter the street name first the screen just does nothing. I must enter the street name first and then the number for any destination to show. I wonder if the end of my free connect has caused this.
  6. I thought I was was bad having to replace my octavia key battery after 10 months.
  7. My previous Superb had a facility whereby the fog light came on with the indicator when the steering wheel was turned. However my new Octavia does not have such a facility . Does any body know if this facility can be activated on the Octavia.
  8. I tried this and ,while it resets the milage to next service. I am still getting an "inspection now!" notice for approx 5 seconds when I turn the ignition.
  9. Thanks folks for all the info but, no matter what I try I still cannot clear the check now warning . It would seem my model (2015) only allows garage to reset this item. The milage to next service was capable of being reset ok. I guess I will have to just put up with it until my next service.
  10. My 2015 Superb elegence has just been serviced , however I have just discovered that the garage neglected to reset the service interval counter. My previous 2011 model had a reset feature in the service drop down menu but, this is not visable on the present car. Each time I start I get a "check now" notice for about 5 seconds on the display and a gong. Initally an overdue date was also displayed but, I was able to reset this by bring up settings page and, keeping a finger on the odo reset button for approx 5 secs. As my service garage is apporx an hours drive away, does anybody know of a work around to reset this check now notice.
  11. You are right it is a workaround but it does prevent my windows from opening by themselves. It actually disables all actions including folding in wing mirrors other than open or close from the fob.
  12. Problem solved. Contacted a very helpful Scoda dealer, who told me it was a common problem and talked me through a cure. On maxidot display : go to settings-convenience-windows op. This will bring up 3 options off, all, or driver. set the setting to off. The dealer told me that they usually set this to off and, advise the owner of its availability before they release a car.
  13. Thanks for that. Will check out a few of the suggestions, meanwhile I will try contacting dealer and scoda
  14. Can anybody shed light on the cause of or, a cure for this problem: On two occasions in the recently, I have returned to my car to find all four windows open. On the first occasion it had been parked in an underground airport carpark for 10 days but, today it was in an open carpark for only an hour. Which could have been a problem if it rained and a bigger one if stolen.
  15. Update to my maps problem. I aquited a large capacity DVD (8.5Gig capacity) Using Roxio I made a copy of the maps disc. Put it in the columbus and within about 30 mins the maps were loaded to the hard disc. It would seem that there was a problem with the original disc, which prevented it finishig the download, but it obviously copied ok to the second disc. Prior to starting this process I had no maps on my hard disc but, they worked ok from the DVD. I now have them on the hard disc.
  16. Folks thanks for all the replies but,at this stage I have had my DVD in for a total of possibly 8 hours two 3 hour periods continuous with the car stopped and, the rest while driving but, I still keep getting the message "data downloading do not remove disc etc.". I think I have a DVD disc problem which is not actually writing to the hard disc. My problem now is the downloading sequence has scrubbed the original maps from my hard disc , they will however work from the DVD. I am afraid to try any further methods like trying to load from SD etc in case I do further damage. A visit to the dealer is on the cards for next week. Will keep you all posted.
  17. That could be my problem as I havn't been on a drive long enough. I assumed that each time I started up it would continue from where it stopped, but, it obviously starting from scratch each time. The system does work from the dvd but, if I try removing it, I then have no maps and it looks for the disc. I will however have a 90 min drive over the next few days so that will prove thing one way or another. If that fails it will be a visit to the dealer. I will report back after the weekend. Thanks for all the advise.
  18. How did you manage the power. I left mine in the driveway for approx two hours with ignition on, only to find the battery flat.
  19. I have obtained a copy (legally) of ver.14 western europe maps for the above system. Does anybody know how long it should take to upload and install on the disc. It is approx 3 hours running already and, if I try to remove the DVD it tells me it is still loading. I removed it once after 1.5 hrs only to find my maps on the hard disc no longer function. The maps work ok while the "loading " process is in progress. Any help would be appreciated.
  20. Problem solved but ,I now have to figure out how to replace bulb
  21. I turned off the footwell lights on my 2015 Superb but, on turning back on I have none on the driver side. OK on passenger side, and, below both rear seats but, none on driver side . I cannot remember if there should be one there also. Can anybody advise.
  22. Thanks folks you are both right . I do feel like an ass. It is a function of the phone. For anybody else with a S4 it is controlled by the "media volume adjustment" on the phone.
  23. Does anybody know if it possible to adjust the "ping" sound when a mobile phone connects or disconnects via bluetooth on ignition switch on or off.
  24. I have done a few more experiments and the following would seem to be the system. Different positions set on each key----seat moves to the assigned key position when opened.. If the seat is manually moved before exiting it stays in that position when opened on next occasion with same key. Ex: Key 1 used and seat moves to assigned position, on leaving car seat is moved manually and car locked with key 1. If car is opened next with Key 1 seat does not move but stays in position it was manually moved to when locking . However if key 2 is next used --seat moves to key 2 assigned position . It would seem that manually moving the seat before exiting resets the key memory to that position... . . Hope I explained things clearly. Thank you everybody for your contributions. .
