  1. I'm annoyed! My 5 month and 3.5k mile monte window washers have packed up! A few days of freezing temps and it's stopped working. No pump noise and no water from either front or rear.

Topped it up, changed the fuse (number 46) but nothing..

    Will phone the garage tomorrow.

  2. Each to their own!! List price of rapid sport and fabia Monte are pretty similar right for the same engine so I guess its down to what you prefer looks wise. Spec is fairly similar too. I found it difficult looking at the fabia Monte estate vs rapid sport vs Octavia s as the price and spec is not a mile apart for each.

  3. I have the full electric window option on my Monte and discovered a weird bit of functionality on the driver's window. It has one touch opening but when you wind down the window it stops about 5mm short of fully wound down. If you then press window open button again three times it will wind down the final 5mm.

It must be designed to do that as its fully repeatable and the fact you need to press the down button 3 times to get it to go all the way down. But why!!

Only discovered this while bored in a drive through queue and my arm was uncomfortable leaning on the window until I managed to find the 3 press secret! :)

  4. I love the engine! However with a full loaded car going on holiday with wife kids and a full estate boot up hills it's definitely at the limit of what the engine can do. Glad I have 6 gears as I needed it! But that's once or twice a year plus only done 500 miles so it's still tight. Other than that definitely a great engine. Plenty of low down torque so no need to rev high but get it over a few thousand revs and it does come alive.

  5. Only get a driver's one touch if you specify rear electric Windows too!

Where is the take control button?? My cruise has on, cancel and off. A flick of the spring cancel button will cancel it but enable it to be reactivated from the stalk controls again. Flicking it to off turns off cruise completely.

Parking lights confuse me too!!! I just leave my headlights on all the time and when ignition is off then all lights turn off too!!

I think running in is both right in the manual and the dealer. The manual is to be extra cautious as it's written down but really the car is ready to drive from the factory just needs to be loosened up a little.

Variable servicing is when the car calculates when it needs it's service based upon type of driving and mileage. Wasn't aware this was available on the fabia.

  6. How does the speed limiter work Oni? Can you essentially boot it but the car will only rev enough to maintain the speed you have set?

Curious as I semi-regret not getting cruise control on my soon-to-arrive Monte Carlo, as I do suffer from throttle leg ache on long journeys and wondered if you set the limiter if you can essentially rest your foot fully on the gas and not exceed the set speed.

    Cheers in advance!

I have the cruise option and the speed limiter and yes you are right out in 70mph on the speed limit setting and no matter how hard you press the go pedal you cannot go faster than 70!

  7. That's a lovely touch by the dealer! I wish more people understood that it'd small inexpensive things like this that make the difference and generate positive word of mouth publicity.

Car looks great! Is the panoramic roof larger in the estate? I've seen it in the hatch but the one in yours looks much larger.

Sorry still haven't got round to taking a photo but the sun roof in the estate stretches right back to the rear quarter light window so I reckon it might be longer than the hatch

  8. Found something that annoys me! The heating controls! When I turn the temp down to min the re circulation turns on and so does the a.c.. I don't want that!! It does other strange things too depending on the position of the temp and air direction. Listen car I know how to demist and heat a car!!! You back right off! Lol :)

And postion one on the blower seems really weak where as position two is like a hurricane!!

  9. Well I've just done over 100 miles in it so haven't had much time but I love it! The looks are spot on, it drives very nicely with the 110 engine and six years and handles nicely too on the lowered suspension with a good balance between roll and being too hard. Perfect for motorway cruising with enough power in 6th for over takes and also in town is nimble enough too.

Love the interior and the tech available. Not a fan of Mirrorlink though. My wife and kids love it. It basically ticks all the boxes for me. Small and cheap to run with a large boot good looks and quick enough.

    At moment I haven't found anything I don't like!!

The silly thing I love is the throttle blip from standstill that the drive by wire does!!

Oh one grumble the lights don't sound a warning when you leave them on and lock the car - but after rushing back to check the clever car actually turns them off itself anyway so no warning required

  10. Just a bit of info I have an LG g4 and a new Monte with armundsun nav and tried connectivity last night. Mirrorlink worked but there are no apps on my phone! Downloaded Android auto and it linked up and gave me Google maps and spotify. But word of warning seems spotify can only read a limited number of your tracks and playlists !! Pretty poor. I think I will stick with Bluetooth media playing despite not being able to see track listings.
