Thanks guys, any chance of a photo please? I've been to a dealer and they say yes but the repairer are saying no. If I get a pic they'll have no choice but to put them on.

Hi Guys
Recently I was hit in the rear by another car, responsibility was accepted and car was repaired.
When it came back the badges were missing from the rear and a few things weren't right and didn't look the same. Car has gone back to have these rectified,
Anyway one of the issues I have is the rear wheel arches, just doesn't look right. Could anyone with a FL vRS please send me pics of the rear wheel arches particularly the back side, as I am sure there was a lining on mine before it went back. The garage is disputing this but was hoping to get some pics of other cars to see if it's the same, Haven't been able to see one parked up and it's hard to see when they drive past.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, do you have any of these still for sale?

Hi, thinking of getting a Columbus RNS 510 for my octavia vrs (2010), what will I need to do so I can get the display up on my maxi dot too?

Anybody?

Hi, my Octavia vRS has a Kufatec Fusion hands free installed. Works ok but if (when I'm parked up) listening to the radio and I text for example it always mutes the radio, anyone have this hands free and know how to get around this? Happens when I get an email, text etc. TIA

Hi, anyone know where I can get hold of a spare wheel kit? The foam bit in the boot, jack etc?
Don't really trust the puncture kit that's in there now.
The only there option is run flats. Has anyone used runlets on an Octavia vRS? I've got a 2010 one.
Cheers

In my car I have a bluetooth module, not a Skoda one. The music streaming cometh through the "handsfree" and can control it through my maxi dot display but audio quality is awful. I am looking to change my BT module for one that will stream through the radio properly.

I"m in Bristol.
Cd's don't seem to fit in the main head unit. There seems to be something blocking them..
You need to select which slot you want the disc to go into first then insert the CD. Press the media button then CD and you should get a display of the slots.
-
If you're not happy with them, change the discs, but if the breaking is the same you've wasted £200

Ah that explains it, thanks guys

Ok, seems like a silly question but here goes.
Got my 2010 Octavia vRS on Friday. There are two bulbs I don't know what they do, just above and to the outside of the dipped beam lights, anyone know what these are? Tested all lights and these don't come on.

After a few years out of a vRS due to having a company car etc I'm getting back into one on Friday. Cant wait.

So, after a few years out I'm back in the club and pick up my Octavia vRS on Thursday

no laquer. thought it looked better. would that cause a problem?
sent via Playbook and Tapatalk
I would really put laquer on them. Easier to clean and protects the paint.
I refurbed wheels on an old 406 I had years ago, didn't put laquer on them and the break dust played havoc with them.

Sad day today, my trusty Octavia II vRS has gone to a new home =(
It was a trusty stead and will be missed. But was a shame to leave it standing on the drive.
Have a Mondeo Titanium X Sport as a company car now with powershift, this comes nowhere near DSG, there isn't even paddle shift. I will definitely go back to an Octavia vRS when it's time to hand the keys to the mondeo back. Hopefully by then the Mk III vRS will be more in my price range after being out for a bit.
Hope the new owner of the vRS has as much fun as I did.

I had an issue with mine like this, I had the a/c serviced but still didn't work. Basically it worked for a bit then went warm again (same symptoms as low gas). Turned out to be the A/C Compressor, around £500 for a dealer to replace, luckily I had Warranty Direct on it =)

Do you have to have an engine cover? Sureley theres nothing in the warranty that says you do?
Don't know if you have to have it. Is it just for looks or does it protect anything?
I'm just going to find a second hand one and fit it myself!
Oh and I'm cancelling the warranty today, why pay a premium for something that won't let you claim? It's not like it's wear and tear lol.
-
I've got a service plan with Skoda and this covers MOT, Servicing etc. I'm definately cancelling my warrany it's around £30 a month for main dealer cover it's cheaper if you use an inipendent garage as they don't use genuine parts and labour is cheaper, not worth it now and take my car to another garage to fix. Sailed through the MOT.
I may have been a bit harsh about it being the beginning of the end! There are other things that need fixing on it, loads of little things that have added up. Creeped up on my as it was serviced last summer and had no problems at all.
Major things : Boot Seal £108, Rear Bumps worn and perished £129.91, Auxiliary Belt worn and perished, Engine cover £215
Might look at getting a used engine mount and just fitting it myself.
It's technically off the road now anyway as I have the company car but I can't bring myself to sell it - it's a cracking car.

I have Windows 8 on the work laptop. Found a program called Start8 which puts the start button and start menu back.
So far, other than the interface has been de-aero'd everything is working fine. Essentially it's Win 7 with the interface messed around to appeal to mobile users.
Nothing exciting to see. Stick with 7.
It's good that there is no aero in it, that just makes things too fancy with no real advantage!

The Octavia vRS went in for a MOT and service yesterday
Got around £700 bill, and nothing is covered by warranty direct. Is this the beginning of the end?
At least it passed it's mot with HID and LED Sidelights =)
Lots of little things including Rear boot seal, when it rains the spare wheel bay becomes a paddling pool, engine cover mount broken - £215 to to fix this issue .... £215 for an engine cover mount? Because of this problem the oil cap keeps breaking, on my 3rd cap now at £15 a pop!
Glad I've got the new company car an not using much of the Skoda, I can get things done in stages now. Not complaining too much, not much gone wrong with it over the years and still happy with it. Done over 114,000 miles now so should expect a few things.
One thing I have noticed, got a Mondeo Titanium X Sport with 19" rims as a company cay which has "sports suspension" and the ride i a LOT less harsh than the Octavia. Anyone who has driven between J3a and J5 of the M42 will know what I mean!!

All the problems I had with my vRS TFSI was when I first got it! From the address in the owners manual the previous owner was in the RAF and in his last 2 years of ownership it had done 2500 miles, so things like seals had gone and the most expensive thing was the a/c compressor. I put warranty direct on it and luckily everything was sorted with minimal costs. Since then only minor things have gone wrong and they are things that you would expect. Done just over 110k in it now.
I do have the oil consumption, the main dealer told me it does use 1litre of oil per 1000 miles, does seem ridiculous i know, it depends on how you drive the car, floor it all the time and the oil goes down quick but drive sensibly and it lasts a while, I do 100 miles a day to/from work and utually top up once a month. On my drive to work I stick to 60 on the motorway, that way a tank of fuel lasts me a week =)
Skoda recommends 5-30 oil which they sell for around £20 but you can get the same oil in wilkinsons for £11. I use 5-30 or 5-40
I really don't know why 07 vRS Taxi has so many problems, sounds like a dud car to me.
This one does sound like an ex lease and probably serviced regularly but keep in mind how some company car drivers drive... it's not their car and they don't really care about it.

Probably - my guess is that the white nut that retains the headlight was never tightened properly on the o/side at the factory so, having now done that when you changed the bulb the o/side alignment is slightly too high. I had exactly the same on mine when I changed to HID's and found the o/side light too high (fortunately I'd taped up the alignment on the garage door with the car parked 20 yards away before I started so it was eeasy to adjust (adjusters are on the inside corner of the the light unit)
Wish I'd done that when I changed to HIDs! Luckily just had my winter service done by Skoda and they've aligned them for me =)

Thanks much appreciated, that's brilliant. Is your liner flush with the wheel arch as below or is it indented like mine? I recollect that the rear was flush too.
Top pic is front and bottom is rear
