Just been offered a deal on 66 plate 2.0 petrol Estate to replace my 16 plate 2.0 diesel Hatch as I need a hoist for a mobility scooter and try as I might I cant get one to fit the hatch. I understand the scales of economy in buying new but used is somewhat different.
What's the consensus - wait for a diesel or go for the petrol. 15 mpg is a lot to give up but no dpf nonsense??

After all the doom and gloom in some of the posts regarding delivery times from Superskoda, I ordered the polished stainless V3 bumper protector on Sunday. I ordered early to be sure it would be here soon enough (my black Superb III Combi should be delivered about week 32).
But Monday (week 23) I received an e-mail saying that it has already shipped! Fast service from Superskoda. It should be here latest week 25 (after going through customs etc.) and will give an update when it arrives.
Well you were the exception not the rule SwissRob. I ordered a Matt Alu look one from them 3 weeks ago with supposedly over a 1000 in stock. Got an email to say despatched. When I checked with them yesterday guess what - out of stock and don't know when they will get them back. Had my money for 3 weeks!
Wont be buying from them again and got my money back. Buyers beware!

These are the ones that I used in my 8 in MKIII Columbus. One has glossy the other has matte finish.
These are for a 2015 Superb which is Mark 2????

Something else I wanted to add. When adding a logo on my Columbus unit, I can only seem to do it through the preset screen view. Am I right in thinking that you can only add 18 logos then???
-
Yup. Same issue for me

Can anyone provide some info on this thread. On the Columbus 8 that I have in my superb 3 it will only let you add the logos in the preset screen as far as i can see which means you can only have 18 logos max. Or am I missing something? Also, the logo that is in the preset screen doesn't also transfer to the Station Info screen - anyone know why??
Apologies but I meant to say that the Logo doesn't always transfer to the Station Info screen from the preset screen.

Bought a Skoda Superb 3 the other week. The steering wheel was in a bad state as per Photos 1 & 2
I spoke to a leather specialist who said most wheels are not great quality leather these day. Also, medication like statins and blood pressure tablet can leech chemicals through the skin and can damage the leather, - Who'd have thought it?
Purchased a refurb kit and some leather filler from Ebay :
You'll also need some very fine grade sandpaper, 400, 800 & 1200 grit if you need to sand any rough bit. (yes you can carefully sand leather!)
Job entailed following the instructions in the kit - Clean, dry. Then a bit of sanding and filling where necessary, Dry with a hairdryer then apply the colour. Many thin layers work the best. Dry in between layers and leave to cure for a couple of hours
Final pictures show the finished article. May give it a couple more thin coats yet
Dead easy - IF you follow the instructions and exercise care when sanding

What internet connection speed do you have?
The maps are massive files and could take hours to download on a normal broadband connection.
Before having fibre installed at home (lucky enough to have fibre into the house) whenever I tried to update our iPhones through iTunes (the full downloads) the connection would almost always crash, and I’d revert to downloading the ‘light’ version on the phones themselves.
Since going over to fibre this problem has never happened, and I can now download files such as iOS & map updates in minutes, rather than hours...these files are getting crazy big...
You could download over 4g on your mobile if you used it as hotspot to connect your computer to it, but you’re relying on a solid phone signal and a healthy data allowance!
Cheers,
Nick
Got fibre like you. Managed to download it overnight and now my maps are up to date!
Appreciate the help though.

They screw into a plastic insert, no nuts needed.
Why would you choose to screw them on rather than stick them on though?
Got cherished plate. Can they be screwed anywhere then or is the plastic plate in a certain position?
-
Anyone got their plates screwed on instead of stuck? If you did it yourself, was it easy to gain access to put the nuts on the plastic screws?
-
Been trying to update my maps to latest version but having trouble with the portal site.
When I start to download the file it takes forever to even start and when it does it freezes my PC intermittently. When it does resume it's stating over a day to download!
Also, does anyone know of a way to download over a mobile device that works well
Thanks in advance...
-
Well that would be very German wouldn't it?
Thanx for the info.

Bought a cherished plate for my Superb. Current ones are stuck on but thinking of screwing these new ones on. Is this possible? Only Superb 3s I see around seem to have stuck on ones.

The only way to do it is to line the edges with 3m knifeless finish line tape, stick on a gloss screen protector of big enough size and trim excess off with the knifeless tape.
You made need to practice first but it's what they use to cut shapes on vinyl wrap without putting a blade to the car.
Not sure what the finish would be like and you may suffer excess reflection but for a few quid it's worth a try. If you do it I wouldn't mind seeing the results as I've got the same matte screen too.

Yes it can.
But it can be expensive. Worst case scenario is you have to change the headunit, ecm/gateway and the camera itself + coding.

You may need fitting help from VAG dealer.
Looked at this and it says from week 22 2016 - as the dealer said.

Yup. Air con drain. Just had mine replaced. Dealer did it foc as goodwill cos it's not covered under warranty. A bit frustrating as I know it's not an isolated issue. I will be speaking to Skoda Customer Care about it
