  1. Reliability mainly, and it drives a lot better than a stock Fabia.
  2. I have just put my VRS SE/LE up for sale so its time to say goodbye! I have gone back to Honda's for now, but you never know i maybe back at some stage. I'm sure ill still be browsing around as usual.
  3. I lost my locking wheel nut key and i ordered one from eBay as i foolishly thought mine was spline type, but it's not. Can anyone tell me what type of key this is? Is it original or 3rd party?
  4. Hmm, well i think if that was the case then it would happen every time the car is cold, but it seems to be intermittent.
  5. I did change the fuel filter a few months ago and replaced the little seals don't think it's leaking as couldn't see any when running. Don't notice any smoke apart from hard acceleration due to map. Just went to the car after a couple hours and again started on the button.
  6. So not sure if this has any bearing but got in the car this morning and started on the button straight away, my driveway is on a slope with the front facing down. Maybe it only happens on flat not sure.
  7. Do you know how to test it with a multimeter to be sure?
  8. Yer I was thinking that or injector seals I don't know. I don't want to chuck money at it for the sake of it but guess that is a cheap part to start with.
  9. Hi, Seem to have a problem with my vrs more when cold I think. After work I went to start it and wouldn't start. I tried again and got it to start but cut out, did this a couple of times and managed to keep it running, pulled away and it was kangarooing quite aggressively once or twice when off the throttle. I have checked the battery and alternator and seems ok. I scanned it with a crappy cheap scanner and no faults. Not sure what else it can be. Any ideas would be great.
  10. @OldTrilobite I'm not from the worst place in the UK, but it certainly isn't great! The doctors and NHS is so stretched and overworked that i just feel like a pain going to them. I did swap to another GP after that incident who specialised in Mental Health, he was a lot better, but sadly he has now retired so i rarely visit the doctors. If i wan't an appointment it's a minimum of three weeks or ring up first thing for an "emergency appointment" where i can just sit and wait. That's why in the end i paid for private care and although it's expensive it is a lot better. Thank you for sharing your story, i think it's important for people to discuss their experiences. Personally medication didn't work for me, but i didn't only try a few. I know it can work for some and that is great. It doesn't matter how you find help, just get some. You sound like a really strong guy and you are able to ride it out which is great If you do need to talk to someone you can always drop me a PM. If you have even one person who can support you then it's great, it really can make the difference between surviving or not, sadly for me that wasn't really the case and had to rely on myself to make it through.
  11. Ah my apologies i misread. The fact that you understand it to a point and accept it rather than being in denial or letting it overpower you is still a feat. What do you do when your feelings build? Some people do just crack on, but it's more of a cover up than actually dealing with and facing their problems.
  12. I hope the case is resolved quickly to avoid any further stress for yourself and family. Sometimes family/friends can make the difference between surviving or not, so it's great you have that support For what the NHS provides it is good and i feel bad criticising it as the people that work in hospitals are under massive stress. Over worked and underpaid springs to mind, but i do think the government needs to do more in this area. It's fantastic that we can use forums for extra support when we need it and that's what is becoming apparent to me, that even if you don't have the support you need like myself and so many others then there is a place you can go to that can help. As we all share a similar interest in cars it can help massively.
  13. Thank you very much, it means so much to get some positive responses from others on what can be a very difficult subject. I am so sorry to hear about what happened to your wife, especially when it's something that can potentially be avoided (like medical negligence) Did you take the hospital to court or anything like that? I can only imagine the pain you went through and to come out the other side stronger is such a credit to you! Do you have a strong network of family/friends? Did you seek any help? How did you cope. Apologies with all the questions, just trying to get an idea as to what people do. This thread has been great so far, so thank you to everyone that has contributed. I am already in talks with another car forum to arrange a charity show/meet so i may get in contact with the Admins here to see if that's something they would like to be apart of.
  14. It is sad to hear such stories, i have been in very similar situations myself. It's so hard for people to get the support and help they need and they end up doing things like that and feel like there is no end. How did that affect you? I know a lot of train drivers can be affected quite strongly by incidents like that. No worries, whenever you are ready, no rush.
