  1. I asked the same question many moons ago when I got my Mk3 VRS and there wasnt any, nor was they any springs for the vRS at that time. Whether its changed since Im not sure as it was 4 years ago.

I spoke to Eibach and they supplied me the springs which actually was A3 sportback ones but said the octavia’s will be the same when released.

For such a small drop made a huge difference.

  2. So....I took delivery of my FL SEL yesterday.

I ticked the Canton Sound System, but if im been honest it sounds no better quality than what i would expect in a standard car. It has no bass at all.

I adjusted the setting to be set to be more biased for the Front which improved the bass and quality some what but unsure why this isnt the case when its set to the whole car.

Does anyone have any tips as to settings etc?

Im comparing it to my wifes FL A3 which has the similarly priced Bang & Olufson upgrade which the Canton you simply cannot compare it to.

    Any help would be appreciated

  3. Evening All,

Well I've dropped on a little, 3 years ago saw me sell my beloved and one of the first Mk3 Octavia vRS Estates after only 12 months of ownership due to going in to a company van.

After 3 years of various personal cars for the wife and vans for me, I have found myself ordering my first company car (limited choice), to which due to budget restriction from work I went for the following:

    - FL Octavia SE L

    - 1.6tdi

    - Pearl Black

    - LED Rear Lights (High)

    - Alios 18" wheels

    - Canton Sound System

I am very glad I went for the LED rear lights, feel it makes he car much more modern, good comparison of the two here with another SE L parked next to mine.

Id never seen one in the spec so was keen to see it (hoping it was how I thought), I received my reg from the lease company and it just so happened it was a local reg so thought id have a look at the local dealer and it so happens a car of my exact spec was there.

I have post as I have not yet seen the spec (i.e. wheel, lights and colour) so thought id share to help others.

Look forward to it being delivered next week.

    Thanks

  4. I recently sold my 2016 Golf GTD with xenon to make way for my FL octavia next week with LED and the misses has a FL A3 that has LED.

I found as with any LED's they are very bright but too direct for my liking. Assurrounding areas are either dark or really lit up theres no fade like you get with halogen and xenon.

dont let this put you off as they are very lights and hugely better than halogen and would equal to xenon

    Thanks for the replies.

I just fitted my MY15 VRS III with the following and it's working well:

I would just stress that the OEM LED number plate lights have a certain orientation. They fit in a certain way without any modification but this is incorrect! They need to be flipped 180 degrees and a small plastic tab cut off with a Stanley knife so that the light points at the plate and not straight to the ground. The correct way is shown below: (Image courtesy of @Robfab)

Also the wiring adapter with resistors needs to be altered too as per this:

    https://www.drive2.com/l/9018561/

I must say I dont recall needing to cut anything off but could be wrong as it was a long time ago.

     Robfab,

I have installed the carsystems ones like you have and as you say, they are excellent quality. I've ordered resistors and just wondering are you still on your original set of them?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I only owned the car for 12 months so been a while now but would expect them to be still workibg fine now. I had an audi S3 with the same lights (which came standard) with no issues.

    Hi mate :)
I am considering buying these leds from Ledperf but there also is another option and that is to get genuine Skoda/VW leds from http://www.carsystems.pl/license-plate-led-3af943021a-x2,id366.html
    Then you also need http://www.carsystems.pl/license-plate-led-plug-play-warning-canceler-3af,id1096.html

...to get rid of the error.

The difference is like 13euros, in total. (50 vs 37e)
Do you have any pics of the leds + resistors from LEDPERF? I would like to see how it looks like as they show no pics on the website.

    Thanks!!!

The carsystems ones is the ones I originally installed 4 years ago now on my mk3 vrs I had at the time.

In my opinion no comparison to cheap aftermarket ones that dont shine in the correct direction or  give them best light off

    Now with added chrome

    Hi,

looks good, whats your thoughts on the Aliexpress kit?

do you have any close up photos?

i wasnt able to opt for the lower chrome trim and now too late to add it, so looking at other options.

How do these fix? Is it a replacement or cover?

As I under stand it the chrome trim is attached to the rear side windows. Therefore you would need to cut these windows out to change the trim.

I was planning to go the other way around because the black pack wasn't available in Denmark and I don't like chrome. But just seems to be too much hassle with risk of leaks afterwards. Might end up dipping my chrome black or wrapping the trim. But that doesn't help you as you want to convert it the other way. :-)

I think you might be correct, My thoughts is to have them wrapped, going to wait until it arrives and if I think it looks fine then so be it.

  10. Hi,

I have a Mk3 Octavia SE L on order, however didn't add the chrome window trim as normally not a fan of chrome (being in my 20's its not the thing to have haha), however I have since seen a few SE L with the trim and think it suits them very well and gives that executive look.

Any suggest anywhere I can purchase some other than the dealers?

I have looked on Super Skoda with no luck.

    Thanks

Not a problem, you know where I am.

Hopefully mid August for the Kodiaq, should know more when the factory opens again in BW30 (24th July) although there are rumours they are only having a 2 week shut down this year and will be back up and running next week

    Fingers crossed then.

what spec have you gone for? Cant imagine it to be low haha.

    Welcome back Rob!

As you know, I'm moving away from the O3 to the Kodiaq (when they eventually get round to assembling it from random parts in the Czech Republic :@ )

    Thanks mate.

Any news on when it arrives?

Think I may need a voyage to see you if you dont mind when it arrives.

    Cheers

    Welcome (back).

What's the wait time on a new se L? Is it just the same as a vrs (13-15 weeks ish?)

What do you mean by led rear lights (high), what's the high mean?

I just picked up my new vrs tdi last week and I'm absolutely loving it.

Iv been told start of october so around 12 weeks, all my others have been 12 weeks delivery.

yes the high I believe is all LED lights and look slightly smoked so thought looked better in my opinion.

    Regards

    Rob,

Gone the other way from company car - Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV to my own 2014 VRS Tdi.

PHEV was extremely tax efficient and comfortable (SHMBO called it the electric armchair), but the VRS is nice and nippy and not too bad economy either.

Nice to pick a car on performance for a change, and not have to study the CO2 emissions so not to get stung on the P11D value. Had a couple of superb greenlines previously because if this. Nice roomy motorway cars.

Anyhow, hope you enjoy the new Octavia, the benefits of no worry company car motoring are not to be underestimated.

    all the best

    Jason

Yes wish I was in your shoes.

Recently started using my own Golf GTD Estate for work but averaging 2500-3000 miles per month and the car is on a 66 plate and the air con broke, down to a stone chip in the condenser. VW wanted £760 to repair, i managed to get it done for £250 but thats what initiated the change as dont want the hassle and cost on my vehicle for work purposes.

enjoy your VRS, i loved my Mk3.
