  1. I think something like this should work with your camera. Much cheaper than kufatec option Look what I found on AliExpress http://s.aliexpress.com/aqIZVRJb
  2. A Ah! if you havent ordered yours you should consider the one i purchased. 88USD vs 200 euros.
  3. Thats a normal ccd camera. That wont fit into 26 pin behind the skoda columbus sys. You need a rgb camera with a different wiring kit if you want your columbus to display the reverse camera image.
  4. Nice! I looked for months to find a suitable boot handle one. Where did you get yours? Mind sharing a link?
  5. If you have a columbus reverse cam can be installed easily. And it will integrate with your ops system. I got mine from here. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Number-Plate-Lamp-holder-Parking-Camera-for-08-09-10-12-Skoda-Octavia-with-RNS315-510/1244599135.html?spm=2114.13010308.0.101.qqTG2Q The dimensions are not exactly the same as the license plate lamps on the car, but use a slightly longer screw at an angle an it will fit in. This is your only option without drilling any holes. Here are some pics on mine. I also converted my regular f/l octy to a vrs one with a bumper upgrade. And the mk3 flatbottom steering installed.
  6. hey thanks for this post. Im trying to fit a vrs bumper with the drls and fogs into my non vrs octy a5 f/l. This wiring diagram will definitely come in handy. Could you post the wiring diagram for the right side DRL too? Im quite sure its similar but would like to know for sure. Thanks
  7. Dont get it.. could you explain like you would do to a novice . anything i can do to correct it?
  8. I purchased an amundsen plus on ebay a while back. Waited for a while before i installed it. Everything works fine but the system keeps reloading in Dutch language every time the car is switched off and on. Ive tried removing the fuse, disconnecting the battery, meddling with vcds settings but nothing has worked. Unfortunately I cannot return the radio (as i am way past the 45 day return policy). Help Please!!! Paid quite a bit for this !!!
  9. Brilliant stuff! Im bit of a DIY novice but you've inspired me. THinking about ordering the rvc kit from the ebay link you sent. Just a couple of questions though I understand from the explanation in the link that the blue wire is to be connected to the reverse lights. But where exactly did you connect the red (12v+) and the black wire (gnd)? Do you think this camera size could fit a 2011 octavia? Would appreciate your help.
  10. Thanks eddie. Helping my friend a retrofit a mfsw for his 2013 octavia (not the new one). His steering wheel control module is 5k0953549. So i ordered the 5k0953549B like you did. Just one doubt though. What part number did you order for the airbag wiring? I ordered 3T0971584. Did i order the right one? Or should i have ordered 5K0971584C? Please let me know. Need this confirmation before i can go ahead with the mod. Thanks
  11. Wow. Great posts on this thread. Now I have the confidence to go for the full vrs bumper upgrade. Unfortunately skodateile had stopped selling the vrs led DRL wiring kit. He would have given me the wiring diagram with the kit too. That's the only thing I need now. Any suggestions as to where I can find the led DRL wiring kit?
  12. Could I add a mfsw in the place of an non mfsw for a 2011 fabia? Would I need a new control module and airbag wiring harness? I'd be satisfied with just buttons on the left as I don't have maxi dot. Advice please
  13. You probably wont post to India right?

Im confused as to how to go about this Is there anyway i can have all the functions (CD/AUX/SD/MDI/BT-AUDIO)??

  17. But i can get the drls with the wiring kit and the wiring diagram if i decide to go for it. With all that is still going to be difficult to get the drls to function properly? I can deal with the cost issue. But i dont want to delve into this if there's a chance that i may not get all the original drl functions...
  18. Got mine for skodateile. But its not a problem with the steering. I swapped mine with my friends vrs multifunction steering for a few days and still had the same problem.
  19. Thanks. Im talking about a complete vrs bumper retrofit here.. Are there any compatibility issues with the electronic control module/ BCM?? I want it function like the OE vrs bumper. From what i've heard the fogs aren't the problem but no one seems to be sure about the led drl's . Apparently the wiring unit is completely different. This is going to be one expensive endeavor so i just want to be sure..
  20. Any explanation as to why my left side steering button heat up much more than the right side? The difference is easily noticeable and quite significant..
  21. thanks...relieved!! I thought it was an electrical problem due to the multifunction steering wheel retrofit.. Its still quite odd that my left side steering buttons tend to heat up more than the right side..
  22. Hello, I swapped my 4 spoke regular steering for a 3 spoke multifunction steering with paddles around 5 months back. Over the last month or so i've noticed that the steering buttons start to get warm when the lights are on. This happens ONLY when the green illuminated button lights are on and it never happens during the day when the lights are off. It is more evident on the left side steering buttons when compared to the right. Im not suggesting that it gets scalding hot but heat can clearly be felt over the buttons.. Has anyone experienced this?? Is this common? I spoke to the skoda service centre guys who claimed that its normal but i wasnt convinced.
