Hi mate, I was in a similar position to you and thought I’d share my experience. My budget was smaller so I got a 2014 VRS for similar reasons, decent fuel economy, big boot and loads of space in the back. I think it’s quick enough for every day use. I’ve owned a Leon 280 and a golf R, both are great cars but they noticeably smaller inside. The golf in particular gave me the fear of being stolen, they are a magnet for car thieves. I don’t think you’d be disappointed in the vrs performance

I ordered my Karoq 1.5 SEL DSG on 17th may, eventually got an update from my dealer today that there's still no build date. I've had to cancel my order as I need the car by the end of september. Pretty disappointing and has taken a few weeks to get any kind of answer from my skoda dealer

I'd probably phone some insurance companies to ask for a quote. If it's not outrageously more expensive then it seems a good price for the car

What are you going to do with your car? Are you replacing it or still paying finance?

Orville I completely agree, just thought it would be nice for some people to read a positive experience as well. These forums can generally be a list of bad experiences

Today my VRS estate passed its first MOT, absolutely sailed through. In 3yrs of motoring all its cost is replacing tyres, fuel and tax. It's never missed a beat, performing the duties of the family car and somehow managing to look perfect still it's washed and hoovered!!
It's been my first Skoda and I'm really impressed with his it's performed. Even the running costs of the petrol engine have been relatively small, achieving 40mpg pretty easily

Yeah i get you. I've just found another thread on where someone else has noticed these at motorpoint. Seems the leather seats arnt heated which is minor to some but to me it's part and parcel of the leather package. Might just be me being picky. But you know what you want when forking out some dosh for a car. Criteria I guess. Again thanks for the input sir.

The pictures on that link show that the car has heated seats, it's also mentioned in the fitted extras.

I would guess 10.5k as a gfmv isn't a bad price come December and 40k miles, a 13 plate petrol VRS estate with 27k miles is only worth that just now according to Webuyanycar.com and a few dealers I exchanged emails with

Carwow is a dangerous thing! I decided to do a few different quotes, one of which was a golf r estate, a garage gave me a price which seemed a lot better than the competition so I got into a bit of dialogue with them. The book price quoted for my VRS petrol estate, 13 plate on 27k miles, Columbus satnav is between 11.5 and 12.5k [emoji15]
I think that makes the decision that I'm keeping the car

I've certainly not had any issues with West End, really good customer service and really improved the garage in Stirling since they took it on. Just found the negotiations on my car were pretty much take it or leave it

Yeah I've found West end pretty much give you a price and that's it, that's the joys of them having a monopoly in Central, West Lothian and Edinburgh. Ingrams down in Ayr seem to be more willing to do a deal and are a Carwow dealer

Yeah I did the same with my grille, wasn't too difficult to swap.
My spec would be similar but an estate version. I'm spoiled by having Columbus sat nav already

Did you buy the VRS on a PCP deal? If you did, what were the figures you ended up paying?

Don't worry I didn't think I was special! 2yrs into a PCP on my only Skoda would suggest that I'm hardly a loyal customer either [emoji23] I've just done a few different selections on car wow for VRS and scout estates so I'll see how they turn out, it'll either give my ammunition to haggle or convince me I don't need a new car

Julie was it from West End Skoda?

Has anyone else received an email from their Skoda dealer about specially selected deals as a valued customer? It's all very vague without any mention of specific deals. I suspect it's just a ploy to get you sitting in front of a salesman but a new VRS estate could tempt me at the right price

VRS is more exciting to drive but less spec, SEL has a smoother ride, better spec and less exciting. What's more important to you? I think the VRS looks a lot better, I love mine

Hi folks, has anyone had any problems with LED rear number plate lights on their Octavia? I bought a set from Ledperf about 10 months ago which have worked fine. Tonight however I've got a bulb warning appearing on the dash despite all the bulbs working.
Has anyone had a similar experience? I suspect it's the resistor in the LEDS has given up and throwing up the fault

Managed to sort it, I'd also left the file in the original folder. Now the SD card is in and updating the software

I've tried this update on my Columbus and I've got the same message as andy361. The SD card looks to be exactly the same setup as you've shown andyvee and formatted in fat32. Very puzzled!

I can't do tomorrow night but I could do Thursday night if that suits?

Im also interested, if they are the correct size for my vrs. I can pay the full asking price and collect them, I am currently in Perth

I also bought the ledperf LEDs and they're working fine after a couple of months
Octavia VRS 126k miles...?
in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)

Hi mate, I previously owned a very early mk3 2013 VRS estate, it had the Pictoris wheels. They were definitely 18”, I quite liked them as they were different to all the Gemini wheels. The car won’t have sat nav or cruise control as standard, they were options. It did have rear parking sensors as standard.
