  1. 2013 octavia vrs with cupa engine 55k miles Car seems to me doing a lot of 1000 rpm static regenerations even after ive driven the car on the motorways. I do some town work but this issue does seem to be getting more common. Scanning car shows no fault codes and soot mass calculated is 18g grams and i think the oil ash mass was about 23g but id need to recheck that if anyone knows what a heathy limit should be. Was going to look at back probing the pressure sensor to see what voltage values and also read the psi pressure at the sensor but after i peeled the heat cover off i noticed straight away it only has 1 pipe connected to it from the DPF? Am i missing something here??
  2. Ha cool I'm not the best with online files and getting them and downloading them etc. Can you possibly supply a link and I can give that to my son as he better at this. Many thanks in advance
  3. Does a hard copy of a technical manual exist for my 2014 octavia vrs diesel engine code cupa. Want to look at some live data and compare values as I have a light throttle misfire that's bugging me and also need to know component locations and how to replace them. Also I have it then for other faults should they occur in future.
  4. i think the top photo was what you see if you select any of those tabs in that picture. Not with car now as gone work. So assuming its not the latest version then how do i get hold of a copy to update the unit. Must be said that it does only seem to play up mostly when the cars screen is cold and been standing overnight as it seems to sort itself out once i done a few miles with the heater on.
  5. Ive got tools to remove head unit. When you say screen is faulty you mean the whole head unit has had it or the screen is removable from this? And a replacement 2nd hand head unit is plug and play and not coded to the car?. Where do I look for the software version I am currently running? Many thanks so far for your advice
  6. Got a fault with my 2013 version bolero head unit. Screen changes radio channel by itself and also when cold doesn't respond to touch sometimes. Before I condem the whole unit I need to check if this is the current software version and if not can someone point me in right direction to get it. Thanks
  7. So where is sensor 3 as its clearly only has 2 exhaust temperature sensors on the car. i can see the one near the turbo from the top.
  8. With...and thats why its important to use the right grade antifreeze
  9. If your car is saying the coolant level is low and it clearly isnt it could be because of this. Its a common fault and ive changed loads of them. The sensors rods cake up so cant sense the fluid level by completing a circuit through the coolant. The revised sensor in the expansion tank has a different design as seen in the photos. Also you will see the part number has changed to reflect the upgrade. Hope this helps anyone doing a search and a very easy fix. Main dealer expansion tanks are relatively cheap as well.
  10. this is a link to a quick video of engine idling showing the smoke thats fed into the intake system https://photos.app.goo.gl/D27jZq1PxmvQsSz56 Do you think this is excessive as it also causes smoke misting around the dipstick area
  11. 2013 diesel cupa engine code (I think). I've noticed on long runs the engine is breathing heavy and I have oil misting around the dipstick area. Took the breather pipe off the top off the rocker cover to the intake pipe and its blowing out on idle quite a lot. Cars been looked after correctly all its life and done only 50k. No other problems and drives perfect. Is there a separate crankcase breather system on this engine and if so where is it ? Regards
  12. I have a VW technician in Canada who I was talking to about this issue. Never heard of it done one or even seen the pump design when I sent him those photos I posted on here. Said must be a reason for designing it in but over engineered. Must be a European thing. I have noticed though with this current cold weather the engine doesn't seem toheat up any quicker with its new pump unlike in the summer mornings.
  13. Skoda fitted mine agaes ago and never played up again. I believe you can order the plastic parts from Skoda or use a breaker as there are quite a few of these cars there now smashed up
  14. Booked it in at any local garage that's any good. I changed mine myself and even with buying a really good quality timing set and genuine skoda parts I save a load of dosh. Quite simple to do if your mechanical minded. Aurodata has simple instructions on how to do it as well
