Any Google Nest/Hive Thermostat Users?
Btw I believe Hive can do 240V (mine) and low voltage switching which is something that many systems can't.

Any Google Nest/Hive Thermostat Users?
This below is for Hive not Nest My receiver/hub lives next to my router (it's plugged into it and lives on the floor under my PC desk-I figured it would be best chance for a stronger signal in my cluttered office space) and the original thermostat is replaced with a thick cover which houses the switching relay for the 'call for heat'. It's not exactly flush to the wall but is about half the depth of the original Thermostat (I had a Drayton stylee one which looked like a robot cyclops - Or a Mr Kiplings French Fancy cakelette-if you know what I mean). With my boiler I simply leave it switched on 24/7 and the timer operation is done online with Hive or through the phone app. It avoids having to wire out the boiler timer which is a little bit more complicated than the way I did it. The actual thermostat is placed where ever I want it. I only have the heating version as my hot water is done by the combi boiler. For ease of installation with my boiler Hive was super easy. Simply remove front of Therm, add a live link, plug new switching plate onto backplate (same size and fitting ), plug in receiver/hub to router and put batteries into thermostat....done! Just a bit of online fettling to set the timers and add devices after that. If I had to do it again, now that I know what to do, it would take much longer to unpack the bits than to install the physical side of the system There is a remote Hub you can get that works with a battery back-up to keep everything working if you have a router/Interweb failure and can also alert you to things like breaking glass etc but I believe you still need the small flat receiver/hub connected to your router initially or to be able to remote access things like lights.

So I went and bought a Jaaaag
Having read a few UK reviews on the base 4 series model, it looks like the size is considered to be a bit of an issue. In particular the very long doors coupled with the girth of the car. It's a problem I have with my F82 model, so I imagine the M4 (G82) will be even worse PLEASE don't post reviews of the standard car in here (you know who you are) as the G82 is a very different car to the G22 and there are a huge amount of reviews on the base model, which would swamp this thread if we start to post them. We can all simply post a link that we can't be arsed to read in the first place and make sensible comment on.

New Wheeler Dealers - life without Ed and Ant!
This thread needs a re-title. Life without Ed and Ant should be added :( Looks like the show is coming back to the UK but Ant is staying in the USA Elvis, (who does the Dream Car thing with Mike Brewer) is taking over form Ant and I find him a bit dour to be honest. Ant is much more fun (and very easy on the eye ) Also it's amazing to see him working with a rotten body (a sort of super-Mr Motivator with a spanner - see what I did there).

Polo and Golf, Fiesta and Focus :( The exception seems to be chocolate, which is definitely becoming smaller!

Actually something I hope a website like CarWow will do, is a drag race between the old M4 and the new M4. Obviously the standing start will be a forgone conclusion, but the acceleration test they do from 50mph might show the old car as being a tad quicker. I'm only basing this on the fact that the new car is a bit of a porker and will also lose a tiny bit of acceleration as it's a slush-matic rather than a DCT Maybe the next M2 is the real successor. RWD, a bit lighter and hopefully with M4 bits on it. Oh and keep the cost down, you'd have to be mad to buy the current M2 CS, it's ridiculously expensive and not worth the hike over the regular CP version. Basically it's an M4 shoehorned into a shorter wheelbase and with a low rent interior. In fact, you could probably have got the (now discontinued) M4CS for similar money to the M2CS in the real world and I certainly wouldn't swap down to the M2 for that one. So can I have (please) a next gen M2 with 450+bhp, DCT and weighing no more than 1,600kg (preferable less, but that's as likely as Jeremy Corbyn opening a bagel shop)

If I could change one thing about the 4 series look, I'd do something about the rear 3/4 as to my eyes it looks a bit frumpy, not as elegant as something that long should be imho

I've looked at the photoshop modified front ends and I can honestly say if I had the new model I would not change that front now. I genuinely like it. From some angles it appears to be almost raked back like the sharknose fronts of yore. I would change the weight and size if I could though. It's a bit of a lump and I expect it will handle more like the Audi RS4 than the C63 :( Fingers crossed they don't turn the next M2 into a supertanker too

Ideas what to do, stick or switch
Thats a good idea if you are in a small garage too I once bumped my Octy tailgate in an underground carpark as it had a super low roof beam just above my car. I imagine a goliath like the RR could be a double problem

This is because you are not used to having a car with this feature. I know it frightens me when I hear that clicking noise in my Hyundai
