  1. Further to my previous post had a call from Rainworth Skoda today to arrange collection of my vrs IV estate for next saturday. and just to add i didnt get alot of updates along the way, had a provisional build week of 44 but never got confirmed, never got any other update email or call until i was told it was built and at port for shipping. So i think on the update side its alot to do with the dealer and their chasing of the order.

Hope everyones cars start getting moved along quicker now.

  2. As my new vrs iv estate will be here soon I’m looking to order a boot liner as I will occasionally have the dog in the car, looking in the usual spots eBay etc, and I’m only finding the iv  from Germany and it’s around £70 compared to the regular estate being less than half the price,

has anyone found any decent options similar pricing to the non hybrid models?

    cheers

MY22 spec is captured in the latest downloadable brochure. They dropped some colours, changed some wheel options and made a couple of minor spec changes from the MY21 model.

Biggest change for me (VRS) was removal of meteor grey, making all standard metallic colours FoC and adding virtual pedal to standard spec.

Hope that this is added to the cars that have been delayed by these parts shortages. I ordered july 12th and have just yesterday been given a week 44 build date, was originally quoted estimate october delivery when i ordered, not too bothered about waiting as this is the first new car ive ever bought to my own spec. Always settled for nearly new and used in the past and had to settle for less spec then i wanted. hopefully the niggling issues in the early cars might have fixes worked out by then too.

  4. Thanks guys, I am leaning towards to 2.0 TSI DSG the more i look into it, the real world mpgs seem fantastic especially with the 245bhp at your toes. (i know the hybrid is the same but the weight gain and space loss concerns me a little)

So unless dealer changes my mind it looks as if ill be going hyper green 2.0 tsi dsg with front winter pack, towbar prep, maybe one or two other options as much as id love a pan roof just think ill pass i seen a fair few issues with the mk3 roof and dont want the hassle even if it will be covered by warranty.

Cheers again and any other opinions all welcome.

  5. Hi all been in the superb group for the last 18 months or so but im coming back and about to commit to a order for a brand new VRS estate, im torn between engines though, I know most say it depends how much you drive etc, my driving varies year to year some years i can do sub 10k and others closer to 20k.

Also thinking about residuals as im going down the PCP route, are the petrol and diesel options going to suffer with the proposed bans coming? and then is the Hybrid a good enough option to even go for? i use the full space of the car alot picking bulky stuff up etc and car parts.

Im currently owner of a mk2 vrs tfsi which i will sell on if i go down the petrol route and prob buy a diesel work horse for my tools etc, also have a superb sportline 150tdi

    All opinions welcome thanks

  6. Got myself a stupidly cheap 2006 VRS TFSI today, my daily is a mk3 superb sportline so im usually in that section of the forum however I was previously quite active on here with my old ex police pre fl tdi 140 which i had painted rallye green and turned into a VRS rep.

Car is on 134k and has extensive history, is Race blue (sadly not a fan) has a towbar which will be getting removed (shame it wont fit my superb).

Now my new to me VRS it was bought on the pretense that previous owner believed head gasket had failed which atm i do not believe to be the case, i think its simply been used for a lot of short commutes as theres no loss of coolant, and no excess pressure in the coolant only your typical sludge from condensation under the cap, so firstly i will give it a major service and cambelt kit for piece of mind. Then i will begin tinkering with as much as i can, upgraded radio maxidot clocks, cruise control etc etc try and improve the specification a bit before i go to town on engine mods and a full respray.

Can anyone tell me the part number i need for the maxidot upgrade? ive spotted a few petrol clusters with it but im unsure whether a facelift set of clocks can be fitted to a pre facelift?

    Thanks

  7. Only fault code i now have in the 5f module is:

    1 Fault Found:
    15360768 - Component Protection
              U1101 00 [009] - Active
[New feature! Extended UDS fault detail is only supported by current gen. interfaces]
Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear
                 Freeze Frame:
                        Fault Status: 00000001
                        Fault Priority: 4
                        Fault Frequency: 1
                        Reset counter: 159
                        Mileage: 132032 km
                        Date: 2021.01.05
                        Time: 21:38:09

                        Voltage terminal 30: 12.6 V

I can only assume that this is because the component protection has been removed and if so i can live with that.

All done for a lot less than the retrofit companies are quoting so very happy.

  8. Hi all,

Just an update, after now reverting to long code to my original MIB2 the audio is all working, but just out of curiosity the resolution of the screen seems to of changed, can anyone confirm which channel map i should be looking at for this, nothing is jumping out at me, unless im just being dumb and it hasnt changed at all. Just all menus etc just seem to be larger than when i first installed it.

    Dan

  9. Bought a large screen MIB 2.5 used but in excellent condition with CP removed. was an absolute steal considering what the retrofit companies were quoting. I fitted it as soon as it arrived as i am impatient and an optimist so hoped it would work straight away alas, not all functions do the nav is fine, however i have no sound or access to audio settings i get an error stating settings will be available at end of call or after finishing parking.

So the conclusion is its a coding and adaptation issue. I have had a little advice over on the social version of briskoda just hoping more of the techies are on here. I have VCDS on the way so am planning on attacking and solving this myself.

Now my cars spec isnt huge, its a 2017 sportline with standard audio system only rear parking sensors can anyone offer any adaptation or coding advice on what options to select when i change the coding or am i better off refitting my original setup and copy and pasting in the long code from that then working my way systematically through the adaptation menu?

    Thanks all

They are defo 312. I have a mapped sportline 4x4 diesel and I changed front discs and callipers from 312mm for the 340mm set up and I use Zimmerman sport coated discs and brembo x pads... if you want standard or a little upgrade Just go for brembo or Zimmerman discs. Either brembo Coated (standard) or brembo xtra. Or Zimmerman sport coated.  They are drilled though. Brembo do a standard pad and a mild fast rd pad called a brembo xtra.

brembo also do a max disc which is grooved.
personally I wouldn’t bother with Pagid. They seem very hit and miss. They were very Noisy  when I had them but some folks like them.
their fast rd and track stuff is superb but the standard ecp stuff is shoite

When you say you changed them for the larger set up did you require carriers for the bigger discs? I would assume to change the rears for vented it would be a must but unsure on the fronts.

  11. My pads on my 2017 sportline TDI (150) are getting low so looking at the options for replacements, just wanting clarification before I order on the size differences. Ive found there are two options for both front and rear. Would I be right to assume this is based on the power output of the car? ie, 340mm front and 310mm rear for the 190bhp model and the smaller 312mm front and 300 rear for the 150? and if so what are the physical differences in the brake setup? are the front calipers different or is it just the carrier?

    Thanks for any input

  12. I've done a dozen or so of these across the VAG range, there's a master timing tool set you can buy off eBay for around £35 comes in very handy. Just take your time and be methodical. I've Found sometimes getting the top timing belt cover off can be tricky due to one of the brackets for DPF sensors but just bare with it. If you want to ask anything specific feel free to drop me a PM.

  13. Yes I have been speaking to VAG retrofit about it, I'm aware that I need the unit in the glovebox due to the screen resolution not being correct for the buttonless screen. As I am a bargain hunter I'm gonna go down the route of sourcing the parts myself hopefully do it for less than the quoted £900.

    Thanks for the input.

  14. Hi all been a while since I posted on here, got myself into a 2017 sportline estate and it has the basic Columbus unit, looking to just upgrade the screen with a 8" touchscreen version as it will improve the interior aesthetics, from research I believe as im just changing the screen there shouldn't be any component protection issues, but im wondering if it is as straightforward as removing one and fitting the other, or is there a different surround or bezel that needs to be fitted also?

  15. As title states, my 2014 superb 2.0 CR TDI 140 is currently on 61000, I took it for a 300 mile round trip to Scotland today to collect some parts for a job, all fine on way there apart from a ever so slight hesitation when accelerating ( had this on and off since buying it though), then as i was setting off home, instantly got eml and coil light flashing, not limp mode though, ran fine, little slower than usual on full throttle.

Nursed it home and done a VCDS scan, got two faults, relating to throttle motor, one indicating stuck open and other stuck closed. Assuming it may be dirty i removed the motor however it wasnt overly bad nothing compared to what ive removed from PD motors, i gave it a good clean and refitted, cleared codes, however fault persists. At this point i'm assuming it is in fact a failed component, unless any of you guys have experienced similar and have any advice?

    Thanks in advance

  16. Don't have any of those codes on my data sticker, i know on the older pd140 they had 288 standard, not sure if this carried over to the superb or whether they put the 312mm on with it being a larger car, guess ill have to whip a wheel off and get the tape measure out,

  17. I have 1KJ rear brakes which means (i think) that i have 286mm solid rear discs, anything to lookout for on my product codes for front brakes? or are they the same across the engines? only one i see listed on that catalogue are 340mm vented fronts which seem a little large for a 2.0 tdi
