  1. Thanks guys. I have just looked at TX Autosport, but I think they are a bit deep. I bought a universal one that is approx 690mm x 300mmx 65mm and my mechanic can't get it to fit in, because of the air con unit. Think I will have to go down the route of a Seat FMIC, as it seems to be thinner

  2. Hi,

My VRS passed its MOT on Monday, with the following advisory

'Both lower arms, rear bushes have a slight detoriation and play'

I assume he means the wishbone/lower control arm?? The tester stated that it was a two piece bush and there was a mod with a solid bush. Can anyone confirm which one it will be and where do I order a modified replacement. He also stated that it was begining to wear the tyre slightly too

    Thanks

  3. Hi,

Posted a question in the tech section, but thought I would ask here too.

I bought my VRS back in August last year and the passenger side window switch didn't work, but the drivers side did operate the window. However the drivers side switches have now failed and neither front windows open. The fuses appear okay and I bought a complete window switch and fitted that, Unfortunately, that has not resolved the problem. All the central locking works and the door lock switch still works on the window panel. Any ideas please?????

  4. Hi All,

I posted a question on the ask a tech, but no one has replied, so thought I would try here.

I have a 2007 Fabia VRS Mk1 BLT engine code. I bought the car in August with a faulty n/s window switch. The controls on the offside worked both windows fine. However over the last couple of weeks, the o/s swiches worked intermitantly and now don't work at all. There is power to and from the fuses etc. What I want to know, is (a) is this a common fault, (B) is likely to be just the switches, © is there a control ECU somewhere; if so where, (d) how much would a garage charge roughly for a plug diagnosis.

    Thank you in advance

    Ross

  5. Hi All,

This may have been covered before; but as a new member, I thought I would ask

I did the EGR conversion on Friday and fitted the 9mm gasket. Smooth running was a lot better. I drove to Bradford today and the engine management light came on; on the way home. I assume that it will have something to do with me fiddling with the EGR. Before I get ripped off at a garage, if the plug in system reads an error code message for the EGR, can the sensor be fooled into thinking that all is well, with the new gasket.

    thanks
