No not a fridgie, did not do it myself, done at local vag independent. Given a link, searched airconparts .co.uk caps only 40 odd pence but £5 p&p.

Renewed a.c. compressor, evacuated and re-charged gas, caps were missing beforehand, quoted £4.35 each for high and low pressure caps, sounded expensive to me, so trying to find out the size so I can buy off e-bay, they look like push on fit, not screw fit and can come in 3 different sizes.

Does anybody know the make of the air con service valves on a '09 VRS Tdi, and what size caps I would need for the high and low ports.

Check fault codes and compressor shut off code would be the first step. If you don't have VCDS then look on the map for someone local who does

It has been regased, still not cold. It is a  59-2009 model it has no econ button on climatic control ,it has Auto, AC, Dual and Off buttons, dual dial temp controls with push button heated front seats set in dials.

Octy VRS 59 plate, Air con seems to be working fine but no cold air, compressor centre spindle does spin but I did not hear the fans come on today, checked and they do not come on when pressing the Auto Button.  The self diagnostic everyone mentions says to press econ button with aircon ,I don,t have an econ button on my version can I do something else. Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.

Scan revealed faulty sensor on rear wheel this was changed but warning light still failed to go out, Skoda then went looking for wiring fault,  eventually traced to main loom where a broken wire was found, very expensive fix as this took some time. Is it normal for wires to break in the main loom or can they heat up and snap ?.

I have just bought a new battery, do you need to plug in auxilliary power to save radio, maxidot settings etc. or are the settings saved when I swap them over.

Lights did not go off at all today, will definitely get a scan done next.

ESP/ABS and Tyre warning light  comes on every morning on my 09 VRS and then goes off after approx 10mins, stays off rest of the day, even after being on stop approx. 4 hrs then it comes back  on next morning, this has happened over last 5 days. Any help on this matter would be gratefull.

Car runs the same as it did before light came on, no loss of power or anything, will get it checked though.

[Thinking of an Octavian vRS]

As title suggests I am thinking of buying a diesel vRS Octavia estate around 3 years old.

Are there any known issues or problems I should specifically look out for when viewing potential cars.

Also is it relatively easy to retrofit the factory satnav, and one last thing was a multiple function steering wheel ever an option as I have seen a lot of photos on autotrader etc and none appear to have this.

Just bought a 59 plate Diesel VRS Octavia Est DSG in Race Blue with the full leather trim, hope you will be as pleased as I am when you get one, people keep commenting on the colour though.
