  1. I was driving along recently on the M5 and all 4 windows just dropped dwon completely. Last week the rear passanger side windwo dropped halfway. Garage said they cant help as its too far back to look on the computer. Mind you that is just typical of this garage. also I keep finding my car unlocked. Icswear I'm not going mad I do lock it and wonder if anyone eslse has had this happen?
  2. I will never be taking my car to this place again for any type of work. Our cars are generally the next most expensive thing we own to our homes and my car is no exception. After a fairly minor looking but expensive accident I took my car here to be repaired thinking that taking it to a main skoda dealer was the best course of action. How wrong I could have been. Car took 2 weeks of hanging about before work commenced and although a courtesy car was offered it took 4 weeks to appear and was wanted back after a week. I picked the car up on saturday morning as was told it was ready and couldnt believe what I saw. Ok bodywork repair was fine but there were 9 faults with the car including scratches to all the parts removed for the repair. Car was filthy covered in white dust over the whole of the interior and there was welding spark damage to the door mirror. The spare wheel polystyrene surround had been pulled out without unscrewing it so it was broken and the fillercap strap fixing had been broken off and a screw placed elsewhere in the cap to attach the strap to so it wouldnt stretch to rest on the door flap. The drivers side back door needs to be slammed to shut now. My car went into them in near perfect condition and came out like this. UNBELIEVABLE Its now 18 weeks since the accident and I am still waiting for my car repair to be finished Complained about it and it was fixed all barr the fuel flap but not impressed at the person fixing it as he brought it round after and just dumped it with keys in in the middle of the garage entrance. If a car had come in quickly it could have run into it. 15 weeks later I was still waiting for the filler cap repair which I was told was on back order then was told it would be in after the weekend. 10 days later nothing so rang Skoda customer services and they are now dealing with it but promised me that the garage would contact me by the end of the week-that was 10 days ago and I've had to call them again. Its disgusting. Also had problems with fitting the towbar -took it to same garage then and it took a week to fit it then they handed the car back and didnt give me the 13-7 pin adaptor. Had to go back and ask for it. I will NEVER use this garage again but what worries me is that the company that own this garage own most of the dealerships in the area. My parner uses Turners at Earlestoke and cant fault them so it would seem a 1 1/2 hour journey each way for servicing/repairs may well be worth it.
  3. My partner has always used this garage since buying his VRS 8 years ago and cant fault them. My only complaint is they are in the back end of nowhere with poor bus connections. However with all the problem I have had with my Yeti after a bodywork repair at our local Skoda garage who seem to own all the Skoda Dealerships in the area I will be taking my Yeti there in the future as the long drive and wait for repairs far outweighs the grief , phonecalls and stress of the last 18weeks trying to get our local Skoda garage to repair the extra damage they did to my vehicle whilst in their bodyshop. I will wait and see what the service is with Turners when my car next needs a service. It cannot possibly be any worse than what I am dealing with at present.
  4. Hi there Actually the dealer is just outside of Bristol towards Nailsea. I've lost faith in them and will now take my car for servicing over to near Warminster where my partner bought his from. They have been really good to him. I just couldn't be bothered with the drive but if it means I get the car back quickly it will be worth it. Anyhow I just hitched up the caravan and trailer today. Towed the trailer fine but correct me if wrong there appeared to be no indication anywhere that a trailer was attached apart from on the screen when in reverse. No warning buzzers when indicating etc. Should I have this to remind me I'm attached to the trailer? My old car did and so does my dad's fiesta. To be fair its not easy to forget you have a caravan attached but a trailer is a different matter as it's a bit smaller. Can't find anything in the handbook. Cheers Happily towing Gillian and Betty the Yeti
  5. I eventually picked my Yeti up after 7 days in the garage and over 30 hours labour (the 24 hours extra cvered by the garage) They had problems reprogramming it, had ordered the wrong wiring loom etc etc. Turns out the towbar is a Westafalia. When I checked it I found that I had the new 13 pin electric socket which is not what I expected and when I grumbled that I would have to buy an adaptor to convert my caravan and trailer they suddenly appeared with the adaptor that they had "forgotten to give me". So having lost my car for 7 days with no courtesy car, been fobbed off several times and ended up with a bill for £1028 for the towbar spare wheel and some oil I was right hacked off. Now having been away with the car on holiday the touch screen stopped working and then started again, the lights left on buzzer isnt working and the garage tell me they need to have the car for a whole day for a one hour software download to srt it out. I'm beginning to wish I'd kept my Ibiza FR-it might have been 6 years old but I have never had any faults with it. Sad and dejected Yeti owner

    More towbar

Well my towbar saga continues into its 6th day. They can't seem to code the car now. Apparently when they tried coding it it messed up the radio and switched something else off and they cant seem to get it right. Me thinks they have no idea what they are doing. I only hope they dont cause a major electrical breakdown or the car ends up going seriously wrong. One very hacked off Yeti owner Gillian

    More towbar

Hi there You may have seen my postings on the other towbar thread but my yeti is being fitted with Skoda genuine towbar and electrics by my local dealer. It will have the ability to switch off the reversing sensors and work as a factory fit one does but it has run into nightmare electrical fitting problems. The electrics vary depending on if you have towbar prep and if you need double electrics and my dealers tech having not fitted one before ended up with wrong wiring loom from Skoda then Skoda sent wrong wiring instructions. Given that they have have spent 20 hours fitting it, it may well be that the original electrics on your yeti were scotchlocked in to fit it quickly. I,like you are disappointed with my Skoda experience so far and wonder what will happen if something goes badly wrong with the car. I am told that my towbar should work as expected showing the caravan attached etc. If it doesnt then it will go back until sorted. The dealers have already said they are having to swallow the hours in lost time in order to do the job correctly. Bet they wont want to do another one.
  9. We are now 5 days and 20 hours labour down the line and still my towbar is not fitted. Turns out they havent fitted one before and now they have had the wrong wiring instructions from Skoda. Has anyone else had problems with taking so long fitting a towbar? They think it might be finished by Thursday
  10. No sign of my car back from the garage. Techie is off sick and no one else will touch it. So far 4 days in there and no guarentee it will be done by friday. I'm hacked off
  11. I agreed a £700 fixed cost for a Skoda Dealers fitting a genuine fixed towbar as I need twin electrics and have no towbar prep. So far the garage have had the car a day and a half and reckon it wont be finished till tomorrow night so its taken them 20 hours to fit it. Glad I'm not paying by the hour and me thinks they've not fitted a Yeti Towbar before. God knows what state the car will be in when I get it back.
  12. I've only had my Yeti a week and I am really impressed at the price. Just under £16k for a 3 month old ex demo 110 BHP SE. I've seen 12 month old 10 plates for £18500-just depends how lucky you get. I spotted mine online and dropped a deposit on it before a 320 mile round trip to test drive and again to collect 6 weeks later. Also getting 60 mpg out of it so one happy yeti owner.
  13. Hi I wanted a yellow yeti but as per the norm they dont come in yellow.Car colours are so predictable and dull. My last 2 cars were yellow-wahoo!! Loved every moment of them and never got pulled by a copper. Now I'm boring and blending in with 90% of cars on the road in boring silver. Damn nuisance as I now have to waste time looking for my car in the carpark. Gillian
  14. Hi Everyone Thanks for all the replies. I have at last spoke to someone at the dealers who appears to know what he's talking about. No switch for the reserving sensors, a fixed double swan neck being fitted week friday and the electrics reprogrammed. He did say that a few Octavia's have had a problem with the sensors and towbars but not has a yeti issue so far. So £700 later hopefully all will be well. Betty the Yeti is behaving herself and sadly now so am I. Not used to have a taller car with higher point of gravity and cant chuck her full throttle round bends like my FR Ibiza. Decided its going to be the 170 4x4 next time to aid some serious rubber burn and overtaking. Need something with a bit more poke.Otherwise I'm quite liking but not loving the car. The engine is much smoother but oh do I miss the 6th gear. Hopefully the towing ability will improve my feelings about her. One thing I do like is that we are a rare breed at the mo Cheers Gillian
  15. Hi All Does anyone have a skoda fixed towbar and reversing sensors? At last I picked up my Yeti on Saturday and have arranged for a towbar to be fitted. A Skoda fixed towbar with swan neck for Alko-towhitch. Now someone at the the dealers tells me I need a switch to turn off the reversing sensors as the fixed towbar will confuse them. He says that I can never use the sensors with a fixed bar.I was told initially that it was just to stop the sensors going off when reversing the caravan-so what is the actual reason for the switch? Frankly I am so hacked off with the conflicting information and that Skoda dealers don't seem to know what the hell they are talking about. Firstly I was told that they didnt do a fixed towbar then told they do. They tell me an aftermarket one fitted by themselves will invalidate my warranty. They know they have to alter the computer to recognise the caravan but I now see on the forum here that it has to be adjusted for stability control as well as other things. They havent mentioned this one to me. One pretty happy but confused Betty the Yeti owner
