  1. Hi all My new job requires i have business use on my car, my renewal is due in a few weeks so ive done a few quotes and it has put my insurance up by at least £200 compared to social and commuting to a single place of work. Is it possible the company i work for would pay for this? I cannot believe its so much extra!
  2. Hi all Currently in my home we have a German Shepherd (male) and Patterdale X Collie (female) they get along like Mr & Mrs and both will not go anywhere without the other Only thing is ive been offered a Poodle puppy. I personally love poodles, was never really a fan till I started dog grooming ad my eyes have been opened to different breeds, the poodle being one that I really enjoyed being around. I really want to take the little doggie home but I fear its going to break the bond of the other two and or they will hate each other. hoping with it been a puppy it will fall behind alpha (GSD) and not challenge him and when he has been accepted they will all get along. I once adopted a Husky (female, around 1 year) and my GSD never accepted her, they fought and it caused hell. it put the GSd off this food and he became slightly down, I don't want this to happen. Anyone got any advice or experienced introducing a new dog to two others?
  3. As far as im aware ones with just car manufactures exhibiting new cars only happens once or twice a year, obviously Geneva Motor Show stuff like that. Theres heeps of VW shows and other specific make shows http://carcal.co.uk/
  4. 'Original engine' does that just class it as the original block with a completely rebuilt engine around it?! If it is genuine and only ever have a recon gearbox then that is pretty amazing The most ive ever known is VW Sharon taxi (which to my knowledge is still going) on 800,000
  5. 30 day shred...argh the pain! Ive never been one for fitness DVD's and tbh i dont think most of them work but this hits you in all the right places and Jillian Michaels is brilliant, keeps you motivated and somehow keeps you sucked in. I sweated and hurt more doing 20 mins of level one then i ever have doing any other form of exercise!
  6. To be brutally honest I've had a slow puncture twice but yes both times it has instantly affected the cars handling and I've been able to notice without physically seeing the offending tyre. Whenever i did change the tyres, this was more often the case of when i swapped wheels, going from winters to standard zeniths onto my after market alloys (which i did a lot of!) it would tell me the pressure had changed about 15 mile down the road, which yes would frighten the hell out of me ha! I dont remember the tyre size on the i3 but surely a tad big for something that is no bigger then my Clio plus they were not what you call 50p tyres, looked like a good 165's Friend of a friend has just bought one, as right now it made complete sense. He got the free charging points installed in his house and at work (part of the incentive i think) and reclaimed so much of the RRP back from the government so i think over 3 years its costing him in total for buying and running something like £5,000. Ive never really had a problem in identifying a cars make, model and 9/10 the trim level but when i was walking round the BMW showroom i was finding myself having to look at the advertisement boards as they do that many variants now and they all bloody well look the same!
  7. My dear i have had slow punctures before, instantly and easily recognisable as the car sways like a boat. My Octy had pressure indicator which i never really benefited the use of, it liked to remind me that i had recently changed my tyres and at the same time give me heart failure with a bong and yellow light I went to a local BMW dealership the other day as partner is craving to see the new M3. It was just awash of dullness and mundane looking shells. The only thing that did take my attention was the i3 thing. Never liked electric cars but i though this was the best looking yet..despite it boasted 19inch alloy wheels..isnt the whole point of the Eco car is the have the least amount of rolling resistant?
  8. The fact BMW feel the need to have a warning come on the screen is wrong..its pretty hard to ignore a puncture! BM's have the better finances deals now so i think the cocks have returned to the homeland
  9. Ive been running outside since day one, tbh you dont really judge. Ive always had a good running posture and speed as i used to run alot when i was younger. I saw a chap the other day dressed head to toe in black, cotton t-shirt and black shell suit tracky bottoms, it was about 15 degree's so it must of been so unpleasant for him. I run like a lot of beginners do with intervals of walking and running, even on my walking intervals i was catching him up, i didt think he is an idiot i wanted to stop him and give him advise on how to improve his running but it wasnt my place to say. As far as chocolate and rubbish foods go, dont ban them just cut them down. Ive had this discussion time again with my mother, she was a real chocolate fiend then get upset when she had gained weight, ban it then binge. We are human and we enjoy our weakness, i personally love KFC but i have my 'cheat' days which i dont feel bad about as ive earned them and a little of what you like does you good!
  10. The 30 day shed is a programme you do once a day lasting 30 mins for 30days. Its high intensity circuit training, mix of cardio and strength training. As far as running goes i loveit, although agreed with above i could't do it without music and footwear is paramount to avoiding injury. When i first had a stab at running i bought some cheapo trainers which although were better then running barefoot that was about it. The trainers i have now were not mega expensive, £35 and i love them, they fit me perfectly and do what i want them to do. Sure i could blow loads more lighter and more cushioned trainers but up to now i have no injured myself and im happy. Try the C25k challenge, you might just surprise yourself..i did!
  11. Unless your geography is that poor or you have looked where i am located its Whitby, which is pretty much in the middle of sticks so dont class me as a townie Not all dogs need attention of a groomer but when you have something like a Cocker spaniel, Bichon Frise ect not going to the groomer isnt really an option unless you have want to learn professional grooming at home so its not for brain washer townies, there are breeds out there that require the attention of a professional Same could be said for pretty much all professions serving the public, car servicing and repair, hair dressers, window cleaners, gardeners ect ect these are all things if you learnt you could do yourself but theres no shame in having the job done by a professional.
  12. Having chewed it over for a few weeks im not wanting to spend £30 on getting fit, just do it at home! Sister has given the '30 day shred' sounds a bit gimmicky but she swore by it to shift the pounds, she now does martial arts so does not need it. Ill try it and see what the crack is, everyone raves about it..i now have a new goal, Ibiza in a month!
  13. Its mainly intended for customers who wish to enjoy the spa, knowing their dog isnt ripping up the interior of the hotel! ha Ive always been fortunate in the fact my mother looks after my dogs when im away although it would be lovely to take them, all hotels ive been to have never been doggy friendly..why not..he's only an 8 stone long haired German Shepherd who doesnt like strangers..whatever could be the problem?!
  14. Briskoda people have to be positively 100% the nicest bunch i have ever known/spoken to on a forum ha! I dont expect to get a huge response but something is better then nothing
