Right so after around 18months of the Fabia VRS, spending £££s on it! Including Eibach 30mm springs, s3 front brakes, octy rear brakes, black spiders with 4 new pirelli p zero tyres, full polybush kit all around!, darkside egr delete, backbox chop, amd remap, s2000 filter and mauch more ive prob forgot... Ive now got my delivery date for my Limestone Grey Golf R as 1 August! But im having a hard time coming to terms of selling the Fabia, been a loyal hardoworking friend and for a 55 plate is still low millaege at 96k with full history!
So im wondering do i keep both or sell the Fabia :S
Any advice welcome and also if anyone knows what my fabia would retail at
Thanks

Right after spending a constant 3 hours on it this afternoon, must have fitted and refitted the coolant pipes about 20times! On the last time before i would have gave up! Managed to get the pipes in, no leak!! Bled the system, filled the reservoir a few times, took for a 250 mile erm spirited drive and still no leaks and coolant pipes are bone dry! So im going home a happy chappie!

Still no change :S maybe the actual heater matrix?
Anyone know how to remove one?
-
Hi everyone
To a point where im considering lighting a match to the car!
So coolant kept going at a alarming rate (Max to min in about 1mile!!)
Whipped the engine cover off and seen the dreaded heater matrix pipes were snapped and bracket broke
So got to TPS put on new pipes, bracket and 2 lovely o seals!
Started it ran it 45mins thought jobs a good un' oh no no no, took it for a drive and same thing! Still leaking around the bolts
Right so in the rain tonight managed to get the pipes off and re fit the seals, a few trys later its still weeping from there, albeit a bit less!
Now im wondering if theres a way of putting the seals on?
Ive got some thicker seals which i might try tomorrow, now someone said possible Heater Mateix but cant see no evidence, still get hot air, no leak, no smell and from the bulkhead looks clean and cant feel no corrosion
Any ideas?

Ive had on P Zero Pirelli on Octavia Spiders on my fabia all around brand new, had them on for around 1000miles, spin is much less and all round grip is very good. Excellent in the dry and good in the wet, no edge of seat moments so far and i am surprised at how good they seem to be wearing

Got breakdown with onward traval so if i breakdown a d they cant get me back on track on the side of the road, they will tow me home / garage and give me a car for 3days.
I have used this in the past, they came, saw my camshaft sensor had gone, towed me to my local mechanic and gave me a reference number to use at enterprise. Went to the airport enterprise (whichever is open and closest to you, being late on a sunday airport was the only one open) and drove away in a vauxhall astra for 3days and returned no hassle / quibble. Only thing is you have to make your own way to the car pick up point. This is sll included in my rac premium plan
On the contrary i have had a BMW dealer breakdown and car cover, process was near enough identical bar getting me a brand new 120d msport for 3 days...

Depends on what bits you need mate.
Volksbits on pershore road are good and try the cherrywood industrial estate.
There is a cracking polish owned vag breaker in wednesbury (dont know the name but its on potters lane, think its west midlands vw parts but dont hold me to it)

Hi! Great choice in the 335d xdrive!
A friend of mine bought 1 new with the full m performance kit, with the 20" wheels, and all the carbon bits and it drove lovely! A real motorway cruiser with effortless power!
Being the xdrive it will sit higher, be warned the 335d xdrive without the m performance suspension is mediocre at best handling and suspension doesnt really inspire confidence, so if you can get a testdrive in both and feel how much difference the m performance suspension makes.
Apart from that the ideal all round car with blend of power and economy.
P.S DTUK do a tuning box which makes it stupidly fast and you plug in and out and was not detected by the dealer wheb the car had warranty work done to it

Hi fellow members
Seen a H&R fromt and rear anti roll bar part 33325-3, i can see its listed for a MK2 VRS but a 2013 thread states that it will also fit a MK1 VRS, just wondering if this is the case?
Thanks for any advice in advance
Mp.s it is a 25mm rear anti roll bar and a 20mm front as well, H&R branded

So had a little incident with a flat bed recovery truck, long story short, the guy scraped the front passenger side of my car as well taking out the Foglight Cover on a MK1 VRS
Went on eBay, seen prices from 22.99 to 49.99 just for the Foglight cover.
Phoned my local Skoda Dealer (Wolverhampton) both parts of the grill, 13.00!!!
So if anyone else needs to replace theres, miss out Ebay and go straight to the Dealer!!

Oooh ul prob see me friday evening going up to manchester, il keep an eye out for ya lol

No I have a dmf. I have this kit from darkside. Also running a hybrid pd150
More to think about, to be honest i am leaning towards the CG SMF and Paddle, mainly due to getting 1 that has been used for 5000miles for next to nothing, but im still 50/50 lol
-
That's just put my mind at rest! Thanks as been a bit nervous about this - as i do a 3 hour journey up the M6 in traffic every Friday so was dreading a heavy awkward pedal! [/quote
What part of the M6 buddy? I live just off J9
-
I have got this and find it very easy to drive, light and smooth to engage. A friend can't believe the difference between mine and CG one that he has, for the better. It's expensive but I'd rather buy once and do it properly.
Do you which CG kit he has?

Any type of paddle clutch will be more agressive than a standard plate type.
The bite is more 'on' or 'off' and you have less ability to slip the clutch moving away in traffic etc.
The less amount of paddles makes them more agressive,so don't go for a 4 paddle for a road car,6 paddles are ok though.
Much appreciated, 1 ive been looking at is a 6 paddle with a SMF
-
I have opted for the darkside smf/sachs sre clutch with organic plate, which is being fitted a week saturday, will give you my review of it straight after if that helps.
That be great mate, as thats the 1 ive been looking at
Do i sell the Fabia VRS or keep it as an everyday......

Hmmmm i might just leave it as a community vehicle, i get what you mean for insurance purposes, i guess i can insure it on the old mans name and add me as a driver. I love it too much to get rid of it and yeah like you say for the sake of 2k i may as well keep it lol only problem is i think il find myself driving the fabia more than the golf lol man these new cars kill the sensation of speed
