  1. Just bought my second Yeti a 1.2TSI replacing my 1.6TDI.

I noticed that Service History/Maintenance Books aren't issued with the New Car. (Slightly deviating).  I queried this and these books are no longer issued. Everything is online.

I checked the Skoda website and their view on taking a car to a non-franchised dealer is that if anything goes wrong with work carried out, then you could be in trouble re you warranty.

    Worth considering.

    Hope this helps.

  2. I've found the sat nav really good and glad I specced it.

Door strips - not now it doesn't unless you go for the Outdoor!  Brochure says it comes with body coloured door strips but the web-site says it doesn't, and mine didn't!

Had my Greenline II for 2 years now.  Sat Nav is good, BUT, had a nasty surprise when I thought updates were free for 3 years only to find out they are >£200 a year.  So driving around some recently built roads, I found myself crossing fields.  Some of the speed signs too are outdated now.

Alternative non built in ones are available at half the update price with free life time maps etc.

Saying all that, that YETI is fab in all other respects. Notwithstanding the outcome of the eventual EU5 engine tweak.

  3. I made the grave error of opting for an Amudsen+ in my pre-facelift YETI at a cost then of £535.  I had 3 years warranty with a  3 years service plan. I wrongly presumed that Updates for the Sat Nav would be free of charge for the 3 years. Wrong.  The yearly updates cost around £220.  All in all a very expensive Sat Nav.

I should have saved more than a few quid and stuck with the Tom Tom (Free updates etc).

I complained to Skoda UK, that none of their brochures mentioned the cost or availability of updates. They didn't want to know.

    Just my own experience/opinion.

  4. Got a 1.6 Greenline II Elegance. Should meet your needs.  Be warned, if you don't already know.  Map updates are around £220 a time. Updates I've been told by Skoda are issued on the 31st March.

Car is superb. Heated seats great (for my wife's bad back). Good luck with whatever you decide.

  5. Bought my Yeti Greenline II October 2013.  Opted for Amudsen+ Sat Nav as a factory fitted option. Plus 3 years servicing.

Took my Yeti for its first service and asked for a update for the Sat Nav.  (Nothing mentioned about updates in the Accessories Brochure of Website). I presumed updates would be free and included in the Service.

Service Manager gave me an A4 sheet with instructions on how to download and update for the Sat Nav FREE.  Unfortunately this was for the New Octavia's Amudsen or Columbus.

After a lot of phone calls the Dealer informed me that an update SD card would be IRO £200.  To say I was miffed is an understatement.

The Amudsen+ cost £535. if I'd know updates were going to cost I wouldn't have purchased it in the first instance. I would have bought an off the shelf with Free updates.

I complained to Skoda Customer Services.  The outcome was tough luck.  I've asked them for a refund and to replace the Sat Nav with a Bolero FOC.  I await their decision.

WARNING.  If you're forking out for a Factory Fitted Sat Nav from SKODA beware because UPDATES are expensive.

  6. I bought my Yeti a year ago. Amudsen+. Took it for its first service to the supplying dealer on Tuesday. They didn't know about updates for this version but at present are chasing it up for me.  (Skoda UK referred me back to the Dealer).

The Amudsen+ I bought was a Factory Fitted Option.  I also have a 3 year service plan.  So I will be very p...... if either NO updates are available, or they try to charge me a small fortune for an update on an annual basis.

Saying that everything else has been spot on with the Car and the Dealership.

  7. I've picked up my brand new Yeti Elegance Greenline II today from DM Keith (York) Ltd.

I've had many new cars over the last twenty years, and I must say the service and attention to detail from the York branch has been exemplary.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank  in particular David, Darren and Alan who all went that  extra mile to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

I’d certainly recommend DM Keith Ltd (York) to any Briskoda member.

  8. Mine was originally ordered April delivery due July.  Wrong spec built.  Re-ordered 16 July, being built next week.. Seems like a lot of Yeti's bound for the UK are being built next week.

What I don't understand is Stevie D ordering his 21 July (5 days after me) and hopes to collect it tomorrow. Yet my build date is next week.  Strange.

Good luck and all the best tomorrow when you collect it Stevie D.

Called with a problem on a Sunday. Service Dept called back (as promised) on Monday. Took car in to Royce Roberts this morning (Tuesday) to have a damanged wiring loom replaced.

The attention, explanation of what needed doing, and time taken to carry the job out, meant I was back to normal by lunch time.

Well done and thank you Royce Roberts
