The dowel pins are easy to remove, just clamp the pin in the jaws of a decent vice, then give tne back of the flywheel a sharp blow with a heavy hammer, those dowels are about 70p from the vw dealer.
Great thanks, its not going to be head ache i thought is was.

A used solid flywheel will be absolutely fine since there is little to fail on it.
You can try straighten them or you can get them replaced at a machine shop which is what I'd do. Having said that loads of cars run without any locating pegs.
Yeah that what i thought, the pins only locate and serve no other job once bolted down. I'm just abit worryed how they got bent in the first place.

Gulp, Used flywheel.
Where / what is it from ?
Its from a ABF 2.0 16v golf or G60

Hey guys, Just after a bit of advice. My clutch is on its way out, so going down the solid flywheel conversion route. I've Sourced the parts needed but have a problem with the flywheel. Two of the locating pins that house the clutch cover plate are slightly bent, one only just off by a fraction but the other you can see in the photos is bent to the outside. Is there anything I can do as the cover plate will not sit properly to bolt down.
Has anyone see this before? Could I heat the pins up and try to straighten them? Any help would be appreciated.

Hey guys, Under hard acceleration when changing up gears the engine revs don’t drop off as quick as they should, it always over revs. Just wondered if this is a common problem and if its an easy fix.
Could it be something like a sticky throttle body??
Any help would be great.

so did you get it?
Pick it up at the weekend, so hopfuly should be fine.

that looks like a part reviion rather than a different part, however someone with elsa will need to confirm that, however golf ones do work, need to make sure its for a central locking vehicle buth other than that they are pretty much the same from the ones i have seen/done.
Ok Thanks.

Hey guys,
I need to swap out my drivers side front door lock mech for my 01 octavia vrs and have found one at my local scrappy.
The part number from and skoda dealer is: 3B2 837 016 Q but the one from my scrappy is: 3B2 837 016A
Does any know if this will be a direct replacement with out any issues? I know they used these in mk4golf/ bora and seat leon's ect but just want to make sure if there all the same.
Thanks.

That guy is me and yes does not matter, which is why i stated that, and my door lock/switch still works after 3 years.
cheers
Ok thanks for the reply, just wanted to make sure before I started it....really helpful thread buy the way.
Just bought a Burgess switch off ebay so hope this works ok > http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Microswitch-V4-Plunger-Price-1-Each-/350593422437?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D14%26meid%3D2387943120414097934%26pid%3D100015%26prg%3D1017%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D350593422437%26#ht_1003wt_1037

Both the Audis and the Skoda have 5 bolt PCDs; do the maths.
well I know that audi's for this year are 5x112 and skodas are 5x100.....just wanted to know if the mintex discs would fit both.
-
Found a nice set of mintex discs and pads for a good price but there listed Audi A4/A6 v6 & Tdi 312mm 96-2001
Would these still fit? I know the PCD is different with audi but thought discs are multi hub as they have 9 bolt holes.
Any help would be great.

I know this is an older thread, but could somone kindly tell me what the red and blue wires coresponed to when going to the microswitch?

Does any one know if you can get the key fobs tested to find out hoe good the signal is?
-
Does any one know if a key fob can fail causing a weak signal?
-
Mine is an 02 plate and I have 2 flip keys.
Could be an issue with the CCM if you've already tried replacing the batteries. Had a similar thing with a previous mk4 Golf, replaced batteries but remote locking was intermittent.
Yeah could be the CCM but thats the last thing i'm going to check. I have lots of little problems at the moment and trying to eliminate things one at a time.
-
Maybe they just need new batteries (CR2032, iirc)
That was the first thing I checked, i've changed all the batteries and have also cleaned the terminals of any dirt.
-
Warm water, washing up liquid and some microfibre clothes worked a treat on mine.
-
I just want to find out if this normal for an eairly vrs or if the keys have been changed at some point.
Its just i've been having problems with them, ones completely dead and the other has a very weak signal.
-
I have a Yreg 01 VRS and have just the normal key fobs, but my mate who has the same car but 6months newer has the flip keys.
Is this normal for the an eairly models? what do other owners have?? normal or flip.
Thanks.

its on the area where you unplug the wiring connector - the code ends 115 i think
Ok cheers will have alook at the weekend again.
-
Hey guys, Is there away of telling if you have original vag/skoda coil packs? i've had alook at them but there nothing on the top or any stamps..... all i could see was small letters on the side with VMO.
If I unplug the lead does that have anything under it? Its just i wanted to check them before i enquired at skoda about recall replacments.
Thanks.

Thats a shame about the front ones being slightly to big, there nice modern looking badges though.
-
Hey guys, Does anyone know if the new Citigo front and rear badges would fit the mk1 octavia?
Mine are abit faded and scratched and found afew on ebay at a resonable price.
