Cam Shaft Position Sensor
07 vRS Taxi replied to VrsMule's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
If there is a fault with the cam sensor or wiring, the ecu will look to the crank sensor. The car will still run but not as good. Check wiring, repair wiring or replace sensor if needed. -
Lol and there I am accusing people of not reading the post properly, off to bed I go.

And I agree that more frequent oil changes can only be a good thing.

I know, but the original poster was asking for advice on a top up with his tfsi being on fixed and fixed servicing requires the use of 5W40 not 5W30. Sorry guys I'm not meaning to be a di*ck, just answering the question which was asked.

You mix your oils?
-
If it's on fixed (10K) you should be using the 5W40 502.00/505.00. If it's variable (up to 20K) then you need the 5W30 504.00/507.00

Noisy 2.0 vrs engine starting....
07 vRS Taxi replied to aprescott's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I have a belt driven 2007 TFSI. Mine rattled for a few months until the battery gave up. One day I turned the key, the engine turned maybe twice at the most then rattled like it hadn't before, but didn't start this time and it wouldn't even turn over again. New battery and it hasn't rattled since. -

vrs Replacing rear brake disc dirt plates
07 vRS Taxi replied to Chickenstu's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Removing the discs can be a difficult DIY . The carrier is held on by two M14 Spline head bolts that are torqued to 90nm + 90 degrees. -
Please help an idiot - Octavia VRS Turbo oil leak?
07 vRS Taxi replied to bojamo's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
1.5L in 3,500 miles is fantastic for a VAG 2.0 TFSI. These engines are well known for gulping oil. The average consumption seems to be 1L to every 1000 miles. -
Which Discs and Pads from Euro Carparts?
07 vRS Taxi replied to ChrisRs's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
So you're running 272mm with the pads being 8mm wider than the face of the disc? I would've fitted the 280's. I had a similar issue with a 2006 Sharan last week. I set out to fit a new drive belt. The belt ECP supplied was 1195 but I couldn't get it to fit. I checked the one that came off it was 1215. I rang VW who told me the belt size was 1195 but no way was that belt going on. So I checked ECP website for a 2007 Sharan, they listed the belt being 1215 so I ordered that one and all was good. -
Trolley Jack and Jacking Points ?
07 vRS Taxi replied to CmB's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
There is room in the centre to get a jack pad in without touching the arms or any bolts.
