  1. I've filed it down with a nail file and it feels much better now, not ideal, but needs must, lol! 🤣
  2. The chrome on my gear knob is coming away, leaving it feeling very rough to use, a common problem I believe, so I'm thinking of replacing it. Has anyone done this, and is it a straightforward job? Also, do any other VAG/MQB parts fit, as I know a lot of things are interchangeable? Could be a good excuse for a small upgrade...
  3. Yep, that's for both sides, discs and pads. Mine's only a 1.4, so that looks to be £209 from Skoda, still a decent saving though, and at least 25 miles closer than my local dealership.
  4. They said somewhere round £150 all in for Pagid, an hours labour plus parts, sounded reasonable to me.
  5. And it needs new front discs and pads, but they were happy enough with everything else, going to get it booked in over the next couple of weeks.
  6. Everything on the service history was done before I got the car, I only bought it in March, I can only think that it was handed back in November/ December, hence the MOT, and not put up for sale until a couple of months later? Makes perfect sense, I'll make sure the have a look at the plugs, and the oil too, I might ring Pulman and ask what was done at the last service.
  7. I've attached the full history, it was a Motability car, and it's a pre-facelift, registered February 2017, so out of warranty unfortunately. The garage is run by a couple of ex VW technicians with a very good reputation locally, I just really want it checked over for my peace of mind.
  8. Attached a pic of its last service, done about 5k ago. Can't see anything in the history about having the plugs or air filter changed, but it has had the brake fluid done. I've put a new pollen filter in as the old one was minging, never thought about an air con service, I'll ask them. Gearbox I wasn't sure about, more just curious as to whether it was worth doing yet, same thing with the timing belt. 👍 Thanks for the replies.
  9. My car's going in to a local VAG specialist on Wednesday for a once over, anything worth getting them to check for me? 2017 pre-facelift Octavia 1.4tsi DSG estate with 58k on the clock. It's just had a new AGM battery fitted and they're going to code that in, I'm also going to ask for a price to do the timing belt and water pump and service the DSG box if they can. Anything else anyone would recommend getting checked? Cheers. 👍
  10. Apologies for starting a new topic after the last one - I've since had to take the battery off to charge it another 4 or 5 times, so I think it's time to bite the bullet and just get a new one, can't stand not knowing whether or not the car will actually start! 😡 Can anyone recommend me a battery and a decent supplier for it please? The current battery is EFB, but I'm going to change it out for an AGM. So am I right in that I'm looking for a 096 AGM battery for a 2017 1.4tsi pre-facelift? Thanks in advance.
